Dan Holder

This is the other monster from X-Files that haunts my nightmares, along with Eugene Tooms.

Rayve

This is the first episode I recall watching when I was young. That last shot stays with you, for sure! Excited to watch your reaction :)

Adam Cliett

One of my favorite episodes. So good. I love the Mulder and Scully banter as well. Best duo in the history of TV.

James At the Peak

The reason the word Ambulance reads backwards, is so you can read in in your rear view Mirror. My guess is that either you have seen so much Horror that your predictions are dead on maybe you missed your calling to be a Horror/Sci-fi Writer. Loving the Files. Keep them coming Kat.

Facts! 😂 scared the crap out of me when I was younger

Who Are These People

19:08 "Flatworms are...what are known as...obligate endoparasites" It's so cute how Gillian Anderson pauses right before saying her most difficult dialogue. It ends up sounding good but you start to notice it after a while. Gillian complained about how she got all the scientific words because Scully is the medical doctor.

Some neat behind the scenes bits: The actor who played the "Fluke Man" was Darin Morgan, brother of Glen Morgan, a writer and producer of the show. As the show progressed, Darin Morgan became more creatively involved, writing several future episodes, and is widely credited for helping elevate the charm and fun of the tone of the show. (i.e., the show gets even better, if you can believe it).

Who Are These People

Many ambulances have it reversed in front so it reads right in the rear-view mirrors of cars.

Who Are These People

"Is it true is it not true?" A reminder, this show really follows the pattern of the magazine 'The Fortean Times', named for a 19th century man Charles Forte who was fascinated by the unknown and published articles of research on many subjects. It still runs to this day and tries its best to be as unbiased and journalistic as possible, not like a tabloid. Give an issue a peek, it's interesting.

Taco Wolf

whole lotta flurpin' going on in this one XD yes, it get's scary! that's why we voted on it :D I love this show.

Michael Gehrman

In the US, the word "ambulance" is generally written backwards, so tat people ahead of the ambulance in traffic can read the word in their rearview mirrors.

K, Zachary

Yeah they upped the budget for the second season. Much more intense scarier

Josh Link

This has always been one of my favorite X-Files monsters. Easily one of the scariest.

James Cole

The team gets back together after Gillian gives birth to her first child. She was out on mat leave (for 10days) during the filming of S2E2.

Long live the Flukeman! Long may it reign through tabloids and in-jokes. This show knew what it was doing, having the Flukeman set up shop in the sewers of Newark, New Jersey. :D Pretty sure you've already met the voice on the other side of those phone calls somewhere in your horror-movie-watching journey. If only he'd show his face! We'll see....

BrakYeller

Also, really hope you didn't go looking up fluke facts on the internet after this one... that way lies madness. brrrrrr

Baconbob23

One of my all time favourite monsters. Hilarious and utterly correct reaction to that gross episode.

Greg S.

The mouth on this monster is more like a bloodworm.

Michael Davis

Kat. When you're scared, you're funny, but when you're enjoying yourself, you're totally delightful. Never stop!

40,000,000? STOP eating meat rare or medium rare!

I know I'm months late but - this is the very first X Files episode I ever saw. I wasn't allowed to watch the show, it was on after my bedtime (I was like, 8yo), but I hid in the hallway and watched it by peering out from behind the wall. It scared the absolute snot out of me and I fell in love.
