What a great contest you had Kat we waited for this yesterday. It's ok better late than never. ✌️♥️

Adam Cliett

The "mythology" episodes are always 2-parters. Sometimes even 3-parters. That lasts the entirety of the series.

The Horror Coach strikes again ! Dang it if you are not nailing the Plots. It just might be time to dabble into some Comedies or you might have to start with the Kat-Fu again. Real horror ''Dirty Shoes'' LMAO.

I remember this being the most stupidly irritating episode. Who wrote this, an actor? Oh, wait.... So, after Mulder gets hit by a car, back in the office Scully asks him how he's doing, he said, better than my phone and waggles it, so that we hear something rattling inside. Somehow, he neglects to go get a replacement.... because, who needs portable communications anyway.... Then the relentless, conveniently, just missing phone calls, again, and again, and again..... Don't let actors write episodes.....

Totally unrelated, but great job with the trivia showdown Kat!  It was so much fun, even the bumpy parts!  You're a natural trivia host, and we can't wait for the next one. Yes, it's a mid-season cliffhanger!  We used to do those a lot back in the day.  Some shows would even do *two* mid-season cliffhangers.  We used to have these things called "sweeps weeks," where the networks would try and juice their ratings by airing high-draw events like movies or weird variety specials, and regular network shows would have these big plot-pushing episodes that would be milestone "must-watch" events to draw you into their show and away from other networks.  Before streaming, home media releases, and the guarantee of syndication or re-runs, you had to do whatever you could get away with to keep eyeballs on your show.  If a lore-heavy show like The X-Files has a big 'event' episode that expands on the lore or does some other kind of stunt to start amping up the overall show narrative, you can bet it originally aired during a sweeps period.  X-Files was really starting to pick up steam with the viewers at this point, so, you know, why not bring back Mulder's sister Samantha?  Because it sets up with the fan base the feeling of "holy crap if they're bringing her back this early in the series, whatever they've got planned to happen next is going to be even more completely mind-blowing!" You may recognize the actor who plays the Alien Bounty Hunter, Brian Thompson, from some movies you've reacted to:  He was the first person to ever be killed by a Terminator (he's one of the punks Arnold gets his clothes from in the first Terminator movie), the head villain in the absolutely bonkers Sylvester Stallone action movie Cobra (which you could conceivably put on your watch-list, though toward the bottom third), and was one of the minor Big Bads (the Judge) from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  He's one of those guys that shows up a lot as a heavy, usually a bad guy, and he's always fun to watch.   He's done a ton of stuff, and he can tell some wild stories about his time in the industry. Also, welcome to the deeply estranged Mulder family dynamic. Notice how Mulder went in for a hug but his dad put out his hand for a handshake?  So much drama with these people!  He really wasn't kidding back when he told Scully he even made his parents call him Mulder.

Brilliant job of this great episode! Loving these!

KAT - did You recognized the "main bad guy"?? You saw him in one other movie - The Terminator. He was playing one of the punks (with Bill Paxton) that were "terminated" at the begining of the movie. Brian Thompson - actually a theater actor. In movies they were trying to push him as "bad guy" - You know - acording to his looks. And sure - he can play one well, but I think the type casting did not worked out for him as an actor. His most recongnizable role is from "Cobra" 1986 S. Stalone action movie. Pretty fun action movie that I hope You will get to it. I have seen him in few other lesser known movies (even in Mel Brooks movie "Life Stinks"). And he was in few episodes of Buffy.

Good eye! I thought I'd recognized his face but I couldn't place it.

How'd you guess my password Kat? I've been using SparklyPrincessTutus76 for years!

That little scream when you dropped your Bluetooth was well worth the price of admission. Yoh hate ants, but I get you don't kill them. The shapshifter had his heart torn out by the Terminator (First movie).

Kat, your X-Files story instincts are on point. Gotta put you in the writers room! lol

I agree about the missed phonecall device. You only get it once.
