K, Zachary

This was very confusing episode I remember watching it 2-3 times to get it. Then I remembered my Physics of the Universe class.

Who Are These People

We all know what's coming next, right? The inaugural episode of the Golden Age of X-Files.

Some of these Episode are tough to understand but I love them all the same. The real horror for me is that you did not say anything about all the Little cutie Rats me down in the Hold. I love this Series so much, thanks Kat.

"How many years late am I? 25?" Oof. Try 31. Now I feel old.

Another great reaction to a great episode. Some episodes advance the story arc, while others are more stand alone. A good mix and balance was important to keep the arc story from being used up too quickly.

Dod Kalm is bastardized Swedish for "dead calm", referring to the sea lol

This episode.... I love the writing for the characters in the situation, and I absolutely hate the setup and premise. The rapid aging and the ease with which it's reversed to get the leads "back to zero" in time for the next episode would be an ask on Star Trek, let alone this show. The good news is that we've got a long string of good-to-really-great episodes coming our way, and this is one of the last of the uneven ones for a while. The actors famously hated making this episode. It was supposed to be an easy one, because they got to shoot on location in an actual decommissioned ship, but everyone kept banging their heads up in the cramped quarters, and the old age makeup (while excellent) was a lot for the cast and crew to keep up with in the unusual location. The episode did produce one of the single best outtakes in the entire run of the show, though.

Dead Calm is a reference to a great movie with Sam Neil and Nicole Kidman from 1989. You should check it out and so should Kat. Great movie.

Like anyone, Kat likes rats in a reasonable number. When there are too many they become gross.

Their explanation never really made sense from a chemical or physics perspective. Also if the sewer water was supposedly uncontaminated, what water was dumped into the sewer? Wouldn't it also come from the desalination water? Poor explanations all around.

I just want to know how much the FBI paid to charter an icebreaker. And how Mulder can do that without prior approval, lol. According to Google, chartering a double-hulled icebreaker can cost anywhere between $25k-$150k a day.

Just saw camp Maisma and she has plenty of lines on her face and full movement of expression. While I doubt she has had “a lot of work” done whatever she has done is good work because she looks natural and like herself. Someone give me her doctors name.

How did you upload a screenshot?

It's a good thing that jar of water broke at the end anyway. Snow globes contain antifreeze/ethylene glycol, which is toxic to humans, especially in the compromised state they were in.

I can't find it by itself on YouTube, only in blooper compilations. In the interest of not spoilering the last third of the season, I'll post a link to the S2 blooper reel when Kat gets to the end of the season, and point it out there.

Hmm so this episode has a "13th warrior" actor Vladimir Kulich. Also the music and sounds remind me a lot those from first and maybe second Fallout games. Nice. :)

Even as a swede, I know this norwegian is hilarious 😉
