Hi Horror Pals!!

With Christmas on the horizon, I'm hoping for your holiday horror movie recommendations! I'll take the most popular movies from the comments here, and make a poll over on YouTube. If it's a tie over there (like it was last year between Krampus and Black Christmas), I'll be breaking it over here again!

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS!!! KAT:D

"Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" (1977)

Ernesto Lopez

Try and see if you can add “better watch out” to the list a little Christmas horror movie no one really talks about but its good!

Thomas

Black Christmas

Jason_H

Rare Exports

Josh Link

There are plenty of good ones, but I gotta go with Black Christmas.

Matt

You have to watch Black Christmas (1974). 1.) It was one of the first slasher films, and was very influential to the original Halloween film, and other slashers that came after. 2.) It's a Canadian classic, and I'm not caught up on Canadian law but I'm pretty sure, you are kinda obligated by birthright.

Richard Maurer

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale. Best Christmas horror movie ever.

Thomas

🤣 Best explanation to watch it.

The Ginger Historian

Joining the list of Black Christmas folks. I was slightly devastated that it lost last year

Edge

Anna & the Apocolypse for a comedy. Black Christmas 1974 or Rare Exports would also be great.

Chuckloaf

"Rare Exports" and "Better Watch Out" are both above 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. "A Christmas Horror Story" is often overlooked and is also over 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of those three.

Justin Broadbent

Black Christmas but it has to be the 1974 one.

Tony Rossell

Gremlins! My second favorite Christmas movie overall.

sarCC

Black Christmas (1974) if only because it has the best tagline: "If this movie doesn't make your skin crawl...IT'S ON TOO TIGHT!"

Kevin Tuttle

In keeping with the recent Creepshow I'd say the Tales from the Crypt anthology movie which includes one of the best creepy Santas ever.

sparrowNshy

Black Christmas (1974) is a classic!! For something more fun, Santa's Slay!

JOSHUA PENDLETON

Black Christmas first. Then Gremlins. Then Rare Exports.

Jeb Manning

My top two picks are Gremlins and Silent Night Deadly Night, but there's also some good ones like: -Black Christmas (1974) -Christmas Evil (1980) -Don't Open Till Christmas (1984) -Elves (1989) -3615 code Père Noël (1989) -Jack Frost (1997) -Santa's Slay (2005) -Two Front Teeth (2006) -Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010) -A Christmas Horror Story (2015) -New Year's Evil (1980) -Terror Train (1980) -Ghost Keeper (1981) -Bloody New Year (1987)

David Crabtree

A Christmas Horror Story (2015). It's the Christmas horror version of "Trick R Treat".

abstracttruth

Recommending Gremlins 1984. Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 1987 & Jack Frost 1997 are campy/schlock. Black Christmas 1974 is a classic but very dated & dull imho.

Jeremy V.

Jack Frost, Gingerdead Man

Joey King

Dead End 2003 [with Lin Shaye [from The INSIDIOUS franchise], Gremlins 1984, Sheitan 2006, Deep Red 1975, The Lodge 2019, Darkest Night 2012 ..... Most not very well-known but Highly louded and outside the norm and I have seen some of these and they are pretty good. Cheers!!!

Julian San

I think the only two appropriate Christmas horror movies to consider (at least for this first time) are the original Black Christmas (1974) and Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984). The rest are a toss up.

Chrispy

My top pick is Gremlins. I watch it every Christmas.

Robert H

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale

Saul

Gremlins is fun and full of humor, Black Christmas is a classic horror slasher with a unique style that lasts the whole movie.

DaffyStardust

1. Black Christmas (1974) 2. Gremlins (1984) That's pretty much it. You've already done Psycho, which is set in December, involves travel to see loved ones, and in which Marion learns a valuable lesson.

Rob Taylor

Gremlins (1984), Anna and the Apocalypse (2017), The Lodge (2019), Holidays (2016), Who Slew Auntie Roo? (1972), Wind Chill (2007), Jack Frost (1997), THe Drom that Dripped Blood (1983). The last one is hilariously terrible.

William

Anna and the Apocalypse is a yearly with my girls. Violent Night is my newest favorite.

Symon O'Hagan

I would like to add myself to Team Gremlins. I was going to screen it at work for my colleagues! (Sometimes we work too).

Jay_delachance

Yes, Tales from the Crypt (1972). That would set Kat up to later either watch the series or the other movie.

Jay_delachance

I got to put in my votes as well for Gremlins and Silent Night, Deadly Night. The latter has a lot of weird moments, the kind that Kat always has a lot of fun with.

Robert Raszkowski

If we are talking specifically about Christmas movies - then Gremlins for sure. There are some other movies with the Christmas spirit but I vote for this one. You will absolutely love Gizmo. :D

Jeb Manning

Maybe do a poll? I seems to me the top 4 are Black Christmas, Gremlins, Silent Night Deadly Night, and Rare Exports. So maybe a those 4 in a poll and people can vote up which one they want?

Jay_delachance

You're in luck. She already did Krampus.

Raj Hudek

Just to mix it up, I'll go with some newer films, though all the older classics are great suggestions: 1. Better Watch Out (2016): This is tons of fun but yet so evil. 2. Anna and the Apocalypse: Very few Christmas Zombie movies and this is a decent one. 3. The Lodge: You have to do a bit of thinking but it's atmospheric and isolating. 4. Await Further Instructions: You just have to watch it. 5. Silent Night (2012): It's pretty great.
