You've heard me talk about this issue before, and it's ongoing. As the world watched China erupt in protest today, YouTube once again censored our coverage. Our episode on the enormous protests at Foxconn was age-restricted, essentially killing the viewership. No reason was given. It's gotten to the point where any coverage of protests in China is met by censorship from YouTube. and Google. Here's the link to the episode in question. You can only watch it if you're signed in to YouTube.—Chris

I'm travelling in South Korea at the moment and I can't even wach the video because I cant do age verification without an local phone number.

Maddening!! Maybe there's a politician around who you could partner with to combat the censorship?

Is it YT personnel brainwashed and hung out to dry, or those who have been...well, nothing else much worse. BW'ed and on the clothesline.

Hey let's cool it on the idea that it's evil to trade with China or them to have an economy. Probably the only reason the workers now want a better life is because they've seen it's possible to have a society that doesn't involve the CCP by interacting and trading with the outside world. This is how the USSR fell also. (To clarify, I would point out how people are corrupt and in bed with the CCP, not just that they're bad for doing business in or with China in the first place.)

The age restriction requires google to ask me for my drivers license or passport number. There is no way in hell that I would trust Goggle with that data. So via You Tube, anything age restricted is effectively full-censorship

Here's something to try. Re-post the Chinese protest footage on You Tube, but say that it is a work of fiction about protest breaking out in Narnia. See what they do with it then.

Oh Boy, I'm witnessing live stuff from WION rn, how will this go... hopefully not that one massacre.

Could probably tilt it slightly or something to make it hard for their AI to detect. Might have to re-render the file and change the name also.

Winston and C-Milk recently did an episode of 'The China Show' where they mentioned they've NEVER seen this level of protests in their 10 years having lived in china.. pretty amazing... sadly, they think the CCP will inevitably institute a military crackdown of sorts :-/

Unfortunatly, it may only be a matter of time before Xi says "Kill all the Sparrows" kind of thing.

In the next 'General hostilities' episode: Jiang Zemin is dead. Vive Jiang Zemin!
