Why China Wants To Invade Taiwan

China has said it wants to reunify with Taiwan, and has said it will take Taiwan by force if necessary. In this episode of China Uncensored, we look at China's claim that Taiwan used to be part of China, why China wants Taiwan, and why Taiwan's Democracy is such a frustration to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). When the CCP eventually invades Taiwan, would Russia be willing to help out its ally? And would Russia be in a position to help the CCP at all given the beating its economy has taken since it began its Ukraine invasion?

Tony Chopkoski

The Chinese military is run by the Russians. Look at Ukraine at how well that works.

Tony Chopkoski

And Australia is just a big empty space waiting to be filled by China.

Ian Pendleton

You really think the CCP would let anyone other then themselves, let alone a foreign country, run their military? That's honestly a really stupid idea.

Ian Pendleton

Australia's home to 26 million people and one of the most well-equipped militaries in the world. If you genuinely think they're just going to let the CCP come in and take over their country (something which is impossible for the CCP at the moment), then you really need to do more research.

Tony Chopkoski

Well silly, my father-in-law was a Colonel in the PLA. Add to that extensive looking and I am right. Got a cocked hat on sideways?

Tony Chopkoski

I guess you don't know that Australia asked for US Marines to be on its soil. They are located near the Port of Darwin, that the Chinese have a 99 year on to run. You really do get excited with yourself. Add to that there is no civilian militia as most guns have been confiscated. A Chinese task force from some island they control near Australia could do some interesting things. BTW, the Aussie Navy has 43 ships and their total military is...50,000. around 4 to 6 divisions. Not a whole lot.

Ian Pendleton

Is calling me silly for asking a question necessary? My own looking has told me a very different story.

Ian Pendleton

Training matters more then you think, and the Aussies have actual recent combat experience. The last time the CCP sent men into battle was in 1979, and that was a disaster from all non-CCP accounts. And what is it about my comments and questions that make you want to always talk down on them?

Tony Chopkoski

Silliness...pure silliness to answer your question. This is not the Australia that sent troops to fight with us in Nam. Do you know the amount of Chinese students in Australia (I do as we have Chinese friends there). And, many of them fight with those who want democracy as they kowtow to the goverrment. Chinese control of its citizens everywhere and for all time.

As a former Infantry SFC with experience in 66 countries and massive war gaming training scenarios both as a soldier and a private military contractor, let me give you the take I proposed some 30 years ago as to how the CCP and its PLA forces will commence its offensive operations in order to conquer Taiwan. 1. The Chinese will wait until the US is very economically weak and distracted both internally and externally, with the extremely apparent lack of leadership and political resolve to affect the outcome of said offensive. 2. The initial attack will not be from China, but from a North Korean offensive as a feint. This would involve China giving a massive logistical support months prior to the actual NKPA assault. This along with other possible involvements by the US and her allies at this time in other parts of the world would set the stage for a full blown invasion of the ROC (as I still call it). Possible insurgent uprisings in Laos, Cambodia as well as the destruction of US South Pacific bases such as Guam and installations in Japan would most likely take place during this time frame. Just my opinion. Love your show.

This sounds very well thought out and perfectly plausible, especially if we assume that the CCP military forces actually know what they're doing. Thank you for such a thorough analysis.
