Let's get some weekly polls on the go 🥳 First one let's have a peek into something a bit different! Hopefully, all of these movies fit into the categories of parallel universe and/or time travel 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had to trust Google for this one 😅 Voting ends Thursday (28th) evening! My reaction to the winner will be on the week starting April 8th.

Michael

Donnie Darko is fantastic, eternal sunshine is jim careys best

Zack Gallardo

12 monkeys in predestination probably have the best script of all of these in my opinion.

Dean J

My vote is for Slaughterhouse-Five (1972).

Jeremy Smith

Oh you forgot the epic one The Time Machine! But great selection there Dawn!

Celeste McAllister

I wanted to vote for 'The Time Machine' 1960 or the last version,I settled for Bruce & Brad!♡♡

Happy Hanukkah

I'm not voting because I'll be happy with any of these. I'll mention my standard story: when watching Source Code, I couldn't shake off a strong sense of deja vu. it took me a ridiculous amount of time to find out the source of this deja vu. Ba-dum-tss. (This should not be taken as a recommendation not to watch both movies.)

David Bennett

Lots of good movies on this list but the last one? In my opinion, definitely your best bet….

Happy Hanukkah

It has to be Twelve Monkeys! I LOVE the interaction between Bruce Willis and Mary-Louise Parker!!1!

David Strong

12 MONKEYS is my favorite English-language movie.

Richard Stokes

Donni Darko is so good imo one of my all time favourites but definitely do the cinematic release before you do the directors cut as they are two very different films. Directors cut gives you his answer to the mystery whereas the cinematic cut leaves it more open to make up your own mind and is better in a way because of that

JL Green

Deja Vu is not unexpectedly the least favorite but my choice because they have an unfair advantage...Denzel Washington!

Elliot Nesterman

Eternal Sunshine is an excellent Sci-Fi movie, but it doesn't fit either category.

Tim Boxall

Predestination for me, though I already know it won't win.

Michael Hartsell

Add "The Count of Monte Cristo 2002" to this list, then we'll be shit'in in high cotton as we in the Carolina's use to say.

WouldYouKindly

Source Code is so good but so is Twelve Monkeys and Looper so hopefully your get to them all at some point Hen lol just left field but Great Escape and then Chicken Run after if not seen you'd go mad for m8 on a different poll of course thx for reactions.

Richard Stokes

Tbh I think you should just do everything on this list one after the other, these are my kind of films!

David Bennett

not sure if that really fits into the genre, I suppose you could make the argument for a parallel universe....THAT being said, I would VERY much like for Dawn and several other reactors to watch RWBY.....my perception is that the reactions to Ruby and her gang make up a very small percentage of the overall anime/animated shows that GET reacted to. Not saying they aren't out there at all, I've watched a couple, but it isn't very common and I would LOVE to see that change.

proVaxxer

Choosing between Looper and Eternal Sunshine was ROUGH.

Edward Olson

No The Time Machine? No Time After Time? Frequency? I did a search myself and believe you found ONE individual person's list of favorite movies (on imdb), which is inaccurate (not all are time travel or alternate universe) and missing much better options. I really think you should cancel and restart with a different selection because there are much better choices that aren't here.

Happy Hanukkah

Dude, you're thinking of RED (2010), starring Bruce Willis and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio!

Happy Hanukkah

I'll do you one better: eliminate the polls and just go down the AFI greatest movies list. Otherwise, I'll just quote the Joker.

Edward Olson

It's a short film and in French, made up almost entirely of still shots. Brilliant, but not exactly reaction-worthy on a channel like Dawn's.

john ruddick

Twelve Monkeys is a great choice. There are others I would have substituted on the list but it it a great story and Bruce is a legend. Can't go wrong with a Pitt, Willis combo.

Bartleby

For all intents and purposes it seems 12 Monkeys will win this poll. Not only is it indeed a time travel movie but it one of the greatest time travel movies of all time from a director that Dawn loves. Former Monty Python member Terry Gilliam. So if the poll ends with Dawn watching a great movie that does fit the poll’s theme from a director whose work she has enjoyed greatly on the channel, then it’s fine.

Bartleby

So it does appear 12 Monkeys is in for the win. FYI Dawn Marie 12 Monkeys is directed by former Python, Terry Gilliam. Though unlike Time Bandits and Adventures of Baron Munchausen, 12 Monkeys is a script that was developed by the studio based on a French short film from 1963 La Jetée The studio hired Terry Gilliam for the unique vision he could bring to the story. So this will be your first Terry Gilliam film that you will see that wasn’t developed by Gilliam himself from scratch, but brought in as a director for hire. So don’t expect other ex-Pythons to pop up in this one. That won’t happen. So don’t look for it.

john ruddick

it certainly has a touch of gillingham to it especially the scenes with the time council people and in the asylum.

john ruddick

I think Brazil needs to be watched afterwards Robert De Niro's character is amazing!

Bartleby

Yeah and remember when Dawn watched The Untouchables she asked if Deniro played other kinds of roles other than the tough guy or if he just sticks to that kind of character and movie. Well Deniro’s role in “Brazil” definitely deviates from the kind of role he’s usually known for. LOL

james flack

Can you imagine your office calendar, if time travel was an option? "I'm sorry, I'm all booked up for tomorrow, but I'll be free for lunch yesterday." 🤔😎

Eric Janssen

I'll second Edward Olson's bafflement over no Time Machine (1960) or Time After Time. I'm not sure when science fiction died, but it was, ironically, sometime before 2001.

Bartleby

“Stardust” is a phenomenal and very underrated film. And yes, Deniro plays sometimes a tough guy in that film and not so tough a guy in private LOL Dawn would love that film by the way. The imagination and wild visuals would be right up her alley!
