O Brother, where art thou? and This is Spinal Tap were on the list, but I can't find them anywhere to watch! Purple Rain was also on the list, but it's a Warner Brothers movie and to be honest I need a break from movies distributed by them, 9 times out of 10 they get a copyright claim 😩

I know there's probably better suited movies for these polls, so I need you guys cause you are the experts (I just go with what Google tells me)! So how about every Sunday I let you know what the poll will be for the next week and you guys comment all the best movies for that poll? And in the mean time if you let me know anymore poll ideas below that would be splendid 😁

Voting ends Thursday night (18th April)!

Um... WHERE is "Dazed and confused"???

Robert Inman

Partial to the soundtracks on the Guardian of the Galaxy trilogy.

Scott

How about soundtrack to "Heavy Metal"?

Bill W

That's ok you left out O Brother because you could do pretty much the entire Coen Bros filmography. Definitely O Brother, Fargo, Miller's Crossing, Hudsucker Proxy, No Country For Old Men, Barton Fink

Bill W

BASEBALL MOVIES Field of Dreams (1989) Bull Durham (1988) The Sandlot (1993) 42 (2013) A League Of Their Own (1992) Little Big League (1994) Major League (1992) Eight Men Out (1988)

Bartleby

A couple of movies with the best soundtracks not included on this list “The Crow” (1994) “Singles” (1992)

Bartleby

Suggestions for future poll suggestions. Movies featuring an animal as the main character Historical epics Movies based on a true story Independent arthouse poll Black and white Director/Actor collaboration Foreign film Movies that take place within 24 hours. That’s still a great idea for a poll Dawn.

James UK

Poll ideas: -pick an actor/director you like and poll their movies. -Pick a year (or decade) at random and poll movies from that year. -sports movies -original and remakes

Bill Bryant

Lots of good choices, but Blues Brothers is next level.

JD

Pulp fiction and jackie brown had pretty good soundtracks.

Grinznmore

The Comittments (1991), School of Rock (2003). Great Soundtracks.

Louis Marzullo

No Country should be on the soundtrack poll, though. Is it too late, Dawn? It's really amazing!

Louis Marzullo

Poll idea: movies set in NYC in the 60's or 70's. And for the soundtrack poll Dawn, I'm assuming you've seen Grease (more than once 😁)

Robert Jewell

Dear Dawn, Add AMERICAN GRAFFITI next time you do this kind of poll. Thanks!

Bartleby

Dazed & Confused would definitely be a strong contender if it doesn’t win this poll. Some other Movies That Take Place in 24 hour movie poll contenders Training Day Dog Day Afternoon Night of the Living Dead Do The Right Thing Before Sunrise Rope Magnoloia American Graffiti Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf The great thing about doing this as a poll would be the sheer variety of genres and unique stories the poll would open itself up to.

Bartleby

If Dawn reacted to Heavy Metal, well that would be kick ass wouldn’t it. Does Dawn kick that much ass? 🤔

Louis Marzullo

Two-Poll idea: Movies with indigenous people/people of color as stars & supporting cast, one poll English-speaking, one poll sub-titled.

JL Green

Although I'd love to see you react to Ray, The Blues Brothers was made for YOU!

Björn Karlsson

If you think of non-english movies. You can break that down further. Do a poll with from movies from only South America, or Scandinavian/Nordic movies etc. Or break it down to certain languages. Spanish speaking movies, or swedish, japanese etc. Or by the genre. Non-english horror, action, love, war etc etc.. The soundtrack to Fcuking Åmål/Show me love is great. Very mixed music. Smooth Jazz, Swedish Indie rock ala 90-ies. Euro disco, "Classic flute music" and well known music as the band Foreigner and Robyn.

Louis Marzullo

Dawn, Olympic torch was lit today, begins its journey from Greece to Paris. If the top 3 poll picks all get double-digit vote percentage total, can you do a Gold, Silver, Bronze until Games are over? 🥇🥈🥉

Chicago Artist Jon

American High School movies. There’s a wide variety. Dazed and Confused would be up again if it loses here. Breakfast Club, Fast Times, Napoleon Dynamite, Rebel Without a Cause, Donnie Darko, American Graffiti, Friday Night Lights, Carrie, The Last Picture Show. A lot to choose from.

Clayton Johnson

Forest Gump has a great soundtrack, I would have voted for that, but the Blues Brothers is my choice on this list.

john ruddick

errrr.......... Blade Runner is a masterpiece..... the composer was committed to an asylum after making it due to the stress of producing it.

john ruddick

or almost famous but u haven't seen that one yet...... ;)

Louis Marzullo

Sub Rushmore for B'fast Club (it's done & dusted). Also My Bodyguard, Cooley High, Grease if Dawn hasn't seen it (doubtful), If..., Animal House (I know that's a cheat but it fits the ethos)

Zinphad

It's amazing how formative the Blues Brothers soundtrack was in my life.

Louis Marzullo

Now I'm not sure she did B'fast Club. Have to check. That's what I meant by "done & dusted".

Louis Marzullo

My poll pick would be Raisin in the Sun (Poitier) for English-speaking but I would be happy with Hidden Figures. For sub-titled, Roma

Elliot Nesterman

There are two different approaches to scoring a film: music composed especially for the movie, and songs or music from the era in which it is set. The two are not really comparable. You've listed films of the latter type, but there are great films with music composed specifically for them. Here are three films with Oscar-winning music that I think you'll particularly enjoy. Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) - Comedy, Drama - music by Henry Mancini Lawrence of Arabia (1962) - Biography, War - music by Maurice Jarre The Lion in Winter (1968) - Medieval Drama - music by John Barry

Duke Pootentooter

I wanted to suggest Olympic-themed movies, but there really aren't that many Summer Olympic movies to choose from. Here's a start. 1) Chariots of Fire (1981, won 4 Oscars including Best Picture) 2) Foxcatcher (2014, nominated for 5 Oscars) 3) Munich (2005, nominated for 5 Oscars) 4) Icarus (2017, won Oscar for Best Documentary feature) 5) Race (2016)

DavidRoel

There's lots of ways to find and watch movies.

Eric Janssen

Can’t find O, Brother or Spinal Tap on streaming? 👉💿😎✌️

Eric Kelly

Both spinal tap and o brother are on vudu (now fandango at home) You gotta buy em though

Bill W

O Brother is on Hulu. Also on Amazon Prime for purchase or rental.

Craig Russell

I know some will disagree, but Eddie and the Cruisers, both movies, had AWESOME sound tracks!!!

Ted Little

Singin' In the Rain is one of the finest movies ever made.

rude alf mcglesga

In the past in the uk 'when the bbc was still good' bbc 2 would do a run of the best ueropean movies...subtitles should not put anyone off a great movie!

Zack Gallardo

I will say remember the Titans had a great soundtrack too.

Björn Karlsson

Exactly. Non-english movies does not have it easy among reactor channels ☹️☹️ Bloody Hollywood 😅

Louis Marzullo

West Side Story (1961) has to get in here somewhere, too

Eric Janssen

Saturday Night Fever, and you’ll never look at a NYC subway again without tearing up. 🥲

Louis Marzullo

That was my vote because I figured Dawn would get to Blues Bros, Singin in the Rain & most of the others eventually anyway.

rude alf mcglesga

Geordie 1955...Geordie is a very small boy who feels that the girl he loves is ignoring him because of his size. He decides to take a correspondence course in body-building. At 21, Geordie becomes one of the tallest and strongest men in Scotland...and ends up at the olympic games...stars the wonderful alistair sim and cameo from legendery scottish comedian stanley baxter!

Louis Marzullo

"Geordie" was the name of Brian Johnson's band before he joined AC/DC. Wonder if it was inspired by this film? 🤔

rude alf mcglesga

Brian's band geordie was formed in Newcastle (england) people from Newcastle are also known as Geordie's...as Liverpool people are also known as scousers...Although newcastle people being in far north of england use some similar words as Scottish people.

Jonathan Leak

The Commitments would be a good one to do

Eric Kelly

Little shop of horrors, sweeny todd demon barber, rocky horror picture show, fiddler on the roof, grease....im new to your patreon so im not sure if you have seen any of these but all are top notch

Harry S

You cant find Spinal Tap, I gonna be real broken up over that. Move on to something else. You tried, not your fault..

Harry S

I suggest that after you announce a poll category, that you limit each person to one suggestion. If you don’t you might get 50 people giving you 5 suggestions each, which is unworkable. If someone gives more than one suggestion just take the first one, then count them up and take the movies that got the most suggestions. If you only give them one suggestion then that will be the movie that they really like. You can also ask what category they would like for the next Poll. One suggestion each and the most suggestions wins. You don’t want the same category over and over, so if it wins you do not choose it again for at least two months. Fell free to name your own category if you think it is needed. Hope that helps.

warcrimes

The answer is "Grease"

Harry S

I don't know if you have reactedto any of these movies, but here you go; Jeepers Creppers 2001 Jeepers Creepers 2 2003 The Ring 2002 The Grudge 2004 The Others 2001 The Changling 1980 The Fog 1980

Eric Kelly

Almost Famous had a great soundtrack and a great movie.

Bill W

Future Poll suggestion: MUSIC THEMED MOVIES (not just a soundtrack...but where music is KEY TO THE PLOT...and actually PERFORMED in the movie) Crazy Heart (2008) The Harder They Come (1972) The Commitments (1991) True Stories (1986) Honkytonk Man (1982) Crossroads (1986) Cadillac Records (2008) Inside Llewyn Davis (2012) Walk The Line (2005) Ray (2004) A Mighty Wind (2003) School of Rock (2003) That Thing You Do (1996) Whatever wins...one of us will make sure you get the movie. Don't exclude something because it's not on streaming. I didn't include SPINAL TAP because that's an obvious runaway...and Dawn should see that regardless of a poll.

Bill W

I prefer movies like that where music is germane to the plot, and performed in the movie..... rather than just a soundtrack.

Bill W

I would LOVE for Dawn to watch The Commitments. It will never beat Spinal Tap, Blues Bros, or probably Dazed and Confused or Almost Famous either in this community.

MertzRocks

Yes Dawn, you should see Spinal Tap regardless (if you can find it - I haven't looked bc I just got the DVD lol) But I WOULD add: DETROIT ROCK CITY. Music is key to the plot AND it has a great soundtrack to boot! ("Shake yer wee-wee..." Now you're wondering what that means... lol)
