Western Week has been and gone 😭 but so many of you suggested 'Once Upon a Time in the West' that I had to do it as a Patreon Exclusive for you guys!

Killer week, Dawn! Seriously, you packed this one.

Thanks you so much Dawn Marie for listening and giving your patrons Once Upon A Time in the West, even though it wasn’t originally scheduled. And it is very fitting to go back to Sergio Leone after watching Unforgiven. FYI. If there’s a Patreon exclusive your YouTube subscribers will clamor for, it’ll be this one. Whenever you get around to editing Patreon exclusives for YouTube, this should be among your first.

Dawn, can you add a "Sports" category to Discord? 🙏

Louis Marzullo

Easiest prediction since Goliath over David (oops!): there will be no long gaps between Rockys!

Toc

Great week, yet again!

Jason Hardman

This is an epic week of great films!

How about “Best movies set in New York City”? I vote for AS GOOD AS IT GETS (1997) with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt

Louis Marzullo

French Connection, Serpico, All About Eve, Dog Day Afternoon, Manhattan, Midnight Cowboy, Marathon Man, Taxi Driver, His Girl Friday, Raging Bull, Gangs of New York, After Hours, The Taking of Pelham 123 (1974). Baker's dozen! 😁

Bill W

That's almost half of all American movies. (That aren't Westerns)

Louis Marzullo

Haha, that's why they call it The BIG Apple, baby!! (That's right, I'm using your "baby's" now!!) 😄

CARLITO’S WAY with Al Pacino and John Leguazamo Is also a great NYC movie!

resinmonkey .

Good week here. Looking forward to this.

Chicago Artist Jon

The Odd Couple, 1968, with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau is very New York and one of my favorites. Or The Out of Towners, 1970.

Oh I can't wait to see the reaction to the foot massage scene

Louis Marzullo

Do you mean which side of the issue will Dawn come down on? Is it or isn't it? Now I can't wait!! 🤣

Richard Stokes

Hey Dawn, I'm going to give Detective Dawn a hint for Pulp Fiction that I think puts you on the trail to see the underlying meaning of the film or at least something interesting that you can work out yourself what you think it means. You wouldn't see it if I didn't mention it as hardly anyone ever notices it. I was desperate with 3 days left at uni to write a 6000 word dissertation on Tarantino from scratch and spotted it as I was watching the film a million times trying to work it out! Here is the hint. Pay close attention to the speech of the character Honey Bunny which we hear twice. I based my whole dissertation on it! I'll talk more about after you have seen the film and tell you what I think it means. I'm just telling you as I think it's so hidden and there is so much going on it gives you a sporting chance

Louis Marzullo

Can't wait for the revelations! I know it has nothing to do with "I gotta go pee! I wanna go home!" Or does it?? 😄

Richard Stokes

No, it's not that. Its something I spotted that I used to make an argument that Tarantino was sharing a commentary on his own creation of a new kind of artform (the film) and our postmodern lives and identities through the plight of the characters. I've built it up far too much as it's very niche and theoretical! what I said it meant (noone has to agree with my conclusions) but there is a definite Easter egg in the scene to find and you can make of it what you will, so that's kind of fun!

Richard Stokes

Well I think it is but I'm a nerd! Extra hint Louis you need to listen to both versions of the speech though second time you just hear it in the background

Louis Marzullo

"But I'm a nerd!" 🤣 In this community, that's like saying "But I only have one head!" You're with your peeps, Richard!

Bill W

or the 3rd option. "I DON'T LIKE ANYONE TOUCHING MY FEET!" Like a dog at the groomers. 😀

Louis Marzullo

😄 Well, we definitely know Dawn is not like Frank Costanza in that dept.! Livestream evidence! 🦶
