Robert Jewell

This film, which kind of sucks, gets its inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock's brilliant NOTORIOUS (1946) which you should definitely see.

JL Green

Affirmative, a 💩 ending indeed.

This movie was directed by Hong Kong legend, John Woo. A filmmaker from Hong Kong who is one of the most iconic and influential action directors of all time. The action films he made in Hong Kong made a massive impact on the world of movies. Unfortunately Woo wasn’t able to successfully navigate the political waters of Hollywood and his unique and iconic style didn’t really translate to America. There’s a great irony in this because so many in Hollywood were enormously influenced by John Woo and his films. Including Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino who has spoken extensively about the work and influence of Woo. The movie True Romance had a scene with Alabama watching a John Woo movie in Clarence’s apartment. Quinten Tarantino dedicated the script for Reservoir Dogs to the actor Chow Yun Fat. The main action star actor John Woo primarily worked with. John Woo turned Chow Yun Fat into an international action star. And the movie “The Matrix” took huge inspiration from the films of John Woo. This was obvious to everyone who knew Woo’s films when The Matrix came out. Recommending three John Woo films with Chow Yun Fat. These three films changed the game and ignited the imaginations of American movie fans like Tarantino and the makers of The Matrix “A Better Tomorrow” (1986) “The Killer” (1989) “Hard Boiled” (1992) It’s worth going back and seeing these from the beginning so you can see the evolution and growth of John Woo as a filmmaker. The director that influenced so many filmmakers around the world.

Face Off just did okay initially. If anything it’s fame and cult status grew much more on home video in the years after. Broken Arrow is almost completely forgotten. And you saw Dawn’s take to this MI movie. The classic Hong Kong John Woo films are essential action classics for a movie lover. Definitely films that are neglected by the movie reaction scene.

The second movie is universally the least liked. Third is better and 4 is where it hits its stride

Where’s the next full reaction for today’s Mission Impossible movie?

I'd call this one Mission: Unnecessary. You were taking the expression "monster virus" too literally. A Chimera virus is named after the mythical monster which is comprised of 2 or more different animals... because the "monster" virus is comprised of 2 or more different viruses to create a hybrid virus that can be replicated. Sometimes they are made specifically so they can create a vaccine from it. ..but they can also be used as a weapon.

Hey Dawn, the villain (Scottish actor Dougray Scott) was slated to play Wolverine in the first X-Men movie but couldn't because he was injured in the motorcycle chase and the film went past schedule so Hugh Jackman got the role.. He was also a candidate to play James Bond but they opted for Daniel Craig instead. Two money-making franchises yanked out from under him. 😳
