This movie made a generation scared to take a shower. This is extremely loosely based on real life murder Ed Gein. Janet Leigh actually refused to take showers after this movie, it made her realize how vulnerable you are in the shower, she took only baths.

Great reaction Dawn, as usual!! This is most definitely my favorite Hitchcock film. I hope you consider reacting to "Birds" which is Hitchcock's next suspenseful film following Psycho. If you're very interested in Norman Bates and continuing his story, I also recommend adding Psycho 2 (1983) to your list. Both Anthony Perkins who played Norman and Vera Miles who played the sister returns in the sequel. Hitchcock didn't direct it because he had already passed away but it's still a great, underrated horror sequel. Not only is it entertaining, it has many wonderful twists and turns throughout which makes it even more enjoyable. Anthony Perkins once again plays Norman Bates, amazingly.

I'd like to see Detective Dawn tackle the earlier Hitchcock films that earned him the title "Master of Suspense", particularly from the '40s. Foreign Correspondent Suspicion Saboteur Shadow of a Doubt Spellbound Notorious Rope

Anyone else do a double take at the 0:54:47 mark? I didn't remember Norman Bates murdering a baby in this movie.

You should watch The Birds.

Hitchcock wanted to film part of North by Northwest at Disneyland, but Walt wouldn’t allow him because he made this disgusting film

Hey Dawn. Good reaction as always. Not gonna lie though, I was a little upset that you were able to figure out the ending not even half way through. I really wanted you to be completely oblivious and be in total shock. Just like everyone else that saw it back in 1960 was. But I guess there’s no one like “Detective Dawn” LoL 👍🏻
