Oh boy. One excellent movie comes to mind. 127 Hours. Unforgettable and technically impressive. The Revenant and Children of Men are equally great, differently though.

Write in: Cast Away

I don't think I've seen any. Will be good for a first time watch along!

JL Green

I am part of the lowest rated group voting for "The Grey" but I really enjoyed this film.

Robert Inman

Dawn has a mix of pure fiction, and stories loosely based on real incidents. I wonder if she has a preference.

Bartleby

“Society of the Snow” is the better film than “Alive” Both films telling the same true story. Though “Alive” was released first many years ago, “Society of the Snow” is the vastly superior film

Bartleby

127 Hours was excellent!! And James Franco was phenomenal in it. A shame more channels haven’t reacted to it.

N M

The Edge is a hidden gem! Alec Baldwin and “Mr. Hannibal Lector” go to the woods…. Only 1 survives.

Jeff Forbes

I didn’t realize how many “survival” movies I haven’t seen. Out of the whole list, I’ve only seen Alive and Revenant so I guess I’ll go with one of those.

Bartleby

I think if you ask anyone that question in regards to any genre, though especially something like survival, more often than not they’ll always go with the one based on a true story. That’s not always a guarantee though as to the quality of the film itself.

DaliiLars

Who knows? She might be the one to kick the trend off one day. It is truly a commentary-worthy film.

DaliiLars

I see why Children of Men gets the highest, and without spoiling anything, I highly suggest you watch it first because thematically it's kind of perfect for this poll and it is sort of a bleak view of humanity.

DaliiLars

I have to agree with you there, but since the latter movie is so recent, she might have a better experience with the first movie.

DaliiLars

Oh my God. I didn't know she hadn't watched it yet... This should almost be top priority automatically.

Louis Marzullo

Was hoping Deliverance would make the cut when I saw the poll category. Oh well. Dawn is one of the great teachers of patience! Om...

Bartleby

Not sure I’m follow your logic. The better film is the better film.

Bartleby

You’re really hung up on getting Dawn to watch Deliverance aren’t you?! Don’t even want to start her Burt journey with something fun like Smokey and the Bandit. Nope! Straight to Deliverance!!! What’s the first Dustin Hoffman film you like to recommend to people, “Straw Dogs”? LOL

Gary Mackley-Smith

I haven't watched any of these films, and don't wish to. I look forward to something lighter in due course.

Bartleby

You might consider checking out The Edge. You might enjoy that one. Stars Anthony Hopkins, Alec Baldwin, and Bart the Bear.

Bill W

The Most Dangerous Game (1932)/ Surviving The Game (1994)

Craig Russell

Where's Highlander (1986)? Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod, "There can be only one!"

Edward Olson

I wish the poll was blind and the current standings unknown until its over so people wouldn't switch votes.

Jimmy Walker

I was surprised that the John Wayne survival move "Island in the sky" was not on the list

Jinyatta

It's not on the list and it's not a movie, but if you haven't seen the Showtime series Yellowjackets, it's fantastic.

Alvin Helms

Couldn't vote for any of them. Hated them all.

erosennin

Oh I missed this vote, but fuck yeah. Children of Men is in my all time top 3! Phenomenal movie.
