Leave it to Miss Dawn to put a psychotic killer into perspective. I liked the original with Peck and Mitchum much better, but this has its place in the DeNiro repertoire I suppose. I did know going in that Dawn would not care for it, but I needed the confirmation. And, 2 quick hours and an Amazon rental later, that's what I got.

So Dawn... the actor who played Lieutenant Elgart (Robert Mitchum) played Max in the original 1962 film. And the actor who played Lee Heller (Gregory Peck) played Sam Bowden in the original. Robert Mitchum also served as the narrator for Tombstone, so I guess that's 2 Not Best Movie Ever strikes against him. Hopefully he'll redeem himself when you watch El Dorado (1967).

This film is not for everyone, especially in this era. I liked it since i'm a huge fan of thrillers. IMO, it's a very good film, and it's worth watching at least once for fans of crime and thrillers. I also love the original version from 1963.

This film is a powerful masterpiece! The scene with the mom putting on lipstick after sex was implying she was still in a state of arousal because she didn’t actually orgasm from the sex with her husband. The actress who plays the daughter is Juliet Lewis. You saw her in Natural Born Killers and then From Dusk Till Dawn As you see here, she’s been acting since she was a teenager and made this film years before NBK and Dusk till Dawn. Juliet Lewis and Robert Deniro were both nominated for Oscars for their performances in this film.

And by the by Dawn. Why have you not published the YouTube reaction to Kill Bill 2 to YouTube yet? Just curious and asking on behalf of the subscribers. Because that would be a severe case of blue balls for all the folks over on YouTube.

It may not have cleared "customs" yet. Possibly another 2-parter like Tombstone and Master and Commander.

Great reaction. When you said at the beginning you didn’t know about the movie and thought maybe was a vampire movie . I thought ,” oh no ! Dawn doesn’t know what she’s walking into! 🤯 kudos for seeing it through . Cheers
