I put the opening theme to the 1960's Spiderman cartoon on Discord Cinema Chat. It's awesome. Even shows the Chrysler Building in NYC!

Directed by Sam Raimi! Director of the Evil Dead films. Can’t help but feel like you’re ramping up to dive into the MCU Dawn. Remember! There are a ton of fantastic superhero movies prior to the 2000s. You’ve still got Batman (1989) to do. As well as other great comic book movies like “The Mask” (1994) “The Crow” (1994) And everyone in your YouTube comments is constantly asking when you’ll return to Deadwood.

Hi Dawn, in the movies the actors and actresses who play high school students are all in their 20s and 30s. That is why they look too old to be in school.

Bill W

I recommend the animated series (1967-1970) where the theme song originated. It still holds up.

Don Wagner

I forgot Randy Poffo A.K.A. Randy Macho Man Savage was in this movie. He was the fighter in the cage.

Louis Marzullo

Have you ever seen the promo he did with those tiny cups of cream that diners provide for your coffee? Hilarious!!

Robert Inman

Toby Maguire is in Spiderman 1,2,3 and No Way Home. Others have different actors. I did get some cultural education from Dawn in this reaction though - a visual definition of a "proper snog kiss"

Bill W

Dawn...yeah The King of Queens and E.L.Raymond crossover. Even before Kevin James had his own show, he used to appear on E.L. Raymond as one of Ray's friends named "Kevin". The King of Queens didn't start until 2 years after E.L Raymond. That's when they decided to do a couple crossover episodes ...because both shows were set in the New York City borough of Queens and they were both on the CBS network. Earlier in the 90s NBC did the same thing with sitcoms Friends, Seinfeld, Mad About You, Frasier...and 2 other shows you probably never heard of- Madman of the People and Caroline in the City. After you finish Deadwood...I request that you make Seinfeld your next series. They're short 22 minute episodes- you could do 3 at a time.

Dawn, Stan Lee was in the movie he has a cameo when the Green Goblin throw his pumpkin grenade at the building. Green Goblin was always my favorite Spider-Man villain in the comics. Goblin does die like he does in this movie, but at the time Peter GF was not MJ but Gwen Stacy, it not end for well before the Green Goblins death.

This movie was directed by Sam Raimi who directed The Evil Dead movies. Bruce Campbell who played ASH in Evil Dead also make a cameo in the movie as the ring announcer during the wrestling match.

One wee correction, Bill: "Raymond" was set in Lynbrook, N.Y., which is in Nassau County, Long Island, just east of Queens. The Barone's were a bit more affluent than the Heffernan's, even though the latter were a 2-income household with no kids. But I never bought Ray as a writer of any kind, sports or otherwise. They should have made him an ethically-challenged salesman.

Louis Marzullo

Aye. One of my top ten episodes is the one where Ray gives Robert $1K & Robert admits he thinks Ray doesn't deserve what he has (even though Ray was right about the money).

Bill W

Ray Romano could be a (sports) writer. Ray Barrone is too dumb. He don't even talk good.😀 That's why I prefer Mike Lupica. Parkers and Watsons?

Bill W

Oh yeah i wasn't thinking of the movie. In my multiverse they got married and they go by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Spiderman. ✡️ "Honey, we're having dinner with the Spidermans!" So... Spiderman and the Hulk both live in Queens! Just think if Frank Costanza bumped into Arthur Spooner!.. at the corner of First and 1st.

Louis Marzullo

Haha. They live in Queens in the comic, too. Peter wanted to buy Mary Jane a Mercedes as an anniversary gift one year but she won't ride in a German car (another Seinfeld reference, folks!).

Ted Little

Dawn, the final part of the movie was indeed rushed. The original ending involved an elaborate sequence with Spiderman spinning a web between the twin towers of the World Trade Center. While the film was still in production, 911 happened. That event was so horrific that they felt compelled to craft a new ending.
