The "orange crap" they're talking about is an herbicide called Agent Orange. It was originally used in industrial agriculture to keep railways, power plants, etc clear of plant growth. It was used during the Vietnam War to kill plants and foliage in the jungle and give the enemies (Communist North Vietnamese soldiers) fewer places to hide. The herbicide caused cancer in thousands of people and any children they bore. "Guerrilla" tactics in warfare allow a smaller, lesser armed group to combat a larger army by using ambushes , and sneak hit-and-run attacks. In the US, towards the end of the war when large numbers soldiers were returning home, they were met with protests. Many people were against the US involvement in the war, and some took it out on the soldiers. Also, the government was neglectful in offering aid to returning soldiers as far as medical and psychiatric treatment, finding employment etc..

The speech at the end is one of Stallone's best performances, along with Rocky 1 (Oscar winner 'Best Picture' 1976) and Cop Land (1996). Also.... Please react to Rocky I through IV, and Cop Land. =D I wouldn't waste your time with any of the other Rambo movies.

Dawn, It was a real treat watching your raw reactions to this epic and tragic story. It's so well done by all involved, you can't help but feel LOTS of emotions about this whole movie. Your honest female perspective is as insightful as it is endearing in all your vids! Thank you for ALL you do and share! Truly! :)

Time for another Alfred Hitchcock movie "Rear Window"

Retro Maven

Hmm..first it was Arnie, then Clint, and now Sly Stallone. Your affinity for the rugged, macho types is now officially a trend! No bookworms for Ms Dawn Marie...

Watch "Rocky" before you bother with the Rambo sequels. If you never watch Rambo 2 & 3 you won't be missing much. "Rocky" has everything: it's an underdog movie, a movie about personal redemption, an against-the-odds story, and a surprisingly tender love story. A great script, written by Stallone, with great performances all around.

The protestors and name calling was only one aspect of why we had troubles when returning from Vietnam. We were returned with virtually no preparation or time for adaptation. With airline transportation it was often just a few days between spending 12 months in a jungle, surrounded by other soldiers, and killing anything that moved where nothing was supposed to or expected to move; until we were standing in a grocery store, surrounded by civilians, and expected to know how to act just like they did.
