Movie Run Time: 2:16:57

You will need your own copy of the movie to watch along! 😁

Sorry about the delay again, feeling a bit better today, but not 100%. If Solo isn't your cup of tea, then remember we've got your HIT THE DECADE! poll winner coming up on Sunday, Beverly Hills Cop 😊

Mr. Writhms

Thanks for reacting to this!

Actually really liked the film, and the reaction as ever was top notch! - I have edited this so include some more thoughts as I was knackered last night after I watched it. I enjoyed it - but for what it is. A trip into the world of who Han Solo is and as a flesh out of some other aspects of the Star Wars universe, and I also get the proclivity for wanting Han to always be Harrison Ford. I think Alden did a decent job of a plucky pilot and wouldbe smuggler, but as Han - there was a lot left to be desired. Where I thought "Oh actually, this is good" is the arc of When Han met Chewie. Thats the part I really liked. An Iconic friendship borne in adversity and the mutual love of not being killed. I think if they manouvered the story around Han growing up and fleshed out him as a person (slower than they did) and had a more meaningful "meet and greet" between Han and Chewie - the film would have went down a little better (even if Han isn't Mr Ford himself). I do hold true though - as a one off, Solo had some fun parts to it - and satisfied some sort of need I had. I just wanted a little more here, a little less there and we might have had a decent trip down memory lane.

If you’re going to insist on watching all the DIsney Star Wars and something like Terminator 3 despite all the warnings and well intentioned advice, then you need to pick up where you left off and return to the Planet of the Apes series. Come back with the third film “Escape From the Planet of the Apes” Trust me, it’s a vastly superior film than any Star Wars movie made by Disney. Anyone who even attempts to argue this is just being disingenuous.

I would only disagree that the advice is well intentioned. Much of it feels like people trying to tell others what they should and shouldn't enjoy. Like much of the internet seems to be these days...

I would argue the advice is well intentioned as it’s coming from passionate fans who know and love the lore and characters. And what Disney did was only hateful trashing of the legacy of these beloved characters. And destroying the legacy of the characters was the intention of the Disney filmmakers. Perhaps that was only due to incompetent hack storytelling with Force Awakens, but it absolutely was the intention with The Last Jedi. Thus the warnings are fair and well intentioned in my opinion

Excellent reaction. Harrison Ford revealed that he's seen the movie and thinks it's "phenomenal". This is the first Star Wars movie in which Chewbacca reveals his age: 190 years. That means he is 200 years old in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977), 203 in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), 204 in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). The opening scene on Corellia and the opening scene in Rogue One (2016), in which Krennic takes Galen Erso, take place 13 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977).
