Still not 100% yet so I'll keep this short and sweet!

I'm stuck between two minds; watch Serenity straight away, or hold off and not rush into it. What do I do? 🤔

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

Split the diff. Sit on it a week or two to let everything process in your brain, but then come back to it while it's still fresh.

Bob Criswell

I agree with waiting a week. Let the anticipation build a little and heal a little more too. But if you did it straight away it wouldn't hurt my feelings any. :-)

Wait until you’re 100% so you’re fully engaged, but not too long!

Put it off a week or so. Make us beg. 😛

Hold off. Your health is THE most important thing. I want to see my favorite reviewer at 100% and feeling up to the task! 😃

Best answers I can give you... A period of time does pass from the end of the TV series to when the events of the movie begin. Months, maybe? Not long. So an immediate watch means final closure a bit faster than intended. Based on Joss Whedon's story line in the film anyway. However, the last, is the last & to delay is to torture yourself when we've already seen it. Join us, fast. Your call totally! I've literally answered both ways, lol. Cheers, Dawn! :)

Makes no matter what you do, awesome is still going to be awesome.

Watching Serenity doesn't mean you're watching the last of the available Firefly content. There is something out there called The River Tam Sessions, plus blooper reels, and perhaps some interviews of the cast members.

The River Tam Sessions were released as web shorts, to maintain interest in "Serenity." So I suggest waiting a week or two, there're plenty of movies to take up the slots, then watch the River Tam Sessions. Then wait another couple of week to watch Serenity. Serenity came out two years after Firefly ended. It took Whedon that long to raise the money. So waiting to watch it will give you a sense of the anticipation Firefly fans had during those two years. Here's a link to the River Tam Sessions in their proper order, earliest to latest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFuwllLKdbE

I say do what you want but me, I can never wait. When I binge Firefly, I watch Objects in Space and then go right to the movie. But that's me. Hope you are feeling better Dawn! ;* <3

If you're looking for another TV series after Firefly, let me suggest the great 90s comedy "Absolutely Fabulous." It stars Jennifer Saunders as Edina Monsoon, who owns a small fashion PR company, Joanna Lumley as Patsy Stone, Edina's fashion editor chum, and the wonderful Jane Horrocks as Bubble, Edina's rather clueless assistant.

Hey Dawn Some silly absurd comedies that will be right up your alley!! “The Forbidden Zone” (1980) “Casino Royale” (1967) “The Saddest Music in the World” (2003) “Top Secret” (1984) “Up in Smoke” (1978) “Mars Attacks” (1996) “Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy” (1996) “Shaolin Soccer” subtitled (2001) “Scott Pilgrim VS the World” (2010)

If you like 80s comedies or Bill F. Murray, you can add "Stripes (1981)" and "Caddyshack (1980)" to your list
