You are very welcome.... I said that before watching this. Awww, I miss the kisses! ;* Sorry but I'm writing another novella here lol... I'm not going to touch questions 1 and 2... Spoilers! 3- Jayne and River. This is (so far as I have yet read in the books and comics) not yet a thing and there is no real clue whether or not the stories will go there. But I am with you on this theory! The signs are all there, in the show, that they eventually become a couple. And yes, they would protect each other! 4 thru 6- the backstories that I know about... Perhaps I (and/or WE) can tell you about after the movie, but ONLY IF you do not plan to read any books or comics (sorry... Graphic Novels (rolling my eyes lol)). If you're going to read those, then Spoilers!! 7- FOX MUST END!! lol Well it kinda DID since Disney bought FOX... I don't know why I forgot that and had to edit this lol! 8- The 'Hands of Blue' guys were operatives of the Blue Sun Corporation, which is the huge conglomerate corp that runs the facilities where River was experimented on and otherwise conditioned (you'll see...). Blue Sun Corp is either run by the Alliance government, or possibly RUNS the Alliance government! Either way they are very powerful with fingers in every pie, so to speak. Their resources are vast. It's kind of like 'The Company' in the Alien movies (Weyland Yutani), to which there is a quick "nod" to in the first episode (for all of us geeks who paid attention). 9- What did the actors do after Firefly/Serenity? Wow that's a tall order. I know some but got most of this below from Wikipedia. Nathan went on to the ABC series Castle, with some the other crew making guest appearances over the eight seasons. Gina, Adam, Jewel and Summer all appeared in single episodes of this show as well. Nathan is currently starring in the TV series The Rookie. Before Firefly he was also the "wrong Ryan" in Saving Private Ryan and I'm sure there were other roles that idk... (others might) Jewel was in Stargate Atlantis between '07 and '09, and in lots of lesser-known movies and TV shows, both before and after Firefly. She started young, her first movie being Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain when she was 12 or 13. Gina was in Suits, as you said. In the mid 90s she was on the soap opera One life to live (17 eps) and had several one-off eps in lots of other shows. She was also a main character in the series Cleopatra 2525 (28 eps). Since Firefly, she's had a lot of movie and TV roles, including 7 eps of the show 24 with Kiefer Sutherland, 4 eps of Westworld, and a main role in Standoff (18 eps). She is currently starring in 9-1-1: Lonestar. Adam (evidently) first appeared onscreen in My Bodyguard. You know about Full Metal Jacket. Other notable movies he appears in include Predator 2, Wyatt Earp, Independence Day, and The Patriot. On TV, he was in a LOT of TV films and several series, including a starring role on a show called The Cape. He was in an episode of the U.S. Space Program miniseries From the Earth to the Moon as Fred Haise (an Apollo 13 astronaut; Fred was played by Bill Paxton in the movie Apollo 13). There is a lot more. Sean was the title role star in a show called Ryan Caulfield: Year One in 1999 and he was a regular in Party of Five and The $treet before Firefly (2000-01). After Firefly he was in a lot of single eps and TV films, plus the notable movie Much Ado About Nothing and several voice roles for animated Batman and Justice League movies. Summer, before Firefly, was unknown. She was in an ep of Angel (Buffy spinoff) as a ballerina, and came to Joss Whedon's attention because of that. Since Firefly and Serenity she has done a good amount of TV and a few movies (mostly TV movies). She had recurring roles in The 4400 and in The Unit and especially in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. She was also in multiple eps of The Cape (see Adam), Grey's Anatomy (2 eps), Arrow, and Sequestered. Morena was also pretty unknown before Firefly, for which Inara was her first TV role, and she was not the original actress cast to be Inara! (Rebecca Gayheart was fired after 1 day of shooting. Hmmm... No chemistry??? lol). Atter Serenity, she was in several movies but I only recognize the Deadpool movies (#3 is in production). Her major TV shows after Firefly were V, The Mentalist, Homeland (which I recommend!), and Gotham. She has also recently had main roles in Home Invasion and The Endgame. Ron sadly passed in 2016 at age 71. All the movies and TV he did BEFORE Firefly would take far too long to list even the significant stuff! He began in 1972. His was best known for his role as Detective Harris on Barney Miller (1975-82). After Firefly and Serenity, he appeared in the movie Death at a Funeral, and in episodes of several shows including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., CSI and CSY: NY. Alan... OMG ALAN!! His work is just about extensive as Ron's over a much shorter time frame! His 'major' movies before and after Firefly include Patch Adams, 28 Days, A Knight's Tale, Ice Age (3 voices), Dodgeball, I Robot (voice of Sonny), Ice Age: The Meltdown (voice), 3:10 to Yuma, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (someone will recommend this--I haven't seen it yet), Ice Age: Continental Drift (voices), 42 (I recommend this one!), Frozen (voice), Zootopia (voice), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (voice of K-2SO), and Frozen 2 (voices). Plus a lot of other movies! Wow! And his TV career is even more extensive! Look up Alan to see all the voice roles he has done--I can't list even the highlights here. Some live-action highlights: 5 eps of Arrested Development, 3 eps of V (with Morena), 4 eps of Dollhouse, 6 eps of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, and most recently he is the title starring role in Resident Alien as Harry (I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOW!!). Oh, I forgot to talk about FOX and what they did and why... I'll leave that for another comment. As always I love your reactions (even the ones I haven't seen!) I think this is the longest comment or message I've written you yet! With love, Carl

Even when they were filming these episodes, The cast still expected more time for the stories to develop. Fox had a trifecta of actions that still don't make sense to most of us, a botched series start with poor promotion, an early time schedule change for the broadcasts that put Firefly against other established popular shows, and lastly an abrupt cancellation without notice. Who knows what would have developed in other circumstances. We did end up with the wildly unusual production of a feature film following a single season show - most industry pundits would never have bet on that happening!a

Nathan Fillion went on to a couple of series (Castle *great*) and (The Rookie) for example. Adam Baldwin starred in Chuck *also great*

John Walters

Jewel starred in an excellent episode of the X Files (Season 3, episode 8) 7 or 8 years before Firefly came along.

I'm Patron to three other creators who have reacted to Firefly & Serenity and used to be with a fourth (all are women). I'm trying to get yet one more (a married couple) to react to it.

There are a lot of bloopers on YouTube as well as in reviews with the cast. Also comacon panels. Plenty of Firefly content on YouTube.

I saw that she was but never saw much X-Files. Sorry I didn't include that. I did kind of short her paragraph...

Fun fact, I once got into an argument with Adam Baldwin on Twitter and when it was obvious he was losing he deleted his side of it. Also he was great in Independence Day.

Every time Mal rides a horse, no matter what planet, it's always the same horse. His name is Fred. The Alliance officer and soldier uniforms are leftovers from Starship Troopers (1997). Joss Whedon intended the show to have run for seven seasons. While there were low ratings at first, the real reason it was cancelled was that the FOX executives thought it was too dark. Joss Whedon and the cast refused to change the storyline, so FOX cancelled it with only 11 episodes out of 14 airing on the network. Prior to its cancellation fans formed a Firefly Immediate Assistance campaign which involves sending in postcards to the FOX Network to support the production of the show. After that failed, the campaign worked on getting another network such as UPN to pick up the series for a second season. The campaign ended up being unsuccessful in securing the continuation of the show. During the eight-season run of Castle (2009), Nathan Fillion reunited with at least five "Firefly" cast members: Richard Burgi appears in season four, Adam Baldwin in seasons four and eight, Gina Torres in season five, while Summer Glau and Jewel Staite appear in separate episodes in season eight. Nearly all of the main cast members have appeared as villains in other Joss Whedon projects. Nathan Fillion appeared in the seventh season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997) as Caleb. Gina Torres appeared in the fourth season of Angel (1999) as Jasmine. Adam Baldwin also appeared in "Angel" (1999), but in the fifth season as Marcus Hamilton. After "Firefly" (2003), Summer Glau and Alan Tudyk appeared in Dollhouse (2009) as Bennett Halverson and Alpha, respectively. Sean Maher played Don John in Whedon's movie of Much Ado About Nothing.
