I think you’re mistaken Dawn. There are only three Indiana Jones movies. “Raidars of the Lost Ark” (1981) “Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom” (1984) and “Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade” (1989) You should consider anyone who tries to tell you there are more than these three Indiana Jones movies to be a bad person who means you harm.

Dawn, the plane they hopped around the world in was real - a Boeing 314 seaplane. Most I knew it as a "PanAm Clipper", and it could fly across the Pacific by landing at islands to refuel. No airport needed.

I'm not saying they're crap, but you just watched the best of the 3 by far. Now the new one from what I hear is total woke garbage. Never a big fan of any.

You know that Sallah was played John Rhys Davies, right? He was Gimli (or is it Gimble? 😉) in The Lord of the Rings. 🧙‍♂️ The crates were mostly filled with bricks/blocks for filler. Maybe a few had some kind of artifacts (idk) but basically they were all decoys. Yes THAT MANY DECOYS! Movie 2 actually takes place a year before Raiders. I consider it close to terrible but also fun. Terribly fun, perhaps? 🤣🙄 Movie 3 is, in some ways, better than Raiders but in some ways not. Opinions differ but it is VERY good.

Why frogs? Outside of South America, frogs can't hurt you

(In Andy Serkis' Gollum voice:) I know I know! I was messing with Dawn for calling him Gimble, silly!!

Dawn, after syncing the whole movie, your outro ended up perfectly timed to the same length as the end credits of the film. I let the end music play as you did your outro. It's awesome that you like Indy! All of his adventures are amazing, so far. Enjoyed a nice watch party to your full reactions. You made a fun film even more fun. Thanks, Dawn! Cheers! :)

hands up if you wanted to teach at university? 😆

The Hebrew word translated "ark" simply refers to a box, a chest, or a coffin. Noah's ark was not a boat but a large floating box. The ark of the covenant did not render armies invincible. When the Philistines stole the ark, it caused so much sickness among their troops that they gave it back to the Israelites for whom it was sacred. That being so, it might have been better to let Hitler have the thing.

Though my Assyriology professor cited Indiana Jones as an example of how not to do archelogy, this film did inspire many people to enter the field.

It was, however, tricky to take off and land because of the difference between the drag of water and air. As soon as you took off, the plane would surge ahead and you had to reduce power. As soon as you hit the water, the plane would slow down and you had to give more thrust. During the war, a pilot misjudged the landing in Lisbon harbour and a USO troop of entertainers was seriously injured and several members killed.

I am very happy you enjoyed Indy. I hope you watch (or went on to watch) them all. The famous scene in which Indy shoots a marauding and flamboyant swordsman is not in the original script. Harrison Ford was supposed to use his whip to get the sword out of his attacker's hands, but the food poisoning he and the rest of the crew had gotten made him too sick to perform the stunt. After several unsuccessful tries, Ford suggested "shooting the sucker." Steven Spielberg immediately took him up on the idea, and the scene was successfully filmed. Freeze-framing during the Well of Souls scene, you can notice a golden pillar with a tiny engraving of R2-D2 and C-3PO from the Star Wars saga. They are also on the wall behind Indy when they first approach the Ark. The Well of Souls scene required 7,000 snakes. The only venomous snakes were the cobras, but one crew member was bitten on set by a python. In biblical descriptions, the Ark is a gold-plated wooden box that must be carried with poles because it is too holy to be touched.
