You will need your own copy of the movie to watch along! 😁

Has anyone played Resident Evil 4? And if so, did they just completely copy the storyline from this movie!? 🤣

Good to see the old Dawn back. You’ve been neglecting to hate annoying characters lately! The look on your face of anticipation when they were lowering her and then disappointment when Indy was bringing her back up we’re priceless!

Superb reaction. For the bug chamber sequence, Kate Capshaw was covered with over two thousand insects. She took sedatives before the scene to get over her initial fear, and claimed "they definitely worked". The insect on Willie's hand in the bug tunnel scene is a Spiny Leaf Insect (Extatosoma tiaratum). The nightclub in the opening scene is called Club Obi-Wan, a homage to the Star Wars character. George Lucas made the film a prequel, as he did not want the Nazis to be the villains once more. It is also the only Indiana Jones movie that does not show or make any references to the Ark of the Covenant. This is because the movie takes place one year before Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), so Indiana has yet to become interested in the Ark. Although it is shown painted on a wall in the tunnels. The "chilled monkey brains" were made from custard and raspberry sauce. The giant Thuggee Chief is played by Pat Roach, who also played the German mechanic fighting with Indy near the plane in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). It was meant to be something of a running joke in the series to have Roach's character fight with Indy and always losing, but his role in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) was largely cut, and he died before Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) was made. The "giant vampire bats" that are shown in the movie were fruit bats. Vampire bats are a lot smaller. There are two theories about the heart removal. One theory is that Mola Ram didn’t actually rip out the heart - it was a mass hypnosis type of thing where the people watching the sacrifice saw the heart being ripped out when it wasn’t. Supporting evidence of this theory comes later on when Mola Ram performs a similar ceremony on Willie (Kate Capshaw), but doesn’t rip her heart out. During that attempt, we see what is “really” happening - Mola Ram just holds his hand up as if he’s holding a heart but isn’t. The flaw in the theory is that the first time around, Indiana (Harrison Ford), Willie, and Shorty (Ke Huy Quan) all seemed to witness the actual heart removal. There’s no reason for them to be at the mercy of mass hypnosis as unknown bystanders of the event. Additionally, Mola Ram threatens to tear Indy’s heart out during the bridge scene at the end, implying it’s something he can actually do. A second, more agreeable idea is that it was a form of black magic, which is something that explains many of the oddities in Temple of Doom. Black magic was used to keep the guy alive as he plunged to his death, despite having no heart. Simple enough, and on par with the suspension of disbelief required for films of this nature.
