Just wanted to let you all know that I didn't fully recover from my illness and had to back to hospital 😢 Please don't worry though I'm out now and back to almost 100% apart from being sleep deprived! I had a sleep talker in the bed next to me 🤣

Anyway! My plan is to figure out what the new schedule will be tonight and I can post tomorrow what's coming up. I'm a bit behind so I'll try my very best to get back on track. This has made me realise how much I need an editor and I'll be actively looking for one starting now. Wish me luck finding the right one 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Lets make a list of Christmas movies we can start watching. I do have suggestions from the last two years but as you know Patrons carry a lot more weight when deciding what to watch so let me know your favourites! Or!! If you're not a fan of the traditional Christmas movies, what movie do you like to watch this time of the year?

I'll finish off by saying please please don't worry about me 🥰 I see I have A LOT of messages to go through (I'll catch up with you all very soon) I promise I'm feeling a tonne better and back to my usual self 😁

Men of Honor will blow you away.

JL Green

So sorry to hear that lady, but relieved that you're on the mend. Sending positive vibes your way!!!

Dean J

For Christmas movies I vote for Gremlins (1984) and Remember the Night (1940)

Gary Mackley-Smith

Take it easy and don't try and do too much ♥️♥️

Mike LL

So relieved to hear you are doing better! Best wishes to you!

Henry Graham

I hope you make a full recovery soon! Take it easy. My favourite Christmas movies (that you haven't already reacted to): 1. Remember the Night (1940) 2. Eyes Wide Shut (1999) 3. The Man who Came to Dinner (1942) 4. Black Christmas (1974) 5. The Silent Partner (1978)

timeless_realm

Please take good care of yourself first. Also, I’m not a fan of traditional Christmas movies unless, of course, you are the reviewer

Richard Stokes

Glad to hear your doing better Dawn, you take it easy, early Christmas for you starting now! Gremlins is a great Christmas movie, lots of fun!

kajota

I'm not sure if Trading Places is a Christmas movie but Dan Aykroyd dresses as Santa and hides a salmon under his Santa beard so that's close. That's my Christmas movie vote.

Chicago Artist Jon

Take your time. I’m home recovering from surgery so yeah I can relate. “A Christmas Story” 1983 Peter Billingsley is a fun holiday watch.

Scott

🥰🌹love you bunches chicklet! White Christmas is my go to among others...

Richard Stokes

On the non Christmas list is Donni Darko and then the directors cut of it to try and figure out what the hell is going on in it! Keeps me busy! A great Christmas series is the box of delights, it's for kids but it quite scary in parts and has a really good Christmas feel to it

Joshua White

Glad you're well. Happy holidays, friend. As for recommendations, I think you will love Meet Me In Saint Louis. It's charming beyond belief and contains one of the most iconic Christmas songs in the canon: Have Yourselves A Merry Little Christmas.

Celeste McAllister

Dawn, I have 'Holliday Inn' 1942 'The Nativity Story' 2005 'A Christmas Carol' 1984...my Christmas suggestions. :)

Robert Jewell

Thankful you have recovered. My friend in Edinburgh says it's been pretty chilly in Scotland with snow and such so stay bundled. Not sure which Christmas movies you've already seen, but my favorites are REMEMBER THE NIGHT (1940), IT'S A WOND RD FUL LIFE (1946), MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (1947) and A CHRISTMAS STORY( 1983). ♥️ and Best Wishes 🤚

Jimmy Walker

1949 - Holiday Affair and 1954 - White Christmas are two great Christmas movies. If i was in your shoes looking for the perfect editor I would think hard about teaching my daughter what to do and how I would like it to be done, yes I would pay my daughter the same as i would pay out of house editor. that is my two cents.

Robert Jewell

Oh, and there are shorter made for TV stories like A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS and RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER.

Zack Gallardo

Oh my gosh please watch a Christmas story. I'll watch it any time of year!

Dryfesands

Whatever happens just get well soon! And also . . . have you ever seen "The Great Escape"? I've no idea how it ended up being a traditional Christmas Movie in the UK . . . but it is superb.

Bill W

Seinfeld - Season 9, Episode 10 "The Strike" (aka Festivus) (22 minutes) Seinfeld - Season 6, Episode 10 "The Race" (Commie Santa) (22 minutes) A Christmas Story (1983) White Christmas (1954) Home Alone (1990) Home Alone 2 (1992) A Christmas Carol (1951) A Christmas Carol (1984) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) Elf (2009) The Ref (1994) Animated/Stop Motion classics: Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966- 25 minutes) A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965- 25 minutes) Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (1964 - 52 minutes) Frosty The Snowman (1969 - 25 minutes) Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (1970 - 51 minutes)

Ted Little

For Christmas, I would suggest "A Christmas Carol" 1952; by far the most Dickensian of the versions and with a great performance by Alistair Sim.

Bartleby

Wishing you the best of health Dawn Marie!! By the way, your reaction to Outlaw Josey Wales has been doing phenomenal. You can see in the comments a lot of people found your channel with your reaction video to that movie. “Edward Scissorhands” (1990) Perfect film for Christmas!

Mr. Writhms

Feel better! That's all that counts! ✌️

Hunter DeRensis

I think you'd get a real kick out of Scrooged (1988) with Bill Murray, which is personally my favorite Christmas movie and I think the best rendition of Dickens' story. And like other commenters, I highly recommend The Shop Around the Corner (1940), Holiday Affair (1949), and A Christmas Story (1983).

Bartleby

She already watched The Shop Around the Corner. The video is up on her channel.

Jordan Love

The Ref (1994) Violent Night (2022) We're No Angels (1955) Bad Santa (2003) Gremlins (1984)

Glenda Kennedy

So glad you’re feeling better! A couple of old Chris movie greats are Christmas in Connecticut and The Bishop’s Wife with Carey Grant!

James UK

Agreed, but we need to add Zulu to that list for the same reason.

David Patterson

'One Magic Christmas' (1985) with Mary Steenburgen (BTTFIII) and Harry Dean Stanton (Alien) 'Comfort and Joy' (1984), a Scottish film starring Bill Paterson (Baron Munchausen) and loosely based on family anecdotes from Peter Capraldi. Takes place around, but not about, Christmas. Also, I just watched 'Candy Cane Lane' with Eddie Murphy which just premiered last week. Not spectacular, but clever enough to warrent a watch.

Jeff Barnes

A Christmas Story, Black Christmas(1974). I see The Great Escape has been mentioned and I'll say this is a must watch.

Louis Marzullo

That's a great idea! I remember Carmen appearing in the Silly Walks Monty Python reaction & thinking out loud "What an amazing kid! Chip off the old block!" She appears to have Mom's sense of humor & sensibilities, Silly Walking her way out of the room! 😂 P.S. Thank God you're OK ❤️

Louis Marzullo

Also How the Grinch Stole Christmas & The Year Without a Santa Claus (Is that the one with Heat Miser & Cold Miser??) And Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Louis Marzullo

My top 3 would be Scrooge (1951, Alastair Sim), The Bishop's Wife (1947, Cary Grant) & It's a Wonderful Life (1946, James Stewart) every year! 🎄🎄🎄

Jeremy Vickers

March of the wooden soldiers!! And I am so glad you doing better. All my best wishes to you!

Louis Marzullo

OMG! YES!! Can't believe I forgot that one! May be titled "Babes in Toyland". As long as Laurel & Hardy are in it, you know you have the right one!

Robert Jewell

Oh, yes, definitely How the Grinch... Good save. Slipped my mind for some reason. Those ones are great fun too.

Elliot Nesterman

So happy to hear you are doing well. I have a soft spot for "Pocketful of Miracles (1961). It stars Bette Davis, Glenn Ford, and Peter Falk. It's a real charmer.

john ruddick

I feel your pain Dawn I had a sleep talker opposite me when I broke my back it can be infuriating but you can't help but feel sorry for them at the same time. Nobody ever wants to be there. We all hope you get some well deserved sleep. xxx xxx don't worry we're not going anywhere 😇😋

john ruddick

Gremlins is a great movie I love it as a kid it still holds up today. Gismo can forever!!!

james flack

"I Married an Ax Murderer" with Mike Myers. The classic get-well movie for all ailing laddies and lassies. Just sayin'....🤗😎❣️P.S. Get well first, Dawn, then look for a classic Christmas film to watch.

Chicago Artist Jon

Die Hard with Bruce Willis is also billed as a Christmas movie even though it’s an action film.

Bill W

The Grinch and Charlie Brown are both only 25 minutes. Maybe we can get both with full length reactions. (Not watch-along, but actual PiP reactions)

Bartleby

And Charlie Chaplin’s “The Gold Rush” (1925) is perfect for New Years.

Eric Janssen

And while 1984's George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol" is unquestionably the best, we like to get first timers to watch the 1951 Alastair Sim version, since it's the closest thing to a spooky noir-ish B&W horror film without being the psychotic '09 CGI film.

Ceryk

Sorry you couldn't get any rest in the hospital.

Bill Bryant

Totally agree! The 1951 version of Scrooge with Alastair Sim is the best one. But I think the movie was renamed "A Christmas Carol" - according to IMDB.

Louis Marzullo

That reminds of the Pink Floyd album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, with Syd Barrett. Is there a connection or just a Bob Ross-style "happy accident"? 😃

Simon

Great to hear from you, and glad you're on the mend.

Bill W

On another channel, people are voting for the the 1970 musical "Scrooge". It's ridiculous.

james flack

What exactly is a sleep talker? Is it someone who talks in their sleep or an awake person who is talking to you, when you are trying to sleep? Former or latter. Just wonderin'..🤔

james flack

Another channel? Another channel? You mean there are other beautiful, talented Scotswomen with intoxicating laughs and impeccable tastes out there? 🤔🤗

Louis Marzullo

Has to be the former. The latter is referred to as an "asshole", I believe. I looked it up... Initially, I thought Dawn was talking about Scott & suggested she get earplugs 🤦🤣

james flack

Language, Louis (refer to my thumbnail GIF). 😊

Louis Marzullo

Checked with Dawn, she's OK with it ☺️. So is Dennis Nedry (that thumbnail is funny as f***! But do they call those "avatars"?)

Bill W

Louis- I'm surprised you haven't seen it. It didn't do well in theaters, but gained a cult following.. Get a viewing in so we can all badger Dawn.

Louis Marzullo

That's what it was- sometimes I depend on reviews too much. Usually "rule of 3"; 3 critics I respect pan it & I dust it, at least until it gains a cult following 😁

Ethan Firl

Welcome back. Best of health to you.

Retro Maven

Sent you a note. Glad you are feeling better!!

Captain Caveman

Muppets Christmas Carol was always one of my favorites.

Bill W

Bill, I think it may still be called "Scrooge" in the UK. But, yeah that's the best one with the '84 made for tv version with George C. Scott a very close 2nd. Dawn has already reacted to It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Die Hard and A Christmas Carol (1971 animated version)

Louis Marzullo

Christmas episode of The Honeymooners - 'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Louis Marzullo

The first "Wonderful Life" reaction doesn't count. It was good but I need a re-do. Worth a shot! Anyone else with me on that?

Mark Crawford

My alternative Xmas movies are not actually Xmas movies at all - they're just big movies that happened to have their TV premiere during the Xmas period. You're way too young to remember this, but there was a time when millions of us would eagerly get the Xmas editions of the TV Times and the Radio Times just so we could discover what celluloid goodies were coming to the small screen in the last two weeks of December. It was a different time, where scarcity built anticipation... So, yes, just because it was a delightful find one dreich December evening in Dundee, Down and Out In Beverley Hills remains an Xmas movie for me... even though it has feck all to do with Xmas!

Eric Janssen

Toss it in with Twilight Zone's "Night of the Meek", and we could do a festival of classic-TV Christmas episodes. Unless she wants to stick to Britcoms, and we can also do Blackadder's Christmas Carol and Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean.

Louis Marzullo

For TV episodes, I love The Odd Couple from season 1 & All in the Family where Mike's friend from Canada visits (RIP, Norman Lear❤️)

Louis Marzullo

Interesting little factoids (probably only to me)- I could've sworn Natasha Lyonne was in "Down & Out in B.H." but, of course, that was "Slums of B.H." And Richard Dreyfuss was the foil in both "Down & Out" & "What About Bob?", which perhaps is the reason I confuse them with each other. Oh, well...

Louis Marzullo

😄😘 Now on a genuinely interesting note, wasn't Dawn supposed to post a schedule for the rest of the month this past Wed? Anyone know what became of that? Hope it's not 🤒 again...

Louis Marzullo

There's at least a couple more she's already seen that've been suggested- Miracle on 34th St. & It's a Wonderful Life, although I'm campaigning for a 2nd watch of George Bailey, et al

Bartleby

No word since her last post here. If you see this Dawn. Feel free to postpone Superman 2 till next month as that was a Patreon exclusive anyway. Sure you want to squeeze in whatever Christmas movies you can this month. And if you want to squeeze in a Christmas movie and potentially a New Years movie (“The Gold Rush” anyone) 😉 before Blade Runner and Apocalypse Now, that’s fine. BR and AN aren’t exactly Christmas movies. Your health is first and foremost Dawn. Don’t kill yourself trying to keep up. Rest when you need rest.

Louis Marzullo

I'm thinking Dawn keeps jumping back with both feet into all of her regular activities before she's 100% recovered & relapses. Hope to God she's not in hospital again 🙏

Louis Marzullo

The first Google entry for that title is a schlocky serial-killer flick 🤣. Then I found the right one ☃️

Simon

Lethal Weapon yet or Batman Returns. Both have Christmas-ish settings
