In Billy’s bedroom they were watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), which is a movie worth watching. Also in Billy’s bedroom when Gizmo is watching the race car movie, that’s To Please a Lady (1950), not really a good movie, both Clark Gable and Barbara Stanwyck have much better movies that should be watched. At the inventors’ convention, when he’s on the phone, behind him is the time machine from The Time Machine (1960), an interesting movie. Also, the robot that walks by is Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet (1956), which is worth seeing.

Skip over her chimney story with your kids. It really has nothing to do with the movie.

The deputy sheriff (Mike in Breaking Bad played by Jonathan Banks) was also in Beverly Hills Cop.

Dawn Marie, you asked about one of the black and white films featured in Gremlins. It’s not one you need to see, but the actor, Clark Gable, stars in two movies that are absolute must sees for anyone getting into classic movies. “It Happened One Night” is a charming romantic comedy adventure that has been very influential in the history of cinema. “Gone With The Wind” is a gorgeous, sweeping epic of the old American South. It’s widely regarded as the most important/greatest film of all time, and justifiably so. It was a monumental achievement, and a big leap forward for cinema. If there’s one film I wish I could watch again for the first time, it’s “Gone With The Wind.” You’ll probably recognize some of its iconic lines and moments, even if you’ve never seen it. It’s a real feast. I really hope you’ll react to it.
