Movie Run Time: 1:40:15

You will need your own copy of the movie to watch along! 😁

Happy New Year to you all when it comes and I hope it's a good one 😊 It's going to be a good one here! I'm well underway with finding an editor to help with the work load and avoid situations like the past month and a bit!

I'm going to put Die Hard 2 and Trading Places back on the shelf for now and start fresh in January! With the festivities and family visiting it's been a busy time to end the year. The Patron Pick for December will be the first upload of the New Year and it's a good one. The name of it is related to a compass 🧭 I'll leave that for you guys to figure out! Don't worry they'll still be a January Patron Pick as well. I'll get onto that soon!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this reaction and I'll see you all next year 🤪 Happy Hogmanay 🥳

Whatever editor you work with, hope they know and understand the movies they’re working on and the bits that made them iconic. And I hope they get enough of you and your particular personality and what’s made you so fun to watch for your viewers. HAPPY NEW YEARS Dawn Marie!!! 🎉 🎊 🎉

"I am but mad north-northwest: when the wind is southerly, I know a hawk from a handsaw." From Hamlet .. it may or may not have to do with a certain movie title. Happy New Year!

Dawn, I agree. This is a lot of peoples' favorite and they consider it a "classic". I never thought much of it, pretty much for all the reasons you said. His "Scrooginess" was over the top and all the plot elements were forced or rushed. His ex comes back after 15 years and she's immediately ready to get back together??!! Come on. Another movie that came out about the same time was wayyy funnier. Christmas Vacation (1989; Chevy Chase) - You already saw the first Vacation movie. They did a "European Vacation" that was just ok, then the Christmas one.

Bobcat Goldthwaite is the actor you really enjoyed, Dawn. He is best known for being in Police Academy 2, 3, & 4 (I don’t think you watched #1 yet but maybe you have on your own). He has a number of comedy specials from the 80s/90s and also wrote and directed a film called Shakes the Clown which was not well received but has a cult status for some. Otherwise he has done lots of guest spots here and there and mostly does voices for animated things these days.

That's Bobcat... His voice really is like that... but even more so! 😊

I think we just like this movie for the comeuppance! Just waiting for him to be clobbered by the ghost. The memorable shot is the dead guy in the sewer. Somehow that says it all. On a list of hit or miss this would be on the miss side... but when you've run out of Christmas movies this kinda worms its way in for a viewing now and then.
