REVELATIONS 6:8 "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth." BTW..Dawn, that color/pattern of Clint's horse is called "dapple gray".

Bill W

Marshall Stockburn is Nathan Burdette from Rio Bravo McGill is Capt. Devane from tv series Hunter. Deputy Mather is Frank Nitti from The Untouchables (film). and we all know Chris Penn and Richard Kiel. ("Jaws" from James Bond, "Frankenstein" from Happy Gilmore).

Bartleby

Haven’t watched your reaction to it so I don’t know if you mentioned it or not. But did you catch the similarities between Pale Rider and another western you watched not too long ago, “Shane” Eastwood’s homage to that classic.

Chicago Artist Jon

Not mirror. Mare is an adult girl horse. Stallion boy horse. Gilding use to be a boy horse but is now missin' some bits.

Bartleby

And related to the theme of gold prospecting, see the Charlie Chaplin film, “The Gold Rush” (1925) One of his most famous classics.

Bill W

*gelding for forming all-horse choirs, so they can sing the high solo in Ave Maria. 😀

JL Green

Yep! A bloody ghost he is! 😆

Louis Marzullo

Jules Winfield could've gone with this passage, too. Same effect! Now time for some early Metallica. Serious question, Bill: Has F.A.K. covered them? Too bad Dawn can't use "Four Horsemen" as the outro music for this reaction. They like to sue 🧐

james flack

Dawn, gold is one of the softer metals.

Chicago Artist Jon

4 oz of gold back then would be about $70. Today it would be over $8,000.

Bill W

Yes, plus it was still housed inside the rock. Still had quite a bit of chipping and grinding to do to get out clean gold.

Louis Marzullo

Remember that flick about the Castrati, boys whose nuts were cut off to keep their voices high for the church choir? What was that called?

Bartleby

I nominate “Hang ‘Em High” (1968) for the next Clint Eastwood western. “Stagecoach” (1939) for the next John Wayne western. “The Wild Bunch” (1969) for the next non Wayne non Eastwood western.

Bill W

"My friend Bob Sacamano came in here last year for a hernia operation...."

Bill W

Hang em High... they snuck Dennis Hopper and Bruce Dern in there. Stagecoach- the Duke alongside the oldest Carradine, and in the Cowboys with the youngest Carradine.

Manny

Ooo....oooo...oooo... do "Two Mules For Sister Sarah" next....it's a great Eastwood movie !!!!

Bill W

...and things work out for him exactly the same in both pictures!😀

Manny

IF......you do "Two Mules For Sister Sarah"......just remember, in the 1860s....France invaded Mexico.

Manny

I freakin' miss that film...thanks for making me remember it...I believe I'll watch it now...Sister Dawn🍻

Bill W

I'm aware of the Outlaws, but don't really know their music...along with that whole group... Nitty Gritty, Burrito Bros, etc.. My older brother used to like Commander Cody, but I only know their cover of Doug Kershaw's "Diggy Liggy Lo". Cash, I just know his hits (16 Big Hits is a good CD to start with), some of his Gospel stuff, and a handful of songs from his American albums with Rick Rubin.

Louis Marzullo

"Green Grass & High Tides" from The Outlaws I'm sure you know. I only have Cash's live CD at Folsom Prison, which is amazing. I'll see what else YouTube has to offer.

Louis Marzullo

👍👍👍 Nice! I got some strong Bonnie Raitt vibes & even a dash of Georgia Satellites (that Keep Your Hands to Yourself ditty), among others. They wear their influences well & proudly. Jesus, Georgia. They really crank 'em out down there! I thought that was a young Michael Stipe on her shirt but then it looked more like young John Mellencamp (I know he's from IN). Good stuff!

Bill W

It's a fun song. Most of their stuff that I've heard was bluesier and heavier. Yeah it's a 'John Cougar Mellencamp' shirt.

Louis Marzullo

Wow, bluesier & heavier? Now you're talkin' my language! Btw, Mellencamp was my first-ever concert. 1988, Meadowlands, N.J. arena. I was 22, late bloomer. What was yours?

Bill W

Also in a football stadium. McCartney 'Flowers In The Dirt' tour. Late July 1990. Soldier Field. Even by the lake it was hot as balls.

Louis Marzullo

Wow, impressive! But mine was the indoor 20,000-seat arena in the complex, where the N.J. Devils & Nets played. We had A/C! Btw, are you a Blackhawks' season tix holder?

Louis Marzullo

Saved reaction for today. Yesterday was madness! You're right, Dawn, the story is an Evergreen, as long as the component parts are top-notch... Please add "Bang the Drum Slowly" to list. Co-stars Michael Moriarty (Hull in Pale Rider) & Robert DeNiro, in a role that explodes the myth that he only plays gangsters & psychos. Can't wait for Bourne, Part 2!

Bill W

Oh yeah I didn't think of that. I just assumed it was Giants Stadium. Season Tix? No you're mistaking me for some other independently wealthy Patron. 😀 Actually tickets are somewhat reasonable right now, but that's because the Hawks are dead last. Here's a better idea of what Larkin Poe can do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1sniBGlKLI

Manny

I don't see my posts about "Two Mules For Sister Sarah"??? THATS THE film Dawn reminded me to watch. Go on then Sister Dawn...do that one next. It's an Eastwood western.

Bill W

He was neither gangster nor psycho in The Mission...but he seemed kind of out of place.

Louis Marzullo

Oh sure, there's plenty. That's why it's a myth. I just meant "here's one great example". I agree about The Mission

Louis Marzullo

I. Am. Shooketh! Dang, they're good. The vibrato in the lead singer's voice went straight into my... chest. What is she, like a 2nd Alto?? Great stuff! Are you familiar with an all-female band from the 70's named "Fanny"? Two Filipino-American sisters on guitar & bass & 2 other ladies on drums & keys. They're on YouTube, including 2 great covers- Hey Bulldog & Ain't That Peculiar? Bowie loved them

Bill W

Yeah, I know June and Jean Millington, Alice DeBurr on drums and Nikki Barclay on keys. Nikki played with Mad Dogs and Englishmen for a spell. First all-female rock band..before The Runaways, before Heart even. They do a Randy Newman song called "Last Night I Had a Dream" with Nikki on vocals. It's killer.

Louis Marzullo

Just experienced 'Blood Harmony' official video. Officially addicted, like carbs! 🍕🍟🥞

Bill W

Sometimes the youtube algorithm works. I kept getting them in my recommended videos to the point where it felt like nagging. Finally I gave in and watched them... it was an impromptu cover of "Fortunate Son". Instantly hooked. (edit).. or maybe it was "Black Betty". I don't remember.

Bill W

Another one that kept coming up was this girl Moriah Formica, who, at one point had been a contestant on both American Idol and The Voice. She was just doing karaoke covers to 80s metal/hard rock that her Dad got her into. But she also had original songs that she recorded on her own with studio musicians that were impressive. In 2019 she started doing collaborations with another youtuber - drummer Brooke C. They got 2 more girls on guitar and bass and formed a band called Plush. Their sound is like post-grunge heavy metal mixed with 80s metal and classic hard rock.

John Liebling

Pale Rider came out in 1985...Ricard Dysart is Coy LaHood and 5 years later he's the barbed wire salesman in Back To The Future Part III.

Louis Marzullo

He played Edith's cousin's husband, Russell DeKuiper, on an episode of All in the Family. Hilarious
