My theory about inoue being more in love with the idea of Nao then noa himself seemed to be right! I think the same thing is true with Arashi as well. They both think he is attractive, they appreciate his hobbies, and they like when he is friendly. But they don’t seem to understand Nao on a deeper level like Souta does. Souta seeing Nao lows as well as his highs is precisely why Souta doesn’t want to confess, unlike the other two. He doesn’t think Nao needs that now.

INOUEEEE MY POOR BABY 😭 I’m glad she was able to confide with Souta about how her ideation of Nao came crashing down on her. It’s certainly a hard pill to swallow. And I’m loving this parallel to the summer fireworks, if that serves right, Souta might just confess he likes Nao as well. Because if anything, I see Inoue being understanding to his feelings. So I just realized that Inoue and Arashi are (technically) the same character(in terms of liking Nao). But remember when Inoue got rejected by Nao(granted, Nao was going through his mother's death, but you get what I mean), she started rolling back her attempts at asking him out and has become a better person because of it. And that is why I think that when Nao says no to Arashi, and she is going to go the complete opposite direction of Inoue and start either doubling down on her "attempts" or start taking it out on Nao's friends.

So the chapter this title is illumination huh. So…. We getting a confession from arashi during the illumination this chapter 🫣 Pleaseeeeee. I wanna know how Nao is gonna react. We’ve seen him shoot down a confession before, but that was when he was really hurt. I wonder how he will react this time? Will he be hurt? Because he thought arashi was a good friend he could confide in? Will he be surprised? Since it seems she’s not even on his radar? Will he be happy? (Doubt it lmao) and if Nao rejects arashi (istg if he doesn’t 👹) how will arashi react? Will she leave it be like inoue? Or will she double down? Or lash out? What do yall think?! My comments cannot always be inoue I love you. Therefore I’ll say: Inoue you majestic adorable wonderful person. I’m so sorry you went through all this, I’m so glad you’re feeling better about it now. I know you’ll listen to Souta’s confession and be super understanding. Can’t wait for him to be supported by you. Souta really need to get it out of himself. I know you can welcome it as well as he has welcomed your confession at the festival last summer. I need Inoue to completely heal over her feels and hurt. And Souta need the same. I’m wondering if she’ll tell him like sorry we’re the same blah or if she’ll tell him not but your different, trust. Idk. Or something else entirely.

I think Inoue knew something of Nao that Nao didn’t want to be anymore. Didn’t want people to see in him anymore. (Kindness) And after he learned about his mother’s death, he was back to being mean because of the throwback and Inoue’s confession was even harder to bear for him because of that. Even though she had real bad timing, he was way too harsh and violent this day (toward her and Souta). Who is responsible for not getting Nao through therapy all this time! I think a teacher should’ve warned the father but I’m quite confident he wouldn’t have done anything because that’d have meant accepting he’s done something wrong. And at that time he looked like a person who wasn’t able to acknowledge when he’s responsible. AINA. GET THAT CHILD TO A THERAPIST HE NEEDS HELP.

it’s interesting she brings up the fireworks moment a couple chapters back…bc that was when she confirmed she liked Nao (which then proceeded with a fantasy kiss scene between Souta and Nao 👀where the two of them had also been distant 👀 maybe this time it will be real???) and i wonder if we’re gonna have a parallel scene where Souta reveals he likes Nao to her 🥺

Awwwww I’m so glad that Souta smiled again… and that they’re discussing these things. Inoue is very perceptive as well… I’m sure that she’ll know Souta has feelings for Nao in these upcoming chapter whether or not he confesses it to her. The title of the chapter is very clever too haha… Aina is truly a writing genius. Illumination through introspection, shedding light on their situation and illuminating decisions they’re going to make in the future from this point on. Inoue’s choice to truly give up is the first one… I wonder what Souta’s will be. They also… didn’t go far from the ferries wheel. Although… with everything going on I hope that Inoue and Souta get to have fun together and grow even close as friends, not only for Souta’s sake but to make Nao jealous heheh 😈. I wonder if they’re going to call Souta and Inoue to see where they all because they did disappear… perhaps they’ll call when they finally get seats for the illumination. I can’t wait for next week’s chapter!! Also, special thanks to you Aina! This updated during my bio test and I was freaking out because I didn’t know what time it was. But then I knew this was going to update during it and when I felt the vibration from my phone I knew it was 7:00pm where I am since it always updates that time for me! ❤️

This comic brightened my day so quickly. I love how emotionally mature Inoue really is. She may be petty at times, shown by her attempt at sabotaging Nao and Arashi's time together, but she is also still very well-adjusted. The fact that she's willing to accept "defeat" in this case is a lot more than quite a few teenagers could say. I'm also wondering if Souta will tell Inoue about either of his crushes. I do hope that they can bond over liking Nao, but I also like the idea of Souta being like "so hey I actually used to like you." I still REALLY hope to see Keisuke and Nao talk but that'll be more of a surprise if it does happen. Very curious to see if maybe Nao will overhear any part of their conversation? I also wonder if the group is trying to find them at all right now. I'm very excited to see where the story goes next! I cannot express enough how much this comic and its characters mean to me. Thursdays are some of my favorite days just because IDCC updates. Thank you, Aina!! <3

I love this comic so much! I really like the juxtaposition of Inoue and Souta. Inoue liked the idea of Nao, but not necessarily who he really is, and at the start, Souta didn’t like the idea of Nao, but fell in love with who he actually is. It’s just so cuteee! Just something I noticed.

i think this might be my favorite page so far. i love that she’s coming to terms with her infatuation of Nao. it can be super heartbreaking when you feel like you can never reach the person you desire so much. it reminds me of my own experience with limerence and how it messed me up really bad back in high school, lol. thank you author.🤍

This is exactly the kind of confession I was hoping for! I love Inoue, for one, because she's so mature. The fact that she can recognize her pain and still be willing to move on from it is can be really complex concept for teenagers. It makes me wonder is Arashi would be the same way if she were to get rejected? This curiosity mainly comes from the amount of times Arashi has blatantly (if obliviously) interrupted Nao's time with his friends, as well as almost completely disregarding said friends (Souta). I am so psyched to see the rest of this portion of the narrative. Will they bond more over this? Will Inoue encourage Souta to go for it with Nao? Ooooooo this'll be fun!!!
