a harmless mistake in my opinion, he probably didn’t know anything about what’s happening with nao and his family, he could’ve worded it better yes, but this seemed more like nao directing his anger toward him after realizing that his mom came but didnt come to his game🤕🤕

I was really curious as to how you would depict Nao losing his cool and fighting with Sawada Yuu. Yuu triggered Nao's last thread of staying calm and collected to break. Nao was pushed to accept that his Mom left the house a while back and promised to come to the game, but did not attend his game even though she was in town + did not explain why she did not/could not attend. Poor Nao was unknowingly pushed by Yuu's poor choice of words to accept the loss of a parent due to his parents' separation and possibly another unknown reason. Oooo Nao's pent up frustration, pain, anger, grief, etc. I can feel it. Hats off to the way you depicted this scene (visually and via dialogue)!

Oh my gosh, I understand so much now. 😭😭💔 First and foremost why Sawada is so hurt. I knew there was more to that story that had to explain his absolute hurt at losing his friend. He just kept saying they were just talking when Nao punched him but Sawada was really trying to connect with his friend and help him. That little squat down to give Nao all his attention. 😫💖 He was just a sweet little middle schooler and unknowingly used one iffy word. It was a complete accident and this poor baby was so confused after. Still is. Confused and hurt. I can also understand now why it was so hard for Nao to explain or apologize for that. He was also just a middle schooler with no one to help him express his emotions. That panel of him snapping was perfect. All that sadness, anger, hurt, and confusion just flowed out of him in that one moment. Emi got a bit of it out when their mom left but Nao had been trying so hard to be brave. That poor friendship. There is no way Nao was going explain what happened to Sawada after the fact and apologize without someone at home to talk to. He's drowning in feelings and doesn't know which was is up. I don't know if his dad is going to pick him up from school but I'm sure he's not going to be much help on the emotional expression scale. AAAAAHHHHH!!! Aina, as always you do such a marvelous job at depicting emotions and carrying out your plot. This one scene has been discussed for so long and it surpassed the hyped! Now I'm more excited to get back to the present cause I want to see them make up. 🥺 But I know you have other great things in-store for this flashback so I'll wait. 🍿👀😗
