Mafuyama

Why doesn’t she just tell him the truth? :( If she’s sick, shouldn’t her kids know? I mean, personally, I /WOULD wanna know if my mom is seriously ill or something.

Clarita

people really think that keeping certain things a secret protects the other person like NO it just hurts 😞

Janaysah

He's prob so hurt :(

Vitória

Nao 😭😭 I feel so sorry for him, he deserved to know whatever was going on 😔

Tink

And he never knew what happened? Poor kid...No wonder he harboured some level of resentment towards his mum :( Nao totally deserved to know and not go through this pain. I felt a pang seeing those tears...PROTECT THIS BOY AT ALL COSTS!

hani✨

As striking as these chapters were, I'm sorta glad we're getting to the end of the flashback. No time like the present amiright? It's gonna be awful seeing Nao upset in the present though😢

Basil

Oh no… my heart.. it’s broken

rae of sunshine

someone give nao the biggest hug immediately or i will sob

Aicha Camara

He deserves to know the reason though🥺

DearNeptune!

Okay, but ma'am, were you at the game? Cause that changes things just a slight bit. It doesn't make up for you leaving early, but changes things a little. This poor, beat-up child! She thinks she's saving him by not telling him everything but from personal experience, my education, and his current/future suffering it's only making things worse! I wish they got the chance to talk. But Aina, you decided to write a well written realistic story and unfortunately people don't always get that chance. 😭

Sora

After re-reading the series to this point I know this is a bit of a clique with these kinds of characters but I truly think Nao is touch-starve. It makes so much sense, like whenever he feels anxious in the later chapters, his first instinct is to go near or grab Souta. Which makes sense. His mom being in is life at an early age to suddenly abandoning him, his father is never home, and his sister does nothing but study, there's no human contact with anyone. Souta mentally knows he likes Nao because he's seen his parents happy and in love and knows what that looks like so he's able to notice when it was happening, while Nao has no healthy example of romantic love in his life and probably by instinct is drawn to Souta but he doesn't know what it means to love someone romantically. Thats probably why he's clinging to Souta a lot in these later chapters because it's the first time he's had physical and emotional human connection in a long time. Sorry didn't mean to type this all out I'm just so enamored with what you've done with these characters! I live for it♥ Can't wait to see more from these two

trunks

This is why I hate the phone! No way she’d let her pride / shame inflict that much trauma on him if she could see that face.

Sweetish

Oh god my poor heart. Literally balling, I’m too emotionally attached to these characters for my own good ahhhh😭

Sen

Seeing Nao trying to hold onto his mother in this part breaks my heart. But I am so glad that I get to visually experience Nao's backstory. It has helped me understand him so much more. Even though I knew about some parts of his past (due to the references made by Yuu and Nao) seeing it really made me realize how wounded and affected he is by his past experiences. Thank you so much for showing us all the details of his past! IDCC is told in such a beautiful realistic manner that I am fully invested. Glad to experience Nao's Middle school days, but definitely looking forward to the end of this segment as I am very concerned about the present Nao who just got a shocking news.

MessusMinnow

This breaks my heart. He just wants his mom to be there for him. It absolutely kills me to see him hurting like this.

Lammy

😭😭😭😭 So much suffering, my heart breaks for them!

Heart Of Bread

I have empathy for his mom, but ma'am, you brought this child into this world. You are supposed to care and love it even at great cost to you. Them's the breaks.
