Leading up to this week, i thought that I'd either feel excited to see romance bloom or disappointed that i saw them cheated out of it. Instead, i feel neither, just an appreciation for another week of classic IDCC writing, which is as brilliant as ever, and fortunately it's proven impervious to all our expectations. I think this is just another way that souta and nao are such lifelike characters - they're true to themselves in how they interact with each other, as if no one is watching. It makes me wonder... as we, the audience, learn to accept them as who they are (characters with feelings and agency instead of a fanservice), will we see them accept themselves for who they are too? I'm super excited now to see how Inoue plays a part in this too!! I have a feeling she'll impress us all! 🥰🥰🥰

I think “just kidding” might be a good sign that Nao is actually interested in Souta too! Because I don’t see why he would joke about him and Souta kissing, seems more likely that he was actually serious about it too but either panicked and tried to save it or he intended to joke because he wanted to test the waters. This is my theory anyway cause I don’t see why he would’ve thought to suggest kissing to a guy even as a joke otherwise. Although I could see guys making jokes like that I guess… in which case I hope Nao either realizes Souta is acting weird and starts watching his actions and becomes more aware of him, thus developing feelings, alternatively that he starts getting jealous of Inoue and realizes his own feelings that way!
