hey! if you're a Rose, you probably already know this, but this morning i dropped my first VO project, a short film called TRUCE. this is my first time working with voices.

when i started making sims stories, i always planned to create with VAs, i just didnt have the resources or understanding of how to craft anything. so i decided to make short stories (KanaHana, if you remember, which turned out to be a much bigger project than i intended. My Neighbor is a Dogboy! was also something i crafted for practice).

eventually i started working on DoRo as a way to sharpen my storytelling skills by working on a simpler narrative. as you know, it ended up being much much bigger than i anticipated, and i veered a little off course for a couple years.

all this to say, voice over exclusivity was the original goal for me. but i want to know your thoughts, if you've seen it or not. feel free to elaborate in the comments, all opinions are welcomed here.

you can watch the voice over short here if you haven't yet!

I’m still so obsessed with it. I love me some dub and hope to get more in the futureeee

Subtitles are pretty cool; I have to admit, sometimes I do get a bit lost reading them because I’m trying to watch and read at the same time. I really prefer voiceovers because they add a sense of realism and make the experience more natural. Still, I appreciate whatever you provide us with—it's all wonderful and honestly means a lot.

VO definitely allows me to focus on the visuals a little better, which feels more immersive. But I also greatly enjoy subtitles too. As someone who is a bit hard of hearing subtitles help sometimes.

I prefer both, I like to casually watch but I also like to read, both benefits me in their owns ways
