Ooooohhhh Cannonball Run!!!! 🚗

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

YESSSS DEEP BLUE SEA! Just got the new Limited Edition blu ray yesterday!! Also, The Cannonball Run is amazing!

mikethemotormouth

Time for the best outro song in cinematic history!

Geoff S.

Cannonball Run was just on tv here too! If you like Burt Reynolds I hope hope hope you watch Sharkey’s Machine. I think it’s his best movie and he directed it. It’s a modern noir with a great jazz soundtrack. How is the Fatty diet coming along? Can we call him Slim yet? 🐈

Wayne Downey

Yes I believe Jaws 2 is pretty decent.

DrJonasVenture

Deep Blue Sea is one of my favorite sharksploitation movies. Sam Jackson is great! Cannonball Run is pretty terrible but the cast seems to be having a lot of fun so that makes up for it a bit.

Ian

Oh my alerts have fixed themselves 🙂 deep water what could possibly go wrong lol that should be frigtastic and Jen you're going to have a great time with cannonball run just fantastic. And ofc sein and trek another fantastic week you're the best Jen 🙌

zynjams

cannonball is so funny. lots of famous people from the 60s and 70s. us oldsters will comment if you need help identifying

Summer

Great srar trek this week

Patrick

Cannonball Run is a lot of fun. I love Dom DeLuise. It's complete nonsense and I love it. It has an amazing cast and I can't get enough of the wheezy laughs from Burt and Dom. It's like a live-action Wacky Races. I'm very much a motorbike/car guy and it ticks all the boxes for me.

Jaws 2 (not Spielberg) [IMDb 5.8] is a let down after Jaws (Spielberg) [IMDb 8.1] [AFI Top 100]. "Jaws 2 never approaches the lingering thrills of its classic predecessor, but it's reasonably entertaining for a sequel that has no reason to exist."

Over50Gamer

Deep Blue Sea aka I'm Tired Of These M*kn Sharks In This M*kn Water! And Frame Of Mind is such a cool episode!! 😎 🖖

jon bolton

I look forward to Deep Blue Sea, it's one of my favourite films of 1999. The Storyteller isn't my favourite of Season 1, but i look forward to watching with you. I especially look forward to Frame Of Mind.

Happy Hanukkah

"I know who Burt Reynolds is" Me too. It's the stage name of Turd Ferguson. But seriously, isn't he this little-known actor who appeared in one episode of The X-Files? A young Burt Reynolds in a Twilight Zone episode, lampooning method acting in general and Marlon Brando in particular: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY2OE6vBxQM (By the way, the poll post did not appear in my notifications.)

Drew

Cannonball Run would not be a top Burt suggestion for me (Boogie Nights or Deliverance immediately come to mind, and perhaps Smoky and the Bandit for also a young Sally Field and the connection to a Live and Let Die character you've seen. Hope you enjoy it nonetheless Jen!

nick bell

The Cannonball Run bloopers at the end are the funniest part of the movie.

John Armbruster

All you need to know about Jaws 2 is that the mayor from Jaws was somehow reelected.

Joseph H Searles

The Cannonball Run is a good movie but I prefer The Gumball Rally.

djKENTO

I just got Deep Blue Sea on a gorgeous 4K re-release from Arrow Video. Highly recommend for the fans out there.

Jason Scade

Also, it has..... 'him'.

Jason Scade

That quote you used sums Jaws 2 up perfectly for me. Good call. 👍 It doesn't get anywhere near the excellence of Jaws but you'll still have somewhat thrilling / scared / tense time on 1st viewing, Jen.

Jason Scade

Lots of fun, laughs and excitement in this line-up. I've been waiting 2 years for you to hopefully do The Cannonball Run, absolutely delighted! It's such a madcap, wacky 80s comedy. The cast are perfect. Farrah Fawcett. ♥ It even has a meta '007'. 😅

Jason Scade

Huge +1s for Deliverance. And also Boogie Nights, it is Scorsese-level excellent.

Lee R.

Can't wait for Cannonball Run lol, def need to catch Smokey & The Bandit too!!

Vincent

JM is about to become acquainted with Captain Chaos! 🤣 Now... if only she would watch Porky's at some point.

Stevtrek

I love The Cannonball Run! And yes Gumball Rally was first and better, IMO, but a completely different vibe. The Cannonball Run does have Farrah Fawcett and Adrienne Barbeau - what's not to love. I actually really like Jaws 3 (also released in 3D) - is it possible for you to react to a 3D movie? Would love to see your whole reaction with 3D glasses on, LOL! It is pretty cheesy and low rated (IMDB 3.7), but I liked it. (Dennis Quaid, Louis Gossett Jr., Bess Armstrong, Lea Thompson)

Stevtrek

I have four words for you... Smokey and the Bandit!

Richard Rolen

Can't wait to see your reaction to Deep Blue Sea and yes... as we say down south, The Cannonball Run is a hoot AND a holler! Enjoy!!!

Joe Blankenship

Deepest. Bluest. My hat... is like a shark's fin.

Julian San

Cannonball Run and Deep Blue Sea. Hehehehe

Noremac

Cannonball Run? Now there's an unexpected pick! I never saw Cannonball Run all the way through but I did catch the animated adaptation, Wacky Races.

Eric Janssen

You FOUND Cannonball Run? Haven’t checked streaming, but it’s been MIA lately on disk because of producer/ownership issues. That’s why second-generation kiddies have been subjecting themselves and reactors to the inferior “Cannonball Run II”, which was still available. (I’m not nostalgic for either one—lord did we wish Hal Needham would go away, in the late 70’s/early 80’s—but seriously, the race was a CARTOON in CR2??)

Eric Janssen

There was also “Cannonball” with David Carradine, but…Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise’s version was different. 😛 And unfortunately most people would have to watch 3D YouTube in red/green. (Not everyone still kept their 3DTVs from 2011. 😁). Think YouTube can convert side-by-side 3D into colors, but not sure. And if they could, House of Wax would have to come first.

john reed

frame of mind this week huh . we need a " what the frig " counter in the corner of this video there will be lots of them ha ha

Jason Scade

I'd like to see Sharkey's Machine here. It just got by me on VHS. It's like Burt Reynolds' Dirty Harry?

Geoff S.

In a a way but Sharkey is more vulnerable than Harry is I think. And the film is gritty in a way Harry isn't. It pays homage to a famous noir film from the 1940's that I won't name because it could be a spoiler if you've seen the old one. It's more action oriented in a way than Harry too and the end stunt broke records for highest stunt fall even though the footage wasn't used. I love it because it is so different than the macho type character Reynolds played up till then. And the soundtrack is gold. The film almost makes you want to visit Atlanta. Almost.

Bammer

Cannonball Run! Sweet!
