Make sure you VOTE: Producer's Picks Poll Part 2

This week we're checkin out more Trek and more Sein -- FYI I watched the version of The Raincoats Part 1 + 2 that is one long episode with runtime 42:44 👍 We'll also check out The War of the Worlds (1953) and Maverick - which won the Producer's Pick Part 1 poll so I just decided to watch it. For the remaining picks on the 2 Producer polls I'm looking at total overall votes to decide winner(s)!

My bestest doggo Boston 🐶 had to get some surgery last week so I've been mostly hanging at home with him, extra pets and love while he recovers. Luckily it is amazingly beautiful weather and we can sit outside and he can smell the wind - one of his absolute fav things to do ♡ He was pretty rough at first but he's on the mend today, should be back to his old self soon!

THANK YOU for being here! I hope you know how much I truly love watching stuff with you guys and reading your comments. You are the best!! ♡♡

Hope everyone has a great week! ♡♡♡

xoxo

Jen ♡

Credits will be listed as your name shows on Patreon. If you don't want your name in credits please message me and I'll remove you from list.*Spoilers: PLEASE no spoilers in comments or in direct messages to me. No "hints" or trying to lead me in the right direction or asking if I want to know something. The point of these reactions is for me to discover things as I go and to be surprised. I do my best to return messages but please do not be offended if I do not reply or if replies take a while. Many larger channels hire people to help them answer messages or reply to comments. I read all comments and messages myself, even if I don't have time to reply. If you leave a comment or message please know I received it and I appreciate it.

Great Trek week incoming. Timescape is a tonne of fun and ItHotP is a really good season finale. Gonna be a long wait until the end of the week but it'll be worth it.

Banes

The only one I haven't seen is War of the Worlds - will have to look for somewhere to watch that one; I wanna see it. Very excited about everything else! Best to Boston!

Georgius Agricola

I'll enjoy watching Gene Barry take on the Martians without his cane and derby hat! ;-) I hope Boston gets well soon! Pets like my two cats, siblings who just turned 17, always amaze me with how soon they come home and recover after surgery, as when I had them spayed.

Banes

Nice! I'm a' watchin, thanks!

Georgius Agricola

Re 'Messages and Comments': what can you expect when you are approaching 100k! ;-)

Are 'The Quartermass Pit' and 'The Quartermass Experiment' any good? If I've recalled their names correctly. I've not seen them..

Ian

Narnia TLTWATW is already on the request site with currently 24 votes 👍

Great varied selection again, Jen is in a happy place and most of all thanks to the wonderful skilled vets who took care of Bostdawg. 🏆 🌻 The Sein of a good week ahead, I've always got time for 'The Sh*t'. I'm a fan of Timescape. Beyond delighted for Richard Donner's Maverick! You are the queen of hearts for selecting that. I'm certain you'll have a fun, thrilling ride saddling up with Gibson and Garner*. You know how good Donner is.. Supes, Riggs & Murtaugh, The Goonies, Scrooged... can you believe those first three all came from the same guy and they're all movie characters that you deeply love. RIP Richard Donner. 🌹 He was directing his way to Jen's heart. 💜 Hoping one day we can get to Superman II: The Donner Cut (which is awesome) and also the ultimately-disappointing-but-you'll-want-to-watch-it-once-at-least Superman III. As you've never seen Supes III, I think it will be a lot more thrilling for you than it is to jaded viewers who have watched it 3 to 5+ times. Btw, Donner's breakthrough film was supernatural horror 'The Omen', a massive commercial hit. $60 million box office on a production budget of $3 million. Perhaps that could go on a Halloween poll sometime. *And you'll get to know the wonderfully charismatic James Garner a bit better. You saw him in The Great Escape as Flight Lieutenant Bob Hendley / "The Scrounger". You might get the odd suggestion to watch an ep from one of the things he's most famous for; 'The Rockford Files', a classic American detective series, 1974-1980, six seasons. He was a much-loved person. 🌹 A bit like yourself. This is copy-pasted from his entry on Wikipedia; Longtime friends Tom Selleck (who worked with Garner on The Rockford Files), Sally Field (who starred with Garner in Murphy's Romance), and Clint Eastwood (who guest-starred with Garner on Maverick [50s tv series] and starred with him in the movie Space Cowboys) reflected on his death. Selleck said, "Jim was a mentor to me and a friend, and I will miss him." Field said, "My heart just broke. There are few people on this planet I have adored as much as Jimmy Garner. I cherish every moment I spent with him and relive them over and over in my head. He was a diamond." Eastwood said, "Garner opened the door for people like Steve McQueen and myself."

The ones I’m familiar with, there are a number of them ranging from movies to TV miniseries, are “The Quatermass Xperiment” (1955)(also known as “The Creeping Unknown”) and “Quatermass II” (1957). They are both kind of in the realm of Science Fiction within a sub-genre of horror. The way “Alien” (1979) was a blend of Science Fiction and Horror. As with most British movies of the time, they’re somewhat acquired tastes. For me, I like the first one, “The Quatermass Xperiment” (1955) better.

Miles E Coburn

I think Jen would like "Murphy's Romance" (1985). It's a sweet romantic movie.

Major Peril

She might also like Ladyhawke (1985) another one from Richard Donner.

Jason Scade

👍👍 Anything with Rutger Haur has at least one great thing going for it.

Jason Scade

Murphy's Romance would be a winner. Sally Fields. 😍

Major Peril

Absolutely love Sally Fields. ❤️ 😍 Absence of Malice (1981) with Paul Newman or maybe even Smokey and the Bandit (1977).

Eric Janssen

The real War of the Worlds. Not the one with Tom Cruise and the last soccer-mom station wagon in civilization picking his kids up for the weekend. 🙄🤦‍♂️

Eric Janssen

Quatermass & the Pit is, no exaggeration, considered one of the greatest scifi movies of all time that You’ve Never Heard Of. The third Doctor Who (with Jon Pertwee) was loosely based on the Prof. Quatermass serials, and John Carpenter was such a Quatermass fanboy, he hired the writer for “Halloween III”, and even adopted a suspicious pseudonym to write “Prince of Darkness”.

Greg In East TN

Is Maverick coming soon? I'm anxious to see it! :)
