Geoff S.

I knew you’d love this one!

Summer

Apparently the Enterprise was upgraded with runabouts

Summer

I cannot disclose reasons behind coaking protocols at this time

William Rosmer

I didn't remember them being on a runabout but yeah that is absolutely a runabout

Summer

Yeah, I did not think of how different the shuttle looked in past watches but now I have seen DS9 a lot more than this episode so I guess they replaced the shuttle set with DS9 runabout set, at least I have suddenly realized this

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

This and Starship Mine, along with a couple we haven't hit yet, are probably among my favourite fun action packed style episodes.

rubberkidney

everything loves you jen its like your mutant power

Vina

Yea its def possible the Enterprise could have some, the main shuttle bay is big enough to store some!

Struzzylive

how come she didn't do s6 e24?

Lex

Picard drawing that smiley face was one of those things that was indelibly placed in my memory forever. Literally thought about it (from time to time) for decades. 😂

Goddess of Empathy

Smiley face scene is one of my favourite unhinged Picard scenes!

Sykonee

Fun Fact: this is the first time we get to see the 'lounge' area at the back of a Runabout. It's also the last. Yes, even though Runabouts are kinda' DS9's thing, they never reuse the 'lounge' set again!

Zapp Rowsdower

That last shot of Data watching the boiling pot like he's interrogating it. lol

Banes

time stand still...i'm not lookin' back but i want to look around me now...time stand sti--ahem, sorry. I gotta Rush off now.

Banes

I like that big shuttle set! Er...Runabout set that is. Shuttles have come a long way on this show. I found myself noticing that while rewatching the series with you. Early episodes had characters packed into a tiny little cockpit with a wall right behind them. How did they even get in there? And now we have this flying apartment. I guess they needed more space since so much of the episode took place on the runabout. Pretty cool anyway. I think I could live on that thing!

Aaron Thorpe

This is possibly my favourite episode of TNG. I love it! I remember seeing it when I was around 10 years old and it blew my mind! :D

Paul Peavler

The runabout ship and set were designed for DS9 as a way for the crew to go on extended missions away from the station but not really long term deep space stuff. So it’s bigger than a typical shuttle but not really a ship. That’s why it never showed up on TNG before, that show never really had a big need for it.

Paul Peavler

Honestly the Enterprise’s main shuttle bay is probably big enough to store every runabout on DS9. Ridiculously big.

Ian

Really really enjoyed this one , I feel like this could easily have been extended into a two patter the story definitely had potential to do that . Really wanted to see spot appear and make riker jump ngl that would have been very amusing 😀 . Yeah this was great and as always Jen bought her wonderful sparkle to the reaction , great stuff 🖖

TC Green

Mildly interesting trivia: This is the only appearance of a Starlfeet runabout on TNG

Andrew Roach

The director of this episode is the son of Spock, Leonard Nimoy.

jon bolton

My favourite episode of the Season, and one of my favourite 5 episodes of TNG.

rubberkidney

thought that was the captains yacht

Ryan Fisher

The Enterprise delivered the runabouts for DS9 so they definitely fit. The backstory was that they used this episode to build the cabin set for DS9 off of TNG’s budget as a cost savings measure.

alyssagynepuppy

The reason the "shuttle" is so big, is it isn't a shuttle, it's a runabout, the same that are used in DS9

Brett Whittaker

Have a look at Picards hand just as he enters the room before he touches the fruit bowl

Bobby Coolbreeze

Jen I just wanna say thank you for doing these full length reactions on here. I’m watching episodes i haven’t watched in years and some for like the second time since they originally aired. I was a teenager when ST TNG and DS9 came out TNG was on Saturday night at 7pm and DS9 on Sunday nights 7pm where I’m at in NYC. I feel like I’m reliving those times again. I pretty much seen almost all of them first run. I can wait till we get deeper (no pun intended) into DS9 as it was my favorite show of all the treks. Im looking forward to Sunday nights now as can watch these again along with you! Enjoy!

Just Paul!

Cloaking technology is banned by war pact or treaty or some such... I'm too lazy to look up details. I'm sure another person will fill in the details and tell me if I'm incorrect

George Foot

I always like to think that he turned off his chronometer, and Riker distracted him, and then it did appear to him that the pot boiled more quickly, hence the look of surprise or piqued curiosity

Desmond

Ironically, the only time we ever see the interior cabin of a runabout, on either show.

Clay F

Being initially suspicious of the Romulans was reasonable imo.
