Wasn't expecting this so early but just had my driver side wing mirror smashed off so this will brighten my mood ๐Ÿ––

Gotta treasure every intro throughout the remaining episodes Jen's accompanying the theme tune is legendary and will be missed when she finishes the show . Really good to be continued cliffhanger that was great ๐Ÿ˜ƒ a always love the thumbnail and loved the reaction , brilliant stuff Jen ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ––

I was expecting more what the frigs with the "dead" Picard reveal

Seedy bar scene? MacGuffin chase? Space pirates?? An actiony cliff-hanger??? Hey, who got that retro pulp sci-fi serial into my super serious Star Trek! Also, Double Riker Maneuver!

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

One of my favourite episodes and one of my favourite two parters. I'd make the case, if forced to rank them, that Best of Both Worlds and Chain of Command are probably objectively better, (whatever that means) but I think I enjoy Gambit more. It's just so much fun, very action-y. *Jen voice* I love it!

You've got to stop watching these reactions while you're driving!

Jeremy Nuss

Full-time Ship's Councilor, and part-time empath, Deanna Troi in full form this episode ๐Ÿ˜Š

Rob Nichols

The familiar sounding alien is James Cromwell, the prison warden with the sick wife in The Green Mile, and he was in a couple earlier TNG episodes. "Barada system sounds familiar". Klaatu Barada Nikto. The Romulan woman is Robin Curtis, Saavik in Star Trek 3 and 4. The mercenary leader is Richard Lynch, I don't think he's in anything you've watched. While experimenting with drugs in the late 60's he set himself on fire, he recovered but his scarred face limited him to mostly villain roles.

The Barada sector sounds familiar because that's one of the words used to stop Gort in Day the Earth Stood Still. Haha! The lead bad guy, Richard Lynch, has been in so many other sci fi movies and shows usually as a villain too.

Damn Jen.. these episodes are going by quick ! ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

TC Green

These two episodes are fun for me because they break so much with traditional TNG story telling.

Funny story: Weeks before this episode aired, a Paramount representative gave a slideshow of upcoming episodes at a NY Star Trek convention. He described Gambit as "Riker swears revenge when Picard is killed by a gang of criminals." After a moment of silence in the auditorium, you would believe the guffawing and derisive laughter coming from the audience. "Yeah, sure." was a common remark also repeated.

Anthony Hernandez

This episode contains the longest phaser fight shown on screen in TNG with over seventy shots.

I didnโ€™t realize until today that the bridge of the mercenary ship is a redress of the enterprise Battlebridge

Gambit 1 is kind of oddly structured the way the episode started. But efficient. To me, the Gambit 2-parter are above-average episodes of S7. I like Gambit.
