What is Jen thinking in the thumbnail , reminiscing perhaps 🤔 lots of familiar faces in this one and a musical feast for Jen's ears 🎶🔥🙂

Dylan

So happy you reacted to American Graffiti. Not many people react to this movie and they should.

Summer

Now someone needs to put happy days on the request site,

Clayton Johnson

Guess next month will have to Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley on the request sight. Jen didn't recognize Shirley (Cindy Williams).

The kids at the hop weren't uncool. They were freshmen so they were young. That was John's problem with the kids at the hop.

This movie kicked off the nostalgia for the 1950's that occurred in the mid 1970's. Hence you have cast from Laverne and Shirley and Happy Days in this movie.

Well, now you need to see "Dazed and Confused" -- basically the same premise of this, except being in the '70s and taking place on the *first* day/night of summer of summer break instead of the last.

One of my all-time favorites! A look into who George Lucas really was down deep - a kid from Modesto who loved hot rods and wanted to get out of his little desert town. When you watch Luke in the original "Star Wars" it's the same longing transplanted to outer space. None of the characters are "real" but all are based on people he knew as well as different aspects of his own personality. We could all use a pep talk from the Wolfman to give us that little push to get out into the world.

Or Francis Ford Coppola's "The Conversation," also featuring Harrison Ford.

This was one of my mom's favorites. If a cable channel was playing it then I would make sure it was on that channel on her tv. She loved all the music since she graduated high school in 1960. So all the music was what she loved in her teens.

We need to know what Laurie was watching her brother do.

Stephen Malloy

Suzanne Somers was the dream girl for lots of guys growing up in the seventies.

Curt's check for $2000 in 1961(I know it is supposed to be the early 1960's) Kennedy was president by then and he is mentioned as president in the movie) so today $2000 is worth more than $21000.

I remember when this movie came out. I loved the cars and the music. I think I watched it around 17 times. I was born about 10 years too late for the early 60s cruising, but I sure did my share of it in the 70s. I had all kinds of hot rods. Looking back at some of the stunts I pulled, it's a wonder I'm still alive. Some good friends weren't so fortunate. But this is a great slice of Americana. It shows a time when life was slower and simpler. I can't wait for the complete watch along. Be well, Greg.

He was looking through a copy of Glamour magazine.

Matt O'Keefe

Well apparently that was disgusting according to Laurie.

Wolfman Jack (real name:Robert Smith) graduated from the National Academy of Broadcasting in 1960. Bis first job was as his character then "Daddy Jules" at the station WYOU in Newport News , Virginia. Newport News is about a 25 min drive from where I live in Norfolk, Va. He changed his character name 2 or 3 times. And then settled on Wolfman Jack. Most of his fame came from working at a station on the border with Mexico. That station had a powerful signal that could be picked up all across most of the U.S.
