When I moved out of the nest and got my own appartment back in '89 the cable guy came by and hooked me up. I had no living room furniture yet so it was me sitting on floor in front of my 13" TV sitting on a milk rack. I was checking out all the channels as you got 'em all for free for the first month, and this was just starting on HBO. So it was my first movie in my new appartment, and first time watching one on a pay channel (my dad was cheep and only got basic cable back home). So, anyway, this movie will always be part of a special memory for me.

JOEDATOR

This was shot at the amusement park I used to go to when I was a kid, Rye Playland in New York. It's a lot better in the movie than it was in real life.

Several years ago Tom Hanks was a guest on The Late Show and they did a skit where Mr. Hanks tracked down the Zoltar mahine (played by Stephen Colbert) in a storage closet and Tom was now wishing he was young again. Zoltar/Colbert kept getting Hanks mixed up with other actors.

Paul Grodt

I forgot how endearing this movie is. The coworker is Jon Lovitz from Saturday Night Live, and SO many things beyond that.

Kane Is Able

He's in two episodes of Friends. Jen may know him from that, as well as Adam Sandler films.

Kane Is Able

That's awesome. Most movies I watched in the 80s I don't have a memory of watching for the first time. Back then you'd skip through channels and land on a movie. If you're lucky, you'd find one as it's starting.

Kane Is Able

I kinda miss Jen's props. This movie was perfect for Jen's tux and champagne glass.

Kane Is Able

I've seen this movie a 100 times atleast, I never noticed the Gumby chair nor the Thundercats sheets before.

JoeDaGamingNoob

This movie ended my faith in Hollywood and the Academy Awards when Hanks lost the Best Actor award to Dustin Hoffman.

John DiGiantomasso

If you have not seen Rat Race (Abrams film, all star cast) he steals the show in that!

Harvey Lee

I actually saw a Zoltan fortune teller ( or some version of it ) in a novelty store I will have to search for that photo now . This was Tom Hanks first Big role with the obvious pun , I will say it's such fun watching this again . Please watch Dragnet at some point and the Burbs as well Jen

Gary Poussard

This was about his 5th movie but a Huge hit and probably his first where he was the main focus.

80s hand held computer that could exist.
