** Next week will be a "Modern" "Horror" Poll! 👍

**** VOTE FOR ALL YOU WOULD WATCH A REACTION TO!! **** I may in future watch more than top choice if others get lots of votes! Movies not chosen doesn't mean they will never be watched. They are still on my to-watch list so make sure you go upvote them on MOVIE REQUEST SITE

** How did I make this poll? On my MOVIE REQUEST SITE, I filtered by the Genre "Horror" and sorted "Chronological" > "Older". I chose movies I was most interested in and those that had higher votes, from years 50's-80's, except any that have already been on recent polls.

I marked them with 🫣 ratings for how scared I am to watch them lol 😂

If having issues voting - open the actual poll post, sometimes you can't vote just on the feed. If issues voting on mobile app-- try desktop!

Dylan

This is an awesome list. So many great horror classics, I’m voting for all of them and which ever one wins I’m just excited to see Jen’s reaction to it 🔥

Collinson

Would love to see The Witch from 2015 on the modern horror poll.

Sonny Smith

The Blob (1988) is one of the best movies ever made. Written by the same man that wrote The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.

Geoff S.

Regardless Killer Klowns is a must watch! The Fog is awesome too and no one is reacting to it. Hope you get that one in the bag as well. This is one of your best polls so far!

Jason Scade

Lots of classics here. The Dead Zone would probably be my 1st choice. The Omen is seminal 70s horror and directed by Richard Donner. The Wicker Man, also seminal. Creepshow is tremendous fun, anthology, only cert 15, so not too bad for you. Some big stars in it. Re-animator and Hellraiser are must see 80s camp classics, very gruesome though!

DrJonasVenture

You’ve seen two of the Big Three horror films- The Exorcist and The Shining. You might as well finish the trifecta with Rosemary’s Baby.

Brian's Dog

Getting carpal tunnel from all the clicking.

Over50Gamer

I voted for all except 6 of these. I will say I'm a huge Hellraiser fan and I'm eagerly awaiting the Hellraiser Revival survival/horror game. 😊🖤

Zack Parks

It’d be fun to see you do ATTACK OF THE 50 FT WOMAN. Tim Burton’s about to do a remake with Margot Robbie.

Alexis Vorian

I'd love to see her watching "Killer Klowns", it's the weirdest movie, haha

Rob Nichols

So many good ones here. The Fog, Creature From The Black Lagoon and Creepshow are all excellent. Christine and both Blobs are also great. The Omen will mess you up as a new mom.

thansen

So many great choices. I am surprised The Incredible Shrinking Man doesn't have more support and it's one of the very best SF films of the 50s. The Omen is a fantastic horror movie, one of the very best. Hellraiser is a surprisingly good movie. The sequel is terrible. I also enjoyed Creature from the Black Lagoon. The Fog is one I always like to revisit. Rosemary's Baby is another one of the greats. A feast of great horror films.

rubberkidney

its gota be re-animator right? great movie. scary. funny. classic hp lovecraft.

Scott Stevens

Believe it or not, there is also a sequel to “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”, and it features a very young George Clooney!

david wagnon

Creature from the black Lagoon and a blob work for me

Randy Aiken

several of these movies might be too much for Jen, exspecially if she watches The Omen in The Fog and looks for Cujo in the Pet Sematary

Ron

I'm pulling for The Dead Zone and Eraserhead (to get some David Lynch on the board).

Yann Laliberte

Creepshow deserves to be reacted to if only for the Ed Harris dance!!!

Banes

Oh yeah! Dead Zone especially imo - and I haven’t seen any reactions to it!

Ciarra Jade

Killer Klowns from Outer Space!… I never thought I’d ever see that movie in a poll 😂😂🍻

Banes

Phenomenal poll! An embarrassment of “classic” harra riches

Georgius Agricola

While 'Hellraiser' is a classic (with Andy Robinson, the psycho killer in 'Dirty Harry,' and the Cardassian tailor in Star Trek DS9), Hellraiser II has one of my absolute favorite lines when Pinhead threatens, "Your suffering will be legendary, even in hell!" Ouch!!!

Stephen Malloy

The Blob from 1958. Steve McQueen and a cast of teenagers battling the giant red alien (Communists)!

JamesJ

I selected so many of these 😆

mikethemotormouth

Would be interesting to see how she does with it considering her coulrophobia(fear of clowns)

Jason Scade

It has a good head on its shoulders.

mikethemotormouth

It should be an easy win. Stephen King, George Romero directing, and makeup dept is Tom Savini. It's a trifecta!

Zapp Rowsdower

I voted for almost all, including a few I haven't seen that I'd watch.

Zapp Rowsdower

...only to find that little Hellraiser, Rosemary's Baby

Jason Kaiser

Killer Tomatoes needs it's own category!

Georgius Agricola

I had to set the bar very high to keep from clicking all of these. What a list! I kind of remember this line from 'Killer Tomatoes': "She's gone now and I know I'll miss her, a giant tomato ate my little sister!" Or do I remember this from a dream? If we dive into 'The Creature from the Black Lagoon' and follow up with some sequels, we would eventually see an actor in his first (uncredited) role, and who went on to Hollywood mega-stardom and has won four Oscars for Acting and Directing and Best Picture! ;-)

Amarant Coral

I'm in just for The Wicker Man for this poll, which will almost certainly lose by a lot. Would love to see The Descent, Let the Right One In, The Babadook, Sinister, Smile, or 1408 on modern horror poll. Watching Eraserhead and Rosemary's Baby as a new mother would probably be pretty exhilarating 🤣 Congrats on the baby! 🎉

Mannygogou

I'd watch a reaction to Videodrome 🙂

Alexis Vorian

Hey, who's not scared of clowns?

Georgius Agricola

I love 'The Dead Zone!' Along with 'Village of the Damned,' they are movies that did not need jump scares or monster make-up. I guess I would call them thoughtful horror. Christopher Walken did a fantastic job of reprising his Dead Zone role in a skit on Saturday Night Live where he touched a co-worker and predicted the co-worker would eat ice cream too fast and get a headache. SPOILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-xz0z1gU1M

mikethemotormouth

Mayhaps someone who spent the better part of their teenage years as a juggalo?

Nicholas Thurkettle

I haven't watched your "Evil Dead" reaction yet but if the gore level of that was challenging your comfort levels then you may specifically want to avoid "Hellraiser," the first two are incredibly imaginative and distinctive in the horror genre but the visceral ickiness level is really, really high.

Rod

My vote was for "The Incredible Shrinking Man" although it's not really a horror classic, more of a Sci-Fi classic.

Kristin

Definitely the Omen. Dh and I were just talking about that the other day.

Harvey Lee

The original Wicker Man was a great horror thriller , Please Jen and everyone stay away from the remake at all costs !! The Babadook is also a great underatted thriller not too many people have reacted to that one .

Vwlss Nvwls

Creepshow never gets enough love in these kind of polls. I do not think people really understand what a fun movie it is.

Rob Nichols

It's currently in second place.

Summer

If you want encouragement Rosemary’s baby, I saw it some years ago expecting excosist level scary, and while certain horror to me is better than others, this one……it wasn’t as scary as I expected. You might find it scarier but its better in not being gory than the rest of the list seems. Might want to avoid childs play like the plague

Jon Anderson

I'm a huge fan of the original Wicker Man, and I'd love to see (a) how creeped out Jen can be by a movie with no gore, and (b) how Jen copes with Scottish accents.

Max du Coudray

Rosemary's Baby is quite astounding.

Miles E Coburn

My absolute favorite on the list is "The Incredible Shrinking Man" (1957). But it doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. And my next two, "Creepshow" (1982) and "The Dead Zone" (1983) aren't faring any better. Oh well.

Stefan Loferer

That is an excellent poll! 60s and 70s horror...count me in.😁 Plus I really hope for all 80s John Carpenter movies eventually. Hellraiser is special of course. Personally I like the sequel even a bit more but the movies never really match Clive Barkers books imo. It's the same with Lovecraft I guess but Re-Animator is just too crazy and real gory fun.😂

Summer

Its the great pumpkin charlie brown is a classic halloween….

Harry S

I would watch just about everything on the list. I did not vote for everything because I want to watch some more than others, but I would watch them if they win. Great Poll!

Harry S

If you have trouble voting try this, don't tap on the checkbox, instead tap on the right hand side where the votes show up.

Opti_Frog

This poll contains three of my favourite movies of all time: The Wicker Man, Hellraiser and The Fog. I'm pretty sure Jen would enjoy The Wicker Man the most.

Byrd N. Hand

No "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"? Or "Suspiria"? 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

"The Exorcist" shows everything. "Rosemary's Baby" shows nothing.

Summer

Exactly, I usually like implied danger more, but not this time, it just could have been better, maybe knowing the plot impacted my view of it

Byrd N. Hand

"Creepshow," "Hellraiser," "Pet Semetary," and "Rosemary's Baby" are all merely separated by 5 votes. 🤔

Zapp Rowsdower

I thought of one and put it in your Patreon Movie Requests - I couldn't believe it wasn't in there yet - "THE HALLOWEEN TREE". An animated movie from 1993, written and narrated by Ray Bradbury. Leonard Nimoy provides the voice for the main adult character, Carapace Clavicle Moundshroud. It's a really cool story.

Brutally Goofy Buddha

Christine is the one I'd enjoy seeing you react to the most. It is just the coolest concept of any of the concepts of any of these horror movies, and perfectly realized in the movie with the brilliant actors and actresses involved.

Brutally Goofy Buddha

Anyway, Jen, I finally joined as a member, but had to use my PayPal which had very little on it because I've had problems with my card at the moment so I couldn't go higher than the $7.50...😋

Bammer

I voted for Christine and The Blob (1958).

Jen Murray

I'm not ready for Texas Chainsaw yet, just being real with you

Clay F

$7.50 is good.

Byrd N. Hand

Honestly, after "The Shining," "The Exorcist," and "The Fly," I feel it shouldn't be *that* difficult for you. 🤷‍♂️

Thomas Yanez

Also, it is another good example of the use of quality practical effects. Unfortunately, the visuals are a little tainted by some less than stellar digital compositing. End of one era, beginning of another.

Thomas Yanez

If I had my wish, it'd be a double feature of the two Blob movies - see the old, see the new.

zynjams

creature from the black lagoon is a legendary movie

zynjams

hell raiser is gorefest.

Amarant Coral

Suspiria is super stylish with amazing music and visuals. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is maybe the quinessential slasher film. I think there is enough 70s cheese and camp in there to keep Jen from being too scared, but then again people getting chased with chainsaws ya know.

Jason Scade

Watching it always reminds me to re-stock on tomato and BBQ sauce.

Jason Scade

The Wicker Man is class, psychological drama/horror. I love the song featured in it, 'How Do'. It was covered by the Sneaker Pimps in the 90s, solid cover.

Opti_Frog

Yeah, it's not horror in the typical sense. I heard someone describe it as "soul horror". The soundtrack is ace overall.

Curran Dobbs

Attack of the 50-Foot Women is a misleading title. At no point in the movie does she ever have more than 3 feet.

TheWinterHalo

I've watched Videodrome, it's pretty weird and surreal. It has a lot of uncomforting scenes that I don't think youtube would like. Ofc I would recommend it but just keep that in mind if you decide to react to it

Eric Janssen

And anyone who thinks it’s an “Empowered feminist allegory” just from the poster or the dopey 80’s Daryl Hannah version….boy, are YOU in for one bucket of cold water: 🤭 The movie was reportedly an unrelated B-movie that was turned into a scifi by American Intl. execs at the last minute as a gag when they didn’t know how to sell it, and the “Attack” is tacked onto the very, very, very last fifteen minutes of the story. And even then the director complained the effects were horrible, with fans nicknaming it “Attack of the 50 Foot Casper”, from bad optical printing turning her transparent in most of the scenes. 👻

Eric Janssen

Actually, in terms of violence the original TCM could be a strong PG-13: There’s no blood, and no one actually gets cut up with a chainsaw. (Onscreen. 😈) In terms of general creepy aura and freaky vibes, however…

Blue Collar Hero

The '80s is it's own kind of special so I wouldn't group them in with the '50s classics. That said I vote for The Blob 1958 and then watch the 1988 Blob

Jen Murray

Not enough time to do polls for each individual decade at this point

Byrd N. Hand

I believe it's technically called "The Siren's Song," but who's keeping score? I love the songs "Corn Rigs" and "Gently Johnny" as well.

Byrd N. Hand

It's hard to say, given that the MPA has gotten considerably more conservative since the '90s, but I agree it's pretty tame compared to the 3 titles I mentioned above.

Amarant Coral

I don't know why I didn't think of this until now, but I just realized that Army of Darkness will probably end up on next week's Modern Horror Poll and will absolutely blow everything out of the water. I guess the real question is which non-Raimi movie will get second place? I'm not a Raimi guy, but I do really enjoy all of these polls. I hope you keep doing them.
