November already yeah crazy eh but also your first little boys bonfire night coming up and soon his first Christmas, exciting times ahead πŸ™‚ cough drops companies should be lining up to sponsor you , am am curious to what flavour drops you've been having . cherry ? Thanks as always for everything you do Jen we appreciate you very very much

You're doing the right thing watching the Apocalypse Now (1979) theatrical cut. If you enjoy it and want more, the next watch would be Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) - the Oscar-winning making-of documentary, then Apocalypse Now: Redux (2001) - the extended cut.

Brian Galvin

Think she should finish next generation and deep space9 then all of enterprise that she ketchup on a couple movies and then start Voyager heh

Byrd N. Hand

The 'Final Cut' of "Apocalypse Now" might be the definitive version of the film for me. It offers more depth than the theatrical cut while eliminating most of the superfluous stuff included in the Redux cut. Unfortunately, from what I understand, it's not available on streaming.

Byrd N. Hand

The French plantation segment is the weakest part of the Redux cut for me -- next to the 'private time with the Bunnies' segment. I feel they both sort of bring the film to a standstill. The 3-hour 'Final Cut' eliminates the latter completely and a good deal of the former; hence, it's my preferred version of the film.

Ian

Jen wrote in her description above she's watching the theatrical version

Byrd N. Hand

Honestly, I wonder how many people are even aware of the existence of the Final Cut... and would endorse that over the theatrical cut if they did. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Summer

Take any time you and the baby need.

Jen Murray

Cherry all way except I bought some spearmint by accident and they were actually really good too πŸ‘

Toc

So sorry to hear about the eye infection, that is so scary. Happy to hear he's on the mend.

Mastervodo

MMmmmm... Spearmint.

Mastervodo

Great lineup this week Jen! Looking forward to it! Nothing like sitting at home, trying not to spend any money existing while watching Jen!

Ian Hunter (NewbieInOttawa)

Glad the little guy is doin' better, Jen! Eye infections are no beuno, esp. at that age, poor lil guy. Ohhh, the Little Kicks is a classic.

Darryl Low

Looking forward to some good stuff this week. Epic Seinfeld reactions incoming πŸ¦ΆπŸ‘πŸ˜„ Sorry to hear about the little one Jen. Good to hear he's keeping well now πŸ€—

Patrick Turman

The theatrical cut of Apocalypse Now is the best version for those who haven't seen it. Looking forward to your reaction of it! (heh heh)

Kristen

She’s answered this question many times.

Jason Scade

Glad the little one is feeling better. β™₯ These are good for helping a lingering cough / cold; Enlist the Help of Herbs Like vitamins, many herbs have been used throughout history to treat illness and support overall health. They can be taken as supplements, made into teas, or used in other forms. Some popular cold remedies and their potential effects include:13 Cinnamon: Antiviral Echinacea: Immune-boosting Eucalyptus: Antitussant (cough suppressing) and expectorant (clears mucus) Garlic: Antimicrobial and antiviral German chamomile: Cough relief Peppermint: Antiviral and anti-inflammatory Always check with a healthcare provider before taking any herbal supplements, as they can cause interactions with certain medications. Super stoked for Apocalypse Now, good call on theatrical cut. It smells like victory.

Josh Heinen

I currently have shingles! It's not fun, but your League of Their Own reaction was a good distraction. Can't wait for the others. Also, glad your kid is doing well now! Poor little guy.

zynjams

I have shingles too, getting old stinks

Josh Heinen

I'm only 37. Everyone is surprised i got it, but i don't have a great immune system and I've been really stressed lately so that's probably what caused it. Hope you feel better soon!

Byrd N. Hand

Granted, anyone who hasn't seen it going into it is ignorant about the film's history. I'd personally consider the Final Cut as the most definitive version of the film, since it deepens the story from the theatrical cut but also eliminates most of the superfluous stuff added in the Redux cut.

Code Monkey

Super Troopers!!! *meow*

Jen Murray

I had shingles in my 20's! Awful. Hope you feel better soon!

Curran Dobbs

By the way, there's a Star Trek RPG type game like D&D where you have the books with campaigns and character creations with different Star Trek races, and jobs.

Patrick Turman

I'll take your word for it. I've seen the theatrical cut and that was enough for me. It's a movie I'm glad I watched and have never forgotten but at the same time do not care to see again.

Clay F

Apocalypse Now is great -- one of my favorite movies all time. I am stoked. For a first time viewer of AN, I always recommend the 1979 theatrical version. I always hated when my kids got eye infection.

Clay F

I feel for you two having shingles. I got the two-dose series of shingles vaccine.

Clay F

Voyager released before Enterprise. The plan apparently is she will complete all of DS9, and then decide if to react to Voyager. I like Voyager. If she reacts to Voyager, she will not react to Voyager by air date w/DS9 but instead complete all of DS9 first (as I mentioned), which I am ok with that. I think will be nice to focus on DS9.

Josh Heinen

I'm seriously considering getting it, but i have health problems and im hoping it doesn't mess with anything.
