Megamind is honestly one of the best animated films of all time.

Ian

Really looking forward to this one I always knew this was one you'd love 🔥 I've mentioned many many times that the how to train your dragon trilogy is incredible and you'd love the movies especially the score but also brave , big hero 6 and wreck it Ralph 🙂

Rob Nichols

Never seen it, but looking forward to watching with you.

Geoff S.

Glad you loved it. I never heard of this.

Kane

If memory serves this movie came out the same year as the other POV of the villain movie with all the minions and somehow that one became the bigger hit and created a whole franchise which is still baffling to me, this movie is 10x better IMO.

Kane

Despicable Me.

Philip Presley

Stranger Than Fiction Stranger Than Fiction Stranger Than Fiction Watch Stranger Than Fiction. Please and thank you.

William Rosmer

this movie is amazing, it just unfortunately came out around the same time as despicable me and got nowhere near the media attention it should have because of it

Matt

This movie is very underrated, and so much better than Despicable Me. It's annoying that Despicable Me is the one that launched a franchise.

William Rosmer

space dad is doing a brando impression because brando played superman's father in the first superman movie

William Rosmer

there is a fan theory i really like that when metroman retired he decided to go into music because it's something his super powers wouldn't make him instantly awesome at. it's something he'd have to put actual practice and work into in order to succeed.

Noremac

I really like the disney renaissance cartoons: aladdin, beauty and the beast, the little mermaid. it'd be good to dip into anime also, but unfortunately there aren't a ton of movie length anime, aside from studio ghibli. How about ninja scroll? that would be fun.

I came here to comment this. Stranger Than Fiction is one of my favourite movies. It's not strictly a 'comedy' in the typical Will Ferrell sense. But I love it so much. Jen, I think you'd like it, too!! Thanks for the Megamind reaction Jen. Loved it! I love Despicable Me 1 too, but the success of that franchise has overshadowed this one I think which is a shame! A hilarious movie and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

ARCANE! Best animated anything in the last 3 decades.

Knew you were going to love this one! Great reaction. As far as other animated movies, you have a lot of watching ahead of you! 😁 Here are some of my favs: * Zootopia (2016) * Lightyear (2022) * Kung Fu Panda (2008) * How to Train Your Dragon (2010) * Big Hero 6 (2014) * Rango (2011) * Monsters vs. Aliens (2009) * Spies In Disguise (2019) * Madagascar (2005) my personal favorite for watching after Madagascar, but doesn’t seem to get a lot of love: * Penguins of Madagascar (2014)

All of those recommendations are great! I am hoping Jen starts the "animated phase" of her channel.

Michael Jung

For Will Ferrell movies, definitely watch Stranger Than Fiction! Really showcases Ferrell's talent for drama, comedy -- and music! Also, if you want to be REALLY wowed by music, check out Eurovision with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams! I'd totally want to watch that again.

Michael Jung

Like Clark Kent and writing!

Michael Jung

Ironically, Will Ferrell later voiced a character in Despicable Me 4!

Michael Jung

Hey, Jen! When are you reacting to Superman (2025)??? I'd love to see your reaction to the story, actors, and music!

Michael Jung

Monsters vs. Aliens and Big Hero 6 are both awesome!

Lean

+1 for Zoolander

John DiGiantomasso

Yes, do both Despicable Me 2 (and 3 and 4!) as well as Incredibles 2. They are all quality sequels that advance the story in new directions. All fun. A film in a similar vibe to MegaMind is Monsters vs. Aliens. But - THE BEST animated family film in my opinion is ParaNorman. (A bit spooky, but really fun!) It's done with stop motion, but it is so incredibly detailed. It is gorgeous just to look at. It took literally years to film. But it also has an amazing cast of characters, and a really, really great story. So sweet. 2012 Academy Award nomimee for best animated film but it was from an indie studio and was up against Disney's Brave(winner) and Wreck-It-Ralph. ParaNorman never got the love or attention it deserved. I know you would really love it. Stay until the after credits on ParaNorman, Too!

Some animated recommendations: Big Hero 6 Wreck-It-Ralph

Despicable Me technically came out first, which soured this movie in people's minds for "copying" the idea, but this one still came out the same year, only a few months after so it's not like they actually had time to copy, they just had a similar idea at around the same time. I prefer this of the two, but they're both good.
