John DiGiantomasso

Yay! Has anybody mentioned that Season 4 starts next week? 🤣

Dylan

Anytime Jen posts new DS9 reactions my whole day and week is made 🔥🖖

Summer

Have to take my dog to the vet but will watch as soon as I get home, an hour or so, so excited

Ian

Friday trek with lady Jen how great is that 🙌🔥 thumbnail is a banger as always 👌 love the small description you add Jen it's such a cool little touch and these episodes sound great so Ty for well being awesome 🔥🖖

Fanchman

Thank you so much for getting this out today! I may be a little late watching next week's season premiere, but I look forward to it.

The_Truth

I always thought why did O'Brien say during his toast, "the newest and best captain in Starfleet", was he just being nice or didn't he think that Picard was a good captain?

Squeesher

Yay, right when I needed something to watch!

Rob Nichols

Third season down, more great stuff to come. Reliving Trek with you has been a blast, and next week will be🔥

Rob Nichols

Ha! Right when I was about to head out for groceries.

Curran Dobbs

"Don't watch the opening" could mean new character or a character leaving (or both), a character being recast, a character's rank/name changing, or something changing in the shots of the station that spoil something that happens in that episode. I will let you know that the "spoiler" your avoiding was spoiled for audiences before the episode aired through the Star Trek media.

Curran Dobbs

If you recall, Dax is handy with a bat'leth (Klingon martial arts).

Summer

Love the Friday drops Oh by the way CAPTAIN Sisko is here!

The_Truth

Season 4 now the real fun begins 🎆🎇

The_Truth

Just a PSA for everyone- Jen is well aware to close her eyes during the opening theme of Season 4 Episode 1 to avoid spoilers , can't wait to see your reaction 😜😜

TigerMyth

the new version of chrome appears to have killed the way you post videos on youtube. I removed all adblockers and still have the issue. I tried another Patreon creator and had the same issue but she posts the links and when clicking the link it allowed me to prove I was a human by signing in. Not sure how to fix this. At the moment I can't watch any content. I wish I had not restarted my Chrome to finish the new update. going to install Opera.

2026-09-06 01:00 Eddington’s been around since early Seaon 3, you just forgot. Remember, Odo felt SF was replacing him in “The Search”
2026-02-06 17:56

TigerMyth

Yikes. Same problem in Opera.

Fr. Brench

But he's appeared in what, three stories since then? He's been pretty forgettable most of the time thus far.

Curran Dobbs

We've seen Eddington a couple times before. He was the one who sabotaged the cloak under command from Starfleet in the episode where they're going to rescue Odo and Garak from the fight between the Tal Shiar, Obsidian Order, and the Dominion. He was also in the episode at the beginning where they're in the Dominion simulation and they think that Starfleet is letting Dominion near the beginning of season 3.

TC Green

Great episodes but man am I excited for next week!

Joel

I love Papa Bear Rom, don't mess with Nog or he will make you sorry

Jen Murray

Whatever it is you're referring to I've forgotten, if I did say that

Jen Murray

Anyone else having this issue? Does the video appear at all? Can u right click and try 'copy URL'?

TigerMyth

I also tried Edge. Same thing. Youtube is trying to prove I am human and I am not given a chance to do it. I am logged into youtube in another tab on the browser. I watched the end of an episode from last week. Then I saw the notice to reload Chrome to finish an update and now this is happening.

Jen Murray

Are you really surprised? I think it's been shown I have a terrible memory

Jen Murray

I've just had a couple people test updating chrome and then playing embedded videos and all say there's no issue on their end. So they recommend - clearing all of cookie/cache history - turn off all browser extensions - restart PC - Login to everything again

Rob Nichols

I have no problems with Brave.

Rob Nichols

Well good, no spoilers then lol. What were we talking about?

Curran Dobbs

Heh. No worries. I thought of that. Happy to post reminders if they're welcome. Hopefully they don't come off as rude. (I won't answer spoilery questions but if it's something that was already established and forgotten, I'll be happy to do it).

Jen Murray

Always appreciate you guys jogging my memory!

Curran Dobbs

These were good episodes but the next couple episodes afterwards are so great that I'm impatient for them anyways.

Senzu Bean

To be fair, Eddington does have a I-forgot-your face. But since he is security and not a 'red-shirt' guy, it's best to not forget him.

TigerMyth

Already did that. The only thing I can think of is something with Chrome / Youtube changed that doesn't like my Bitdefender antivirus. I removed all extensions, restarted and logged in. This all happened immediately after updating chrome but I've tried Opera and Brave and get the same issue. Only thing left is the Antivirus is blocking ad tracking and maybe Google no longer wants any form of ad tracking blocking.

TigerMyth

I give up. I've uninstalled all extensions. I've turned off Ad Tracking Block in Bitdefender. Deleted all cache. All cookies. Everything gone. Restarted and same thing. Sign in to prove you are not a bot.

Summer

All right I have my Quarks glass and dr pepper ready

Ember_Atelier

As others have said, don't look at the Season 4 opening credits! But when it's "safe" for you to do so, you'll notice that the visuals are slightly different to the earlier intro sequences. Almost every episode of season 4 is great - with only one or two "bad" ones but even then they aren't terrible, just not as good as the rest. For me, this was when I realised I liked Deep Space Nine more than TNG.

TigerMyth

That works great. Thank you. No clue why the embedded link just stopped working for me. I'll keep poking around on my end but It worked fine right up until my chrome updated but that couldn't have caused the issue because It does the same thing in Opera and Brave. Maybe Google changed something on their end that also tweaked Chrome / Youtube. That was going to kill me if I couldn't continue the full Trek journey.

TigerMyth

Found it. I need to be logged into Google. Being logged into Youtube didn't do it. I changed my browser setting so that when logged into Google I am automatically logged into all Google products without having to login to each. Maybe the update to chrome turned that option off. It was set to default so I changed it to automatically sign-in.

Jen Murray

So the embed is playing ok for you now?

Dean

I really enjoyed how both of these episodes had Jadzia and Sisko scenes where they got to be best friends by showing how they cared about each other, teased each other, and helped each other. DS9’s personal relationships are so dynamic and they do a great job of mixing the interactions around to see how different characters bounce off each other. I wish TNG had done a better job with that, but we didn’t get a scene of Bev and Geordi shooting the shit together until like Season 5. It’s a nice thing and it usually informs us much more about the characters in an organic way.

Summer

I love the Facets episode except for the Joran host and Quark trying to sabotage Nog, go Rom! Go Nog!

Dean

Please don’t sell yourself short. You watch a lot of stuff and I’ve seen plenty of reactors not remember half of what you do. Heck, I’ve seen *reviewers* who just watched something completely forget main character names and plot points within hours of watching something

Christopher Lamont Harris

Glad you enjoyed the two episodes of season 3 and looking forward for your reaction at season 4, ENGAGE!

Dean

It would be so funny if the “don’t watch the credits thing” was just that they made the station rotate the other way around or something really mundane just for laughs “they changed the order of how they show the producers and executive producers! 🤯” (And yes, I know what the real change is, but it would be funny)

Summer

You are a great reactor Jen, most of us have seen this many times, none of us remembered or knew all the first time or this time. You caught onto Quark! Your eyes widening when Rom confronted Quark is great, we were all surprised

TigerMyth

Yes. Now it doesn't need additional verification that I am human because I am logged into Google and I changed a setting in the browser to accept the Google Login for all Google logins. I don't know if that is a new setting or if the chrome update glitched out the option I had selected. I know in the past I was logged into GMail and Youtube 100% of the time and that was enough. Reading the option, I think as long as I am logged into one of them, I am logged into all of them. So I am pretty sure the chrome update just changed the default option from being signed into everything to needing individual logins for each site which caused the problem with the embed. TLDR in summary, yes the embed works fine now. I'm in IT. I hate when Google or Microsoft changes something like this. Gives me a real bad day.

TC Green

Just smart to say that regardless of who your current CO is, they are always the best.

jon bolton

Two more more good episodes, especially the second one.

Oliver Horsley

Right I need to say this for the next episode don't look at the opening credits there is a big spoiler so cover your eyes when you hear the theme

Banes

I've always loved the Facets episode - but I don't know if it's a fan favorite or anything. I haven't really seen it being talked about. So I loved seeing you so invested in the Jadzia/Curzon story as of course the Nog/Rom/Quark story. Quark does have heart I think...but it's awesome to see him as an antagonist too.

Banes

The Adversary is TENSE! Wicked season ender even if it's a bit unusual for a finale. They considered multiple different stories for the finale - and they definitely went the right way imo.

Beagle Boy

Cant wait for your reactions to next season...

John DiGiantomasso

I think it was early in Season 1 when Bashir was totally annoying O'Brien that Jen said, "I hope they become buddies." A couple of episodes back when they were working to break into Quark's bar to retrieve their dartboard I think that moment arrived. Total tranformation of that plot element from irritant to delight.

John DiGiantomasso

The real change is the Julian Bashir actor changed his name from "Siddig El Fadil" to "Alexander Siddig." Right? Oh no! I've spoiled the big change!!! 😅

Summer

Knew the start of Adversary would get you. Since I knew the twist this time I paid extra attention to the ambassador at the beginning, he looks like he will drink then doesn’t and a lot of neat little things like that

Julian San

Jen has NEVER noticed anything in the credits; at least, she’s never made mention of anything she sees. So alerting her like this is practically counterproductive. Hell, she can’t even remember that Eddington has been in like a half dozen episodes going all the way back to the first episode of the season 😂

Fanchman

Part of the reason is because she's been advised to ignore guest star credits for a while now. That's how she was able to avoid the Tasha Yar spoiler in the TNG finale.

Gábor Árki

Based on your description I believe I had the same issue a couple of months ago. The embedded YouTube video never played and wanted me to sign in, even though I was signed in to YouTube on that same browser. I think the issue even persisted in the Patreon app on Android. I gave up after a while and looked for the YouTube link in the HTML source code. Opening that directly worked fine. I left a comment but no one else had this issue. Two days later it got resolved on its own.

Summer

Now we can just say Captain Sisko without spoiling. Nana Visitor Kira’s actress is great

Fanchman

I was impressed that you remembered Ensign Sito in "Lower Decks" as soon as Picard mentioned the incident at the academy. You are a true Trekkie!

Curran Dobbs

Also bare in mind that people originally watching the series would sometimes be stuck with reruns to jog their memories on weeks where there wasn't a new episode too. Also, generally you're watching each episode once before moving on, consequently you would naturally forget some things.

Summer

Eddingtom’s third appearance and suddenly everyone acts like he’s something. Always test the tester first sounds like a great rule. Actually Jen you said it was the one on the right you didn’t specify that one being the enemy or Odo just that the one on the right you suspected and you were right

TigerMyth

I needed to check an option in the browser setting sync and google services. The option essentially allows you to sign in to everything once. So if I was signed into GMail, Google or Youtube it would force me to login again. I think the Google update must have deselected any option so it was forcing the login when using the embedded link. Now that I have the sign-in option selected. As long as I am in one, I am logged into all of them.

Bobby Coolbreeze

I can’t wait till I get home tonight to watch these reactions! One more week till Jen has to cover her eyes during the opening theme 😂

Bobby Coolbreeze

Yeah but this the opening credits so it’s different and implies much and hard to miss. We were all spoiled back then cause we knew what was coming for months.

Summer

Back then I danced or got pizza during the credits so I wasn’t spoiled but to be fair I was watching on DVD and knew that they added spongebob to the theme so it didn’t matter much

Bobby Coolbreeze

This season ended like the last season with the Jem Hadar. An ominous forshadowing of things to come and major threat to our crew in the near future. The build up is so good!

Opti_Frog

It seems to me there are some pretty big leaps of logic in Facets. It's a charming story on a thematic level, but the memory transfer/resurrection ritual seems utterly reckless. The Guardian seems pretty cool about Curzon and Odo joining, and there are no precautions taken to ensure the host can be sure to get the memories back. So things like this must happen all the time in Trill society. How many Trills are possessed by ghosts of past hosts? 😅 Fathers and sons. Avery Brooks was deeply determined to ensure that the relationship between Captain Benjamin Sisko and his son, Jake, on DS9 presented a positive, authentic, and loving depiction of a father of color. Sisko was one of the few fathers of color on TV at the time that showed not just presence and wisdom but also genuine affection. Sisko would regularly hug, and sometimes even kiss, his son, and it always felt 100% genuine and heartfelt. That wasn't just a rare depiction for fathers of color. It was an increasingly rare depiction of fathers in general in mainstream media. The Adversary simply is *chef's kiss* and since i've already written a wall of text, that's all I'll say. I know DS9 didn't click with tons of Trek fans, so I'm really happy to hear Jen say she loves this show. ❤️

Bobby Coolbreeze

Jen in the spirit of Ben’s Promotion i think you should wear command red next week. I forgot did you promote yourself to Captain yet and add pips? You deserve it you are officially a Star Fleet Veteran!

Opti_Frog

I think it was "blessed are the cheese makers."

Opti_Frog

It wasn't "spoiled" because it was never a secret back then. And i can't say more than that.

Opti_Frog

Well... Sisko IS the best captain...

Curran Dobbs

Fine. Let's call it a significant plot point that was deliberately revealed in advance of the airing of the episode...

Kristin

Season 4 really takes it up a notch.

Zapp Rowsdower

The character of security chief, Commander Michael Eddington, was on a couple of prior season 3 episodes: S3E1 & 2, "The Search", and S3E21, "The Die is Cast". Minor parts on those episodes.

Sykonee

I swear Avery Brooks had it written into his contract that he gets to play a villain at least once per season. And different flavors of villain at that! First the Maniacal Clock Maker in S1, then roguish Mirror Sisko in S2, now creepy Joran in S3.

Kevin Sommerfield

I'm sure someone else has or will say this, but just as a reminder, Michael Eddington (who you said you weren't sure about remembering) became overseer of Starfleet security on DS at the beginning of Season 3. which is why Odo threatened to quit at that time because he felt like Starfleet didn't trust him.

Andrew Roach

After Star Trek left Netflix I joined Paramount + and to my shock and disgust they have split the season 4 opener into two parts which means many scenes are going to be deleted to allow for this. I remember you had put up a link for where you watch your episodes from, what is that link again? This time let me join that and drop Paramount + like a bad habit.

Bobby Coolbreeze

Wow I haven’t seen facets in over 30 years and yes it was a very good Dax episode. We get a lot of insight to her past hosts. Nana Visitor is such a good actress in the way she gets into character as we seen before like when she does her mirror universe counterpart. Rom starts to assert himself and comes into his own. You will like the rest of his journey as they really flesh out his character. As for the adversary. Yes it had that Spooky Thing vibe to it. The Changlings are the Big Baddies now along with their Dominion. They are everywhere and we will feel their presence lurking in every corner moving forward! They will have everyone and everything in a state of fear and panic. Season 4 will be best describe as chaotic with big changes! Probably my favorite season of the series. As I said before Buckle up Jen! DS9 hits warp 9.9 from here on to the end. Most of the Best episodes of the series happen from season 4 on to the end of the series in my opinion.

jon bolton

I agree with you Julian. Jen has had so much warning that in itself is more of a spoiler than just watching it.

Tom Evans

Team Nog! With Season 3 we've really seen DS9's supporting characters start to shine. Nog is getting an arc. Rom is growing as a character. Of course Garak has had several big episodes. And we will see more of Kassidy Yates, Leeta, Kai Winn, Dukat, and many others! Speaking of supporting characters, you have seen Commander Eddington before. He was first introduced as the head of Starfleet Security on DS9 which upset Odo and he threatened to resign. Then more recently he sabotaged the Defiant's cloaking device (on Starfleet's orders) when they were trying to rescue Odo from the Obsidian Order and Tal Shiar. Season 4, let's go!

Desmond

Sisko's "Earl Grey hot", is just raktajino. That Klingon coffee is really popular with the DS9 crew.

Desmond

"Always test the Tester first." Think you're on to something, Jen.

Summer

So I watched some TOS and TNG as a child (1980’s early 90’s), for us it was more ‘oh Trek is on, lets watch it’, not severe fans but I did remember large portions of 40-60 TNG episodes and the Voyage home. In my early twenties my stepdad watched Enterprise so I watched it with him. Then I found Voyager a couple years later and fell in love, I got the DVDs and watched it several times before reconnecting with TNG also through DVDs, then a few years later DS9, so I had no one telling me how this universe worked, by the time I got back to TNG and then DS9 I might have accepted enough of the Trek universe that most things people wonder watching TOS and TNG the first time never occurred to me. There is a lot about the Trek universe I just agreed to accept when choosing to watch, but crucially, no one told me details, I watched through multiple times before people on line started telling me anything about behind the scenes, or any names of anything in the future, or what episode or person was important or better, or how warp drive works, or anything else. If some of you didn’t have that, I am sorry. Lets give that to Jen as much as we can. (There are things I knew about DS9 before I got there which is bittersweet).

Anthony Cameron

I have been waiting for next week for like a year 🤣

Jen Murray

I believe the version on Prime is the 1hr 33min according to www.justwatch.com👍 I am also in the process of working on Watchalong versions of my videos where there is no blur/muting and u can see/hear the full episode. I may be able to post this jumbo ep as a test Watchalong (the full site isn't ready yet)

Dean

I finally saw someone post the “evidence” (tough to say it’s real) thing of Spock’s face in the comet tail. Is there a place to post it in this community?

Dean

I’m sorry if it is something super obvious I’m missing, but is there a link or invite code to that somewhere? *edit! Figured it out! Thank you!

Jen Murray

If anyone needs an invite to Discord they can message me :) (They expire)

Brian Onderdonk

I feel silly asking this question again, but is Voyager out of the mix now? I thought we were going in air date order with all the shows, in which case we're well past when Voyager had started. I never hear any mention of it whenever I watch DS9 reactions. I only ask because it's my favorite show of the TNG era (but highly adore TNG and DS9 too!)

Summer

After DS 9 is done, can hardly wait, Jen is getting through DS9 steadily

ParallaxNick

Even with your eyes closed, you'll still notice something new about the season 4 credits.

ParallaxNick

Fermat's Last Theorem was first proposed in 1637, and was solved the year this episode came out.

Summer

So excited for next week!

Fanchman

It's a no win situation. If no warning, it's almost a guaranteed spoiler unless she just misses it. However, the warning has been beaten to death.

Andrew Roach

No it is not. I believe like me you are in Canada correct? As indicated Prime has dropped Star Trek, you need Paramount + thru them and the episode is broken into two parts there. Even your link shows the exact same thing... two separate episodes. Apple shows the same thing. If you are seeing one jumbo episode where are you seeing this?? If so I hope you do post this episode only thru Patreon without the episode blurred, it only matters for this episode and the series finale. I have seen first hand during TNG's finale, before your version with another reactor, that when such a jumbo episode is split into two parts many scenes are cut to make room for the second set of opening and closing credits plus "previously on" which are not in the jumbo episode and that makes syncing a nightmare.

Bobby Coolbreeze

When this episode first aired it was just one feature length episode So it’s just one long episode. In reruns they edited the episode in syndication to make it a two parter. So you have the correct version. I’ll be watching along with you on paramount + I can’t wait til you post it up You ever consider doing a live stream? Like a watch party? That would be cool!

Andrew Roach

If Jen does the episode as two 45min parts all is fine but she had indicated she has the jumbo episode. When Trek was on Netflix they had these special episodes as single jumbo episodes, I speak of Farpoint, All Good Things, Emissary and I bet Warrior if it was still there. There is no reason for a streaming service to chop up these rare episodes. By all means you have to for TV but to chop them up for streaming and in turn delete scenes is so wrong. Hopefully she is mistaken and all she can do is two separate episodes but if she has the jumbo I can't figure out where she got it unless she is on DVD? She is in Canada like me so it seems not to be a US thing?

Bammer

Oh boy! I'm excited to see your reaction to the season 4 opener! It's gonna be a banger!

Chris Biebel

Remember when you were wondering about the Bajoran-Cardassian peace treaty and were concerned that there wasn't a main villain race for the show? Yeah, about that... This episode did correct one thing in the show: Making Sisko a captain. It started to be a bad look, making the first black lead for a Star Trek show a commander instead of a captain, although there was an in universe reason for this going back all the way to TOS: Captains are in charge of starships, while stations are commanded by, well, commanders. As you saw, the Defiant still has a cloak, but the main deal with the Romulans still remains: they aren't supposed to use it in the Alpha Quadrant.

Chris Biebel

It had also previously been mentioned in a TNG episode as well.

Marcus Hicks

Oh yeah, the more percussive Theme Song!

Marcus Hicks

Season 3 was a real banger. IIRC, there is only one truly weak episode in the entire season-Meridian. Everything else was awesome.

Marcus Hicks

I am not 100% sure anymore, but based on what I remember of the episode commentaries, The Adversary was based more on the original Novella "Who Goes There?"-which was also the inspiration for The Thing.

Clay F

Agree there is some good father-son stuff going on with DS9.
