Your reaction to seeing Worf was awesome Jen. It was definitely Worf the wait 😂🔥🖖

The Klingons turning on us can’t be good

I have been waiting for this one and Jen's reaction did not disappoint!

Henchman Twenty1

During the fight scene in Ops when the Klingons were boarding the station I gave Worf a new nickname - Mr. Slice n' Dice.

The random on the Defiant bridge that gets injured is played by Patricia Tallman who plays a pretty important character in Babylon 5. She's played a bunch of minor roles across various Star Trek series

I might not have been as hardline as Sisko with ?martok, maybe I would have invited him to do blood tests of the Cardassian leadership or something. Wouldn’t have worked but I wouldn’t have started aggressively as if we weren’t allies

So, interesting bit about the hair... The beard and shaved head had just been how Brooks looked for years and years before DS9. He really didn't want to change for DS9 but the studio was insistent. A lot of what changes around the end of season 3 to now is the suits were more involved with Voyager and started leaving Ira Behr (showrunner) and DS9 alone, so they said "eff it" and started doing what they wanted. The hair is part of it. There is also very little episodic type stories after that. This really becomes one of the first big prime time shows that is fully serial. Once that happens, the hair changes and the whole tenor of the show shifts from "pretty good" to "amazing".

To be fair to the studio, from what I understand Avery Brooks had a well-known role before DS9 and they wanted the change in look to make sure the two characters weren't conflated or confused. By Season 3/4, that was no longer as big an issue.

There's being fair, and then there's being the devil's advocate. Hollywood show business doesn't deserve your presumption of good faith.

I also gotta say, even at the time, *I* was like "Hawk is gonna be the new captain!!" Then they kinda made him look like a schlub, it was a bit of a let down. Honestly, I think (and Behr has said so) they just didn't want the black lead to look too intimidating.

You ask how we felt when first watching this! Young lady, that was 29 years ago, and I was already in my 20's, so I have no idea what I thought about it, that's why I watch you watching them. :) I can remember DS9 was my favorite trek show, so I prop liked it.
