Awesome line up Jen as always Jen! Looking forward to more Futurama and you’re gonna love Amadeus, it’s sooo good. Thanks for everything you do and keep up the awesome work! ❤️

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

Another very solid DS9 week, J, with two episodes that I think you're going to be very interested in. Until then 🖖👍

Geoff S.

Jen, I added a comment on the tv poll about the two Battlestar Galactica selection years one being 2003 and the other 2004. Was one supposed to be the original series from 1978?

WinkNudgeNudge

Ohhhhh mannnnn. That TV Poll was absolute torture. So many shows that I absolutely love that I know will probably never ever win. Like Fringe. Can't wait to see what gets picked. Voyager, like all Trek, has some stinker episodes..... But overall I am glad I watched it.

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

Question Jen: what about movies that got 200 or more votes that didn't win the poll they were in?? I think there might be a couple but it may be a LOT of work to go through all the polls haha

WinkNudgeNudge

It's in the message body of this post. It's a Google Doc form, not her usual Patreon based one.

Jen Murray

Nope the 1978 only has 15 votes. I have been told one is the 2 ep miniseries that is the pilot and the other is the rest of the series

Jen Murray

Like from previous polls? Only polls that I mark '200 Poll' will have those rules! Doesn't apply to old polls. But looking at my poll spreadsheets I usually end up watching all runner-ups or choices that gets lots of votes anyway

Marc Peterson

Fargo 2 and 3! Mrs Maisel Fawlty Towers Mad Men THE Wire Absolute TV GOLD DARK HORSE- Police Squad…6 episodes and peak Leslie Nielsen

Marcus Hicks

Oh wow, spoilt for choice on that TV Poll. I tried to be at least a little selective in the ones I voted for.

Kristin

There is a two-part mini-series (2003) that needs to be watched before the series (2004). They go together, and the mini-series must be watched for the series to make sense.

jason_hamp

Some great TV shows in that list. :) Community, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, Columbo. Wish you could watch them all. :)

Kristin

Jen, May I suggest that when it comes to Voyager, watch another show along side it, like you did with TNG and DS9. Voyager will have some die hard fans, but IMO it cannot hold it's own like TOS/TNG/DS9 can. So if you watch it, watch something else along side. I'd pick an unrelated sci-si show. Stargate SG-1, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica. Any of these would be a good addition to your sci-fi catalog.

geneinkc

Yeah, you really shouldn't watch one without the other. They're meant to go together.

geneinkc

I've seen so many people react to Ted Lasso already, and yet I just had to give it my vote. It's so freaking good!!! The best 3-season TV series ever, in my opinion. Also, happy to see Dead Like Me on the list. That show is criminally underrated.

Stephen Malloy

In my most humble baby boomer opinion, the one show Jen would learn the most from and enjoy as well would be The Twilight Zone. The work of master screenwriter Rod Serling, the show featured many well respected and recognizable actors. Many of the episodes examined serious themes relating to the significant issues of the era. There are many worthy shows on the poll and TZ should rank very high.

Noremac

I am looking forward to Amadeus too. It's one of my favorite movies; meaningful to me personally. I was a little sad The Chair Company didn't make it onto the TV list - but regardless there were a lot of good choices. I'm excited to see what you ultimately decide on.

Fanchman

Battlestar Galactica 2003 and 2004 definitely go together. In my opinion, one of the best sci-fi shows.

Rob Nichols

Jen, funny you should mention TOS, because some of your recent vids made me think of season 2's Who Mourns for Adonais? It would be a timely watch.

Fanchman

Great to hear you're definitely considering Voyager after DS9. I feel it's quality Trek.

Byrd N. Hand

Probably my favorite film of the '80s.

Apollo

Enjoying the no copy needed very much, thank you!

Summer

Mythbusters

Patrick

Some great stuff on that poll. I kinda tried to pick some of my faves that I know probably won't get the bulk or the votes

ChrisJayR

Voyager is cool, I think you would love it! Some great shows on the list and I voted for quite a few but I really hope The X-Files does well.

Bernie Zwicky

Great lineup of shows to choose from, but I wish I would have seen Star Trek Voyager in the mix! That would have been my first pick, followed closely by The Orville! Please consider doing these at some point, as I’m sure you would Love them! 😁❤️

TigerMyth

Sweet. I am ready for a full rewatch of Amadeus.

Bammer

I was not expecting MSTK3 to be on this list, but I am totally down for that! Loved that show! Definite yes to Voyager, I'm confident that you'll enjoy it. I am disappointed that Knight Rider was not listed.

Bernie Zwicky

Yes, Knight Rider would have been a good one!

Jen Murray

Please read above regarding Voyager. The Orville is on the poll

Byrd N. Hand

As a Minnesotan who was with MST3K from its inception, I still feel the novelty of the concept ultimately wears off after a while. 🤷‍♂️

Byrd N. Hand

I'd vouch for the rest of the Fargo series. I honestly liked the fourth season more than most people did, but wasn't as impressed with the fifth season as most people were. 🤷‍♂️ Nonetheless, it's still worth a watch.

Bernie Zwicky

I also liked the remake of Knight Rider with the Mustang…wish they would have stuck with the original premise of the show, though, without the military aspect thrown in!

Jason Scade

Excited to see Point Break for the 1st time. Post whenever it's convenient for and totally suits you. 📬 💜 👍 👍 Just like my postman does. 😋

Jason Scade

Boys from The Dwarf. 🍻

Joe Blankenship

Lots of good shows in there. Fleabag is just 12 half-hour episodes, you could knock that out quick. And you would love Freaks and Geeks. Methinks you might relate to the main character a lot.

Joe Blankenship

Yeah, it's super convenient. I don't expect it to last forever though. It's literally distribution of copywritten material without permission. And making money off it. If it were me, I wouldn't be doing it.

Joe Blankenship

I'd love to watch Quantum Leap with Jen.

Bammer

I would have rather it been a continuation of KR2000.

Alexis Vorian

I hope you watch Amadeus theatrical release!

Jen Murray

I have the 2:40 version which I believe is theatrical

Nathan Cline

Would love to see you proceed into Voyager after DS9. Would also love to see you check out Enterprise and Lower Decks after Voyager.

Alexis Vorian

I think it is! I hope you enjoy it, it's a 10 out of 10 movie.

Chris Biebel

While she could do a partial listing of episodes (like she did with TOS), I hope she'd consider doing the full run in order , even though that would take a long time (while there aren't that many seasons (5), there are a lot more episodes per season) and you don't actually have to do them in any order. Part of the reason being that a lot of the episodes hit people differently, so what one person might consider a "clunker" could really appeal to another person. For instance, one of the often maligned episodes is "The Hunt" but I think Jen would actually love it. The reason she should consider doing it in order is just one little thematic thing I realized between season 1 and 2. Part of the ending twist in season 1 Finale actually works as a bridge in the difference in how the shows are narrated between season 1 and the other seasons.

Chris Biebel

She should probably watch Farscape before watching Stargate SG-1 because...reasons.

Kristin

Mrs Maisel turns into a man-hate fest. It's not fun to watch.

Clay F

Very much looking forward to Amadeus. Love that movie. Nice list of TV shows. My top choices: Sopranos (No. 1), Band of Brothers (No. 1 miniseries all time), Andor (favorite SW content), The Expanse (awesome), The Wire, Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Queen's Gambit (I love chess). I would love to hear your analysis on Andor and The Expanse. I also voted: Weeds, Twilight Zone, Fleabag, King of the Hill, Mindhunter (stellar series), West Wing, Freaks and Geeks (should have been more than 1 season), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Veep, Arrested Development, 12 Monkeys, M*A*S*H (by far my favorite series as a young adult 40 years ago), Shōgun. The Wire = a favorite of President Obama. CBS interview: Interviewer: "Settle an office debate. Best 'Wire' character of all time?" Pres Obama: "It's got to be ****, right? I mean, that guy is unbelievable, right?" Pres Obama: "And that was one of the best shows of all time."

Byrd N. Hand

Personally, I think the Director's Cut is in the same 'more is more' camp as the extended cuts of Peter Jackson's Middle-Earth films, but, since I'm only going to be watching the YT edit, it's probably a moot point.

Patrick

I should also add that I'm fairly biased towards a lot of the UK shows. I'd like Jennto see a bit more British humour. I can't remember what I picked but Spacedbans Peep Show rings a bell.

Marc Peterson

80 Emmy nominations and 22 wins would say otherwise.

Brian Straight

Would love to see you do Voyager, DS9 is "better" in almost every respect but Voyager is a bit more "fun" for me and its elements better fit what I like to see in Trek. And I'm sure you will love the theme its spirit fits the show, exploration and wonder. But there's elements to it I know you'll like when it comes to the cast. (We'll talk about Enterprise when the time comes. 😉 (Eh, worth watching but has flaws.)

Troy

Star Trek: Voyager should be on your list to vote for! It's much closer to The Next Generation than DS9.

Bagofsoup

Voyager honestly needs to be dun in release order as much as possible. If not, it would be like watching all of TNG series and the movies, and only then going back to start DS9, when it should be started mid season 6 of TNG. A lot of things won’t make sense timeline wise or be appreciated. I would recommend watching voyager now and trying to catch up to release day order.

L J

Don't underestimate Voyager... personally I think it can totally hold it's own just as much as any other Trek series!

L J

Agreed. If watching Voyager was always part of the plan, I can't figure out why she chose not to watch in release order along with DS9. Seems like an odd choice. That said, I'm relieved to hear that Voyager hasn't been forgotten or ignored!

Kristin

I've seen it, so I'm familiar with it. Personally, I only enjoyed about 1/3 of the show. That's just my opinion though.
