Well this one caught me off guard! I went in blind and it was so zany! We had diamond heisting, champagne, dogs (poor dogs), great chemistry with the whole cast! Everyone was super funny but Otto was the standout for me, such an oddball character 😂😂 I know there was a 'spiritual successor' made after this, anyone want to see it?

Haven’t seen this in like 25 years and don’t remember it but it will be fun to watch while I have dinner tonight. 😀

Happy days! Press play! 😃🐠 My cat tried to distract me from playing this, so she got a chip up the nose, I'm afraid.

Harvey Lee

This was such a brilliant ensemble piece Jen and just comedy gold . The whole cast is awesome and especially Kevin Kline as he is so obnoxiously Funny as Otto and won a well deserved Oscar for it Hi I'm Harvey Manfrenjensenden !! 😅

Joe Blankenship

I don't think I've seen "Fierce Creatures" since the 90s. If you wanna watch it, I'm down. I remember Jamie Lee Curtis was quite foxy in that one.

Jason Scade

Huge +1 for Fawlty. Also Flying Circus, I'd do Fawlty first though, only 2 series and I think it'd get the most YT traffic, of the two. However, both shows do have huge fanbases. 👍👍 🦶

Ian

Knew this one would be a fun one for you Jen can't wait to check it out on Sunday and enjoy plenty of laughs with you 🙂🔥

Ian

🍟👃🏆. Fierce creatures would be great then ' clockwise 1986' two movies that would amuse you a ton 😀🔥

Crap, was waiting for my name and didn't realize when my account was updating, it changed my nickname. Great movie, loved John Cleese and his humour, saw this in the theatre, always a pleasure.

Hilarious reaction, very happy you enjoyed it so. 😂💜 We'd not seen in a long time, it was a fab re-watch. You handled the dog scenes well. Otto = Idioto! 😂 Wanda was a big box office hit and then again on home viewing media. Fierce Creatures didn't do as well, I believe. 1:40:45 A cameo by Stephen Fry. Growing up, we had a family Doberman Pinscher, Sasha ♥. She was crazy-scary for other people and quite aggressive but hugely loyal and loving to the family. I often fought/played tug-of-war with her, with an old sock and soon switched from holding it in-hand to in my teeth. The cloth would get torn shorter and shorter with her violent head-rolls and pulls and eventually we'd be about 4 inches apart. I must have been off my head. Best dog I ever had. :') ♥ Further Cleese, I'd recommend the quintessential & *very* British comedy 'Fawlty Towers'. The 1985 movie 'Clockwise' is something of a spiritual successor to Basil Fawlty's character, imo. I can't recall much about Fierce Creatures but I'd be up for it. A very highly recommended UK gangster/heist movie is 'Sexy Beast' (2000). It has a bit of a cult following. Ray Winston and a psychotic Ben Kingsley. Very offbeat and peppered with dark humor. It's unforgettable.

I hate to admit it but I will admit it. When I saw that flattened dog (puppet obviously) I laughed so hard and choked at the same time.

Love this movie. An excellent followup movie is "I love you to death". Another Kevin Kline movie.

Patrick Turman

This is my mom's favorite movie. I remember being a little kid & her laughing up a storm during this. It was a little unnerving, tbh. I'd never seen that side of my mother before.

Jon Anderson

All the barristers I know hate those wigs, and the court system keeps promising to phase them out... I just love Kevin Kline here, one of the best OTT comedy performances I know, and all he really does is lean into every single British stereotype about loud obnoxious Yanks. For more top John Cleese comedy - Clockwise, you will not regret it.

Stephen Dias

For some reason, I’d never seen this movie before. Kevin Kline never ceases to amaze me.

jon bolton

Time to watch my favourite comedy movie, and third favourite film of all with you Jen. If you love it a tenth as much as i do, i'll be happy.

jon bolton

After seeing how much you loved this, a film i obviously upvoted. I'm heading to upvote another with John Cleese from 2 years earlier, Clockwise

Scaredy-cat

This is a fun one and it's been much too long since I last watched it. Silverado (1985) for more Kevin Kline and John Cleese!

zynjams

I didn't like this movie when it came out, and rewatched with you, and it did not change my mind. yet I enjoyed your reaction

Thomas Malley

It was the 7th biggest movie of 1988 in the US, and it took 10 weeks for it to reach No. 1 in the US because the word of mouth was so strong. Adjusted for inflation in today's dollars it cost around 20 million and brought home what would be equivalent to half a billion dollars. It was a massive hit.

Justin Philbrook

This is one of mine and my brother's favorite movies. To this day when we see each other there is a decent chance one of us will yell "ASSHOLE!" A bit of trivia, the hymn that the choirboys sing at the dogs' funerals is: Miserere Dominus, miserere Dominus, Canis mortuus est, which translated into English is: Have mercy, Lord; have mercy, Lord; the dog is dead.
