It's hard to believe how little I remember about the later seasons. I know I watched them, but I've forgotten so much. It's nice to watch them for the "first" time with you Jen.

Ian

Happy trek Saturday lady J 🖖 always ready to engage that play button and enjoy more trek with YouTubes finest make it so !

Banes

I can't get enough of that last scene with Jadzia and Worf in Change of Heart. Haven't seen the episode in years but i think about that scene all the time.

TC Green

Only the absolute geniuses at Starfleet could come up with: “Let’s send a husband and wife on a life and death mission together.” Of course he chose his wife! That’s why you don’t send them together!

Henchman Twenty1

The actor who played Bilby, Nick Tate, played eagle pilot Alan Carter in the 1970s sci-fi show "Space: 1999". I didn't even recognize him when I first watched this episode. Still though, it was nice to see someone from that old show made it into Trek.

TigerMyth

You have to roll with the oddball mission episodes. This one reminds me of when Starfleet inexplicably sent Piccard, Crusher and Worf on a mission. And yes inexplicably, you can't tell me Starflleet had nobody other than Piccard and Bev to check on a secret base for a metagenic weapon. I assume we get episodes like this so the actors don't bail for never having anything interesting to do on the show.

Dean

I was a bit unenthusiastic about this week because there are some real crazy heaters coming down the line in the season, but I forgot that Season 6 is all bangers, even the less metaplot important episodes. Credit to Terry Farrell for somehow being so full of life when Dax is healthy and also selling so well when she's injured. It's happened a few times and she really nails pale, weakened, and sick every time.

Rob Nichols

Tate was also in TNG's Final Mission.

2026-10-25 09:00 OB’s alleyway contact also played a character in NYPD Blue called Mike Roberts. A pretty hapless crooked cop.

I always hated when Sisko told Worf he'd never get a command of his own. It just seemed like too harsh a punishment.

2026-10-26 05:00 Yeah, it's a big silly that they just dropped O'Brien into a life or death, long-term spy mission, while he's ALSO Chief of Operations at probably the most strategically important space station in the quadrant, DURING A WAR. 😂 Still a pretty good episode, despite the absurd premise.

Yup. O'Brien episodes are almost always solid.

"Honor Among Thieves" seems strongly inspired by Donnie Brasco, just transplanted to the 24th century and compressed into a 45 minute TV episode, lol. Good movie though, strongly recommended if you haven't seen it. Al Pacino and a young Johnny Depp.

Kev Longley

We've now pretty much caught up with the Delta Flyers podcast. Was really great to hear Terry Farrell and Michael Dorn talk about this episode in detail. Haven't watched it in years and it's given me a lot more to appreciate about it watching it again today having just heard them talk about it.

O'Brien Must Suffer... Divided Loyalties? Well, if you're gonna' do a 'Donnie Brasco', Colm's the best actor for the part. Was interesting seeing another side of the Trek Universe we don't have much privy to: the seedy underground beyond the purview of the Federation. I believe 'Change Of Heart' was the episode that finally - *FINALLY* - put the remaining critics of the Worf/Dax 'ship to rest. Only took two seasons to get there. As for the Bashir subplot, it may seem a little out of the blue that he'd be showing regret over Jadzia, but it makes sense that, as he gets older and sees his friends pairing off, he may start wondering about his own choices, and what alternatives may have happened under other circumstances.

Sykonee

Harsh, but real - would you put someone in charge of a mission after they've shown they'll put their own interests ahead of their duty? Pretty sure that's how you end up with all those Bad-Admirals.

Roy Ben-Ami

Change of heart is my favorite episode of all DS9. I just ADORE it. It is the culmination of worf's character and him and dax relationship and it is peak writing. I cry at that last scene every time.... hearing that worf's put his career AFTER jadziah is peak when u know worf for so long and how much it means to him.

Alexis Vorian

I guess Honor Among Thieves is not very well considered among fans, but I really love it, one of my favs.

Chaos T

In "Honor Among Thieves" we're seeing a darkness within The Federation. For utopia to be maintained, Starfleet Intelligence is willing to do some really questionable things. There have been threads throughout DS9 showing all is not good and virtuous in paradise however this episode exposes the underbelly of how The Federation will go to lengths beyond the principles they believe in to keep utopia afloat.

AB

Just an FYI. You didn't miss anything with Bashir being THAT rueful about Jadzia and lost love.. They hadn't been focusing on anything like that about his character. It was a tactic Quark was using (as you noted) and happened to hit a real sore spot he wasn't consciously aware of until that moment.

Adam Harris

Even Picard has occasionally put his personal feelings ahead of the mission, and Sisko said he'd have done the same thing too. It's Starfleet's fault for sending a husband and wife on a mission together. If Worf wasn't forced into that position, there'd be no problem. I guarantee that the vast majority of Starfleet captains would act in the same way if a loved one was in danger, so it's hypocritical to reprimand Worf so harshly for it. That punishment definitely did not fit the crime.

phillip giroux

As much as I like the cheif, I almost never like the episodes that focus mostly on him. It's the stories they put him in that rarely get my interest.

William Rosmer

your reaction to honor among thieves makes me think of 2 things i think you'd absolutely love. 1 the d&d movie also named honor among thieves and 2 the tv series burn notice.

William Rosmer

worf 100% has a sense of humor. it's just INCREDIBLY dry

Heespharm

Anybody else having problem loading the full watch along?

TigerMyth

And why you can't be in Command over a loved one. Like the episode with Piccard and Bev 2.0.
