i felt so bad for caleb, after seeing his backstory it made me more attached to him and was annoying the way beau was treating him ngl. I also finished vox machina season 1 and was super fun!

Though I think they showed Caleb's backstory beautifully, and the moment of him killing his family speaks for itself, I also miss as Caleb's player describes what happened. How excited him and the other students were to serve the Empire, how they were basically brainwashed and indoctrinated to WANT to be killers. Trent even fucked with their memories, which is what led them killing their parents to 'graduate'. Liam recalling that moment as Caleb and saying "I was so sure...until I wasn't" gives me chills even now.

For beau, you gotta understand she was almost killed by a volstrucker had it not been for dairen. She's also been suddenly promoted from a field investigator trainee to a full blown Expositor in the span of a few hours. Definitely stupid asf to fight caleb while interrogating him, but she has good reason to be suspicious. Should have just asked him to leave the room or something for sure tho
