the animation style of the 3d is so creepy but this was fun to watch! is it just me or do animations just look like they put more effort back then? i mean i guess it depends on which company ngl.

Holy. Fuck. I forgot this movie existed but this'll be a ride! Also yes, companies definitely put more effort in back then because they weren't massive groups of 100's being assigned specific sections and tasks and following a checklist but instead smaller groups of individuals creating an idea and bringing it to life. Wall of text incoming but informative wall of text xD It's the difference between an artisan good and a consumer good - Artisan is typically handcrafted and higher quality both due to love for their creation and being more individual, while consumer is mass produced in a facility by many who just do a part for an achieved goal. It's not a bad thing to have consumer products/mass production, it makes the artisans stand out more and increases the value of their skills and products while at the same time making a Thing less expensive on the generic level for the average consumer. The problem is that mass production is only really valuable for Functional things (furniture, tools, structures) that have a specific function and the artistry rarely impacts that and it's more important that a set of rules for safety/functionality is followed first. Movies, Tv Shows, Games, entertainment in general does NOT benefit from that simplification and mass production system because the value of it is in it's creation. There's more to this because there are times where art can be used purely functionally like as placeholders, or in personal projects where it mostly serves as reference/reminder, but I started writing that out and it was a third wall of text that just isn't needed xD TL;DR Consumer goods fill the role of function and artisan goods fill the role of form in society. Entertainment products function IS form, so as they become more mass produced value and quality drops for no return but corps think pumping out many will generate more income because they don't understand the thing they're managing.

48:00 you didn't need to feel bad for the joke, a Bear Claw is a type of sweet pastry so his whole joke was literally "I was out in the forest struggling to eat a donut" basically xD

Tyler

I thought capri suns were American lol, every American kid has had one at some point.

very great movie. Chowder glossing over his mom being at the movie theaters with her personal trainer will always be my favorite joke.
