Runes are something special, here a little history to the runes from the new world: The runes come from yggrdasil, but they where only deco the player themself carved into weapons. They did not have any effect whatsoever, the items in yggrdasil were crafted without any stats in them, only fancy looking blops of steel (or any other material) that had the form of a weapon (or armor). Once it was crafted they had slots where player could place data crystals in it, the higher quality the material the more slots for data crystals. For data crystals imagine them to have en effect of for example 10 fire damage and that could be transferred to the items to give them stats (maximal customization). Then the player took rune character and said this character does + 10 to all heals and all the others agreed on it and slowly build the whole rune language in the game (they still had no actual effect, it was all roleplay). After the transport into the new world when the yggrdasil similar system came to be, these runes were granted the actual effects and a new class for rune smiths got created because someone from the new world wanted to recreate these rune weapons. Runes cost absolutely nothing, but you can only place so many on low quality items like the ones from the new world. And a little side fact players and the npcs from the guild/guilds can not learn the new classes from the new world they are still bound to the actual yggrdasil system. That is how runes came to the new World

Also, Shalltear used charm species in Season 1 on Britta (the adventurer with the potion from Ainz). She just didn't say the spell name out loud, but she looked into her eyes and made her talk.

the "ka" at the end (that you like from some characters) is the way japanese make something into a question. For example: honto desu = it's true (or something like that) honto desu ka= is it true?
