omg yes! we feasting today boys!

HellToYou

Let's go! Here we encounter in this movie (briefly) Calca, one of the few humans who could've become friends with Ainz. Unfortunately like Gazeff, Ainz can't find true friendship in this new world, she really had a brutal death that was super undeserved, a real shame. Edit: this whole movie/arc is basically just a huge #ad for rune technology lmao Also please Neila, watch this again on your own but with proper subtitles, these were actually fucking awful

EndgameThor16

if you like the chibi models you should consider watching the ple ple pleiades spinoff as well as the isekai quartet anime which is a crossover between overlord, re:zero, konosuba, saga of tanya the evil, eminence in shadow (which also has it's own chibi spinoff), and shield hero.

Kyle King

I love this movie except for one fault with two solutions that would have pushed it even higher. We should either never have heard his inner monologue in the middle of the movie making it completely her story, or we should have had his constant inner monologue like the show does. It's minor like I said, but it self spoils the movie by having it in that one scene.

Kirby745i

FYI, doppelgangers like Pandora's Actor and Nabe (Narberal Gamma, the battle maid) have that weird mask face by default. So that wasn't Pandora's actor at the end, but just another doppelganger. Nabe (Narberal Gamma) also has the same face as Pandora's Actor, except she maintains her maid form, since that is how the Supreme One's designed her to look. Pandora's Actor keeps the mask face in his normal form because that's how Ainz designed him.

Kirby745i

I'm so sorry you had to deal with subtitles that had so many misspellings and mistakes. That would have totally taken away my immersion, but you didn't let it bother you.

Crawlingchaos03

Well this entire movie was our Lord Ainz trying to spread the runes out to the world. However Neia Baraja... That was entirely by accident. Ainz didn't expect her to praise him as Justice! Lord Ainz our justice! 😆😅 Aye, well now it seems that fearsome Demon is dead.

XanderDPanda

Ainz: *Exists* Neia: You could make a Religion out of that Every single Nazarick NPC: Finally, a Human that makes sense!

Kirby745i

No, the doppelganger who was pretending to be the prince isn't the same as Princess Reiner. Reiner is a yandere human pretending to act normal, while the "prince" at the end of the movie is a doppelganger (like Pandora's Actor) in disguise. I believe the doppelganger has been there since Demiurge first invaded, which is probably when they killed the prince and replaced him with a doppelganger.

PandorasActor

This Movie is sponsored by RuneCraft brought to you by the Sorcerer Kingdom.

Freitag

Yo asked for it: No, no encpunter with his friends in season 4

Freitag

Is that a runic bow thou??? With the knowlege of runes lost in time???

Jazzy Jinx

I feel like the translation in this movie was done by AI but luckily it was mostly fine, if not a bit annoying. Great job getting through it as an ESL, I worried for you there. xD

Woodstock179

That was the fist of "hell yeah she accepted my Rune Technology (patent pending) advertisement bow!" P.s. I laughed so hard with you at the Demon rune add too. Top tear reactions 🤣🫡👏👏😎

SomeNotTakenName

Whoever made these subtitles must have been smoking meth while they were working them LOL

SomeNotTakenName

2:46:00 Nah, Renner is just insane, the prince guy was replaced by a doppelganger.

Read this comment with a sarcastic british tone: Madhouse is a very unknown animation studio that did "small unknown" works like Overlord, Frieren, the good season of One Punch Man and the most underdog of all their work: Hunter X Hunter.

Kurato Wakiru

Ainz was annoyed at Demi because his plans no longer have super detail anymore. After Ainz turning the empire to a vasal state in 3 days and the "seeing 10,000 years in the future" comment in the last episode. Demi plans for Ainz became "just wing it", because clearly it x100 better than whatever Demi capable of planning. For example, butter up his attendant and turn her into an walking advert for his Rune weapon. Got a fanatic raising a new religion in his name instead. You need to remember, Demi the one with the plans, Ainz just fall upward and pretend that was the plans all along.

Ketanak

In a medieval setting with sword a small magic, a ratio of 4 attackers to 1 defenders isn't bad odd for defense though, i'd say it is in the defense favor since our siege history show that Knight general considered 8 to 1 a very safe bet and 5 to 1 a gruesome siege. I understand that peasants are scared but the knights and officers? come one, wall are made for this.

Ahmed El Fakih

Was gonna watch it yesterday night but at the beginning you say to have our snacks, and then I realized I had nothing, so I'm watching you today hahahahha

Neah

My comment got a bit emotional, so i made a small cut off (only click 'show more' if you want to read my rant) oh shit, i remember, they dont even make subs, they just take the dub and write it down as sub (probably even transcribed from the dub with AI, thats where the writing mistakes come from)..... that is why the timing and the overall quality is so bad.... for all future movie reaction pls dont watch from crunchyroll why are official subs so bad? i'm like 15 min in and there is already so much wrong/not fully correct (for example at 14:30 he did not call her a raging bull, he didnt even make a comparison like the sub seems to say). The subs for the normal series is better that whatever this is. *I am writing this while watching..... and holy what did the sub say about Neia's name?????? what the fuck is Nehagaraha??????? How can sub writer, write bullshit like this???? Her name is "Neia Baraja" **The last time that i trash these subs, but come on 'Ainz Ul'Gone' who ever wrote these subs never has seen overlord, or even the japanese script which they should translate from. They probably just translated while watching the movie, like how else can they write shit like this?

Pharos Dusklight

So far as I know in the light novel, I don’t see him encountering any of his past friends, but there is a lot to develop yet because the light novels are not finished

Neah

they take the dub script (just look at the sub timing) and then maybe use AI to write it down as sub (thats how i explain the spelling misstakes)

The Force

The phrase you're looking for with "Daddy's Daughter" but for the dad is "Girl dad". Also it's usually Daddy's girl in english not Daddy's daughter "Penetrate" like "Twin" or "Maximize", or really anything that comes before the "Magic, Spellname" is a magic modifier, sometimes called metamagic, it essentially makes a spell function in a different way at higher cost. Twin doubles the casting allowing you to fire off the spell twice simultaneously, Penetrate allows it to function as a higher level spell for the purposes of penetrating magic resistances. Maximize uses a bit more magic to guarantee, in RPG terms, a maximum damage roll on a random damage range. Etc etc. TBF to Remedios and the paladins, the holy kingdom has spent it's entire existence with demi-human species attacking and trying to kill and eat them and their people so much so they had to build a coast to coast wall. I can understand hating monsters in that case xD The "Chaotic neutral evil" thing was someone who said Ainz is Lawful Evil and I said Neutral Evil or True Neutral. These are ttrpg (like D&D) terms for alignment on two spectrums Good and Evil and Law and Chaos. A Good aligned character tends to be selfless, acting for the betterment of others without considering themselves, an Evil tends to be selfish, focusing on the betterment of themselves at the expense of others. Lawful characters adhere to strict codes, be it laws of the land (knights) or personal ideals (paladins) where as Chaotic characters reject and often defy codes acting without consideration for justification. It could also be seen as a Logical and Emotional scale. Neutral is the inbetween and it's always written as Lawful/Chaotic Good/Evil so a Lawful Neutral character is Neutral on the Good/Evil spectrum whereas a Neutral Evil character is Neutral on the Law/Chaos spectrum. True neutral is neutral on both. I said Ainz is Neutral Evil, maybe True Neutral because he is very selfish but as you identified he does give of himself to the people he considers his family/responsibility, he also does not care for any specific strict rules or laws and kind of just decides in each moment what he believes is right. Ainz also couldn't have raised the kid, as mentioned in previous episodes people without enough lifeforce turn to ash when Resurrection is attempted on them. Most people in the world have that happen including adults, so a child is absolutely not going to be resurrected. "Obviously these guys are super omega evil right?" Why? Cause they're the aggressor in this war? Cause they admire strength and power? Cause they're demihumans? That was the point, just cause they are her enemy and she perceives them as evil doesn't mean they are xD It might come up later in the movie but I pause to add each of these. Easy to miss but Naia actually *does* die. The rod Ainz is putting back into his coat is his rod of Resurrection. He went, found Naia and resurrected her which is why she was so delirious and unstable in that scene. If this comes up I'll cut it out FIN! Yeah this Movies not a stellar one, it's still good and provides important information for references throughout season 4. I highly recommend this section of the LN or looking up a youtube video on what it missed cause it misses a LOT but it also tries to pack nearly a seasons worth of content into a single movie. Still not sure why they did that xD

Neah

You being influenced by slime isekai, monster are not 'nice' they are kill on sight, so remedios is actually right about monsters. The only thing she is right about but whatever. The monster in the Sorcerer Kingdom are only peacful because ainz is so much stronger and they have everything they need to live, these demihumans in the sacred kingdom are neither suppressed (before demiurge) nor have everything to live. The bow was not made by the dwarfs, it is just an item Ainz has that has some runes scribbled on to it (useless runes by the way, just a marketing thingy), from the game. (as far as i know if i am wrong here pls correct me) Ainz could not have revived the child, if he used a revive spell he would have turned to ash since the childs lvl was too low. When reviving the dead person loses levels and if the dead person is not high enough that the corpse will turn to ash.

Ahmed El Fakih

56:39 Ainz cannot just revive whoever he wants. I'm not quite sure of the requirements, but he once said that somebody (I don't remember who) wouldn't resist resurrection magic. Maybe it's due to their physical strength, maybe due to their souls strength. If someone has read the NL please confirm if the requirements for resurrection are stated in it.

The Force

It's more likely a by ear translate from an ESL person themselves. If it was AI it's a shite one, I've played around with a few and they might need proper nouns fixed especially strange ones like Ainz Ooal Gown, but "none dead", from the second meeting between Ainz and the paladins is what makes me assume human with a tight deadline. He uses the word Undead himself, which is the english word already, but it gets translated to none dead. I don't know a single AI on market that would see an already english word in a transcript, or 'hear' it in an audio file and not just keep it as is. AI has a lot of problems in moral, ethical and creative aspects, but in the technical it's far surpassed an average joe with stuff like this.

Pharos Dusklight

I think is hard for them to create fights scenes with Nazarick, because they are so strong that most of “humans” can just be one shot by them unless they play with the food

Sage Bastien

funny enough, the in the LN, Neiya is describe as... ugly.

Sage Bastien

And believe it or not, but the way the princess died in the LN it was really really gruesome, the anime give it credit, but i still felt my skin crawl reading it haha

Watta

thanks for this Neila

The Force

Separate cause more direct question: As far as I have read Ainz doesn't encounter his friends and I doubt he ever will. He was the only one of his friends online when Nazarick went down and from what's been hinted at by the writing so far the players who end up in this world are all those who were online when the game went offline.

Ahmed El Fakih

Außerdem habe ich eine mündliche Prüfung in circa 20 min, und ich sollte studieren, aber das Film ist wichtiger.

The Force

Why it might be able to harm even a greater demon! Who could have produced such fine work?!

The Force

Yeah the big change comes from magic as an abnormal means of siege weaponry which is often blown out of proportion imo. Considering scale and the like of typical high fantasy a single fireball would do no more than a single trebuchet strike. You'd need high level spells to really replace siege machinery and that woukd require either numbers or knowledge that can't be easily achieved. Biggest advantage it has is surprise and mobility since it doesn't need a large machine xD that being said theres also consideration of natural gifts (the flying demi-humans and angels) and a bunch of other stuff but it really wasnt as bad a fight. Hell they should have been fine for awhile if SOMEONE HADN'T JUST OPENED THE GATE TO LET PEOPLE INTO A LOOSE BOX FORMATION!

Ketanak

What i find sad, is that they have "high" magic to summon angel and no one in the military thought "what about using some to make an anti-magic on our wall and men..." Like they have air force to counter air force and long range bomardement, but not anti Tactical/strategic magic. What?

Virtuous_Wanderer

I feel like Ainz could realistically befriend any of the humans that he wants but, he has an image to uphold. If the guardians, and others from Nazarik saw him just happily gallivanting around with a gaggle of human friends, it would shatter their worldview of him as an all powerful ruler who considers humanity as beneath him. Plus, he is the ruler of a nation, and it would be considered inappropriate for someone of his status to be genuine friends with anyone, and there would always be the power dynamic in the back of everyone's heads wondering if he just bent them to his will with threats of total annihilation (kind of like he accidentally did with the Emperor).

Virtuous_Wanderer

Even funnier because, she kept insisting that no, its just a nice bow completely derailing his plan to advertise rune technology.

HellToYou

What I'm more pointing out is the other way around, not Ainz befriending anyone he could want but humans of the new world seeing Ainz for the true person that he is inside and not the undead. There's another one that we'll see soon but it would be a spoiler to mention who for Neila

Kurato Wakiru

you're not the only one, I had to delete one of my early comment too because I worried Neila might take it the wrong way as blaming her. I don't speak a lick of Japanese, I only know a tiny bit from watching anime and even I can tell they making shit up. Like when Ainz gave her the bow, she clearly trying repeating the name, but the sub say "I never seen a bow with elaborate name". I think it was Crunchyroll that did this bs in another anime where you can clearly hear the character says in English with Japanese accent "Merry Christmas" and they translate it to "happy holiday" just so they can stick it to the Christian for some reason. Another one was they change the Dub for Miss Kobayashi dragon maid to be political. And they're proud of fking up the original media, ruining the author work to push their agenda.

Yuririn [ユリリン]

OMG, I want to know more about that wonderful bow. Is it made with rune technology that was lost a long time ago? It looks so powerful, I can't wait to buy one. I'm hoping to find some kingdom that might be interested in selling them. Thank you for the reaction, Neila. Those subs were really something, but I'm glad it didn't take away your enjoyment. I hope people in the Sacred Kingdom enjoyed taking part in this elaborate advertisement campaign, it was fun.

Neila Reacts~

meh it s ok. Better these subtitles than not understanding anything and not being able to watch the movie in itself so i dont really mind. It s not my first time dealing with bad subs LMAO

Neila Reacts~

yeah nah i m not watching it again LMAO the subs were bad but understandable so there s no need for me to since i still understood the plot anyways

Neila Reacts~

yeah it didnt bother me much. Was funny to see them fuck up so badly tho lol

Neila Reacts~

yeah i get that but still tho, was expecting some action LMAO idk ainz could have nerfed himself like he did in the anime since all this is basically a game to them anyways

Sage Bastien

i rereaded the fight in the LN, and as i remember, in the LN th fight is actually... epic. it's so good, sad that the movie didn't showed it

SomeNotTakenName

A new video (came out an hour ago at the time of writing of this comment) about Ainz's fight with the demon who pretended to be Demiurge if you're interested. Contains info from the novel. https://youtu.be/GrH5x7dZjq8

Shahbaj Mohammad

Mann... I wish Google would commission Nazarik for its adds. I might actually enjoy watching some weapon adds with lost rune tech.

KingPower03

It said mad house… i read Maid house and was confused as to what company that was lol

Philotes

Well, now you finally know why when I first joined, I called you Neia a few times by accident. :D Also, what are those subtiltes?! They are so unbelievably bad! "Nehoboraha"?! "Ainz Ul'Gone"?! "Arinsul Gond"?! As for them not telling you about Neia in the carriage, like so many other things, it was cut from the movie for time. As I said, they crammed 2 whole books into a single movie and the story suffered quite a bit because of it. They also cut the negotiations with Ainz at the start, the whole part of the paladins trying to convince the Re'Estize kingdom to help (before movie start), much of Neia's background info, an attacks on "Happy Farm" camps, a lot of Neia interacting with CZ21218 Delta and more. The biggest loss is that they did not show all the reasons why Neia was sloooowly becoming less and less loyal to the Holy Kingdom and more and more loyal to Ainz. In the movie, Neia looks like she is immediately switching sides. Honestly, this could have been a whole season of the anime if you ask me. Also note, the movie does terrible job showing it, but when Neia looks like she is about to betray them, she is actually trying to get the demon to lower his guard so that Shizu can ambush him. In the movie, it just looks like Shizu is interrupting the betrayal, which is the exact opposite of what happened. And the princes spells looks like they were useless getting canceled, but that demon specialized in magic and had to focus most of his attention on canceling those spells. So even though the princes spells didn't hit, without them, the others would just get attacked by spells and wrecked.

Dethrox

Yeaah... humans just suuuck :DD

Philotes

There are 3 limits on resurrection that I know of: 1. Resurrection decreases level. Low level spells by a lot, high level spells less. If the person does not have high enough level to decrease, they can't be resurrected. (Fluder mentions that Wild Magic of dragon lords can resurrect without decreasing level. This was not in the Yggdrasil game and it is unclear whether Ainz knows about this.) 2. A person can refuse to be resurrected if they want to. It has nothing to do with strength. If they want to stay dead, they can stay dead. 3. Some spells, items, and skills can make it harder/impossible to resurrect. E.g. True Death that Ainz used on Gazef would prevent resurrection by low level spells.

Ahmed El Fakih

I consider myself to know enough of Japanese to sometimes watch anime without subtitles, as long as they don't use weird vocabulary. Sometimes in this movie I realized that what they said and what the subtitles said were COMPLETELY different from each other and it freaked me out 😅😅

Joshua Ford

The way I like to think about it, Ainz is a very special kind of split personality. There is the human mind of the player that designed the character, Momunga, and just like with the NPC’s there is all the lore and description information around the race and character classes create the undead creature he inhabits. The thing that brought them to this world translated everything from Yggdrasil and obviously even the human player’s mind as well. This isn’t a case of one acting when the other is asleep or some such arrangement but that both act and are slowly merging together over time. I imagine them as being in a way similar to the split brain experimental subjects in the late 1900s to early 2000’s. They suffered from epileptic seizures and cutting the bridge between their frontal lobes in their brain solved the “storms” of activity that was bleeding over that linkage and theorized to be causing the seizures. The treatment appeared to have worked, but it created an unexpected result. The two sides of their brain operated independently. Choosing different things to wear, having experiences the other never knew about and generally operating each as their own decision maker. One side you your brain controls motor function and sensory processing for one half of your body, and the other half controls those inputs and outputs for the other side. Similarly one lobe handles spoken language and the other handles written. Questions could be asked of one or the other personality and the Y would give completely contradictory answers that implied they were entirely unaware of why their left hand was holding an object the other brain had been asked to pick up. They just made up a story and confidently believed it. I imagine Ainz as the confident idiot verbal portion of the mind while the overlord creature is another entity he is slowly being reshaped by that is making its own choices and calculations he is entirely unaware of and is acting for reasons he makes up excuses for whenever needed for his own internal monologues continued sense of progress. In the light novels for instance it is clearly stated that his aura choices are not happening according to his conscious choices and the green flare sapping him of emotional energy is something he feels to be external to his mind. His actions seem almost comedically effective far too often and on too many levels given the internal monologue the anime and light novels depict. This is just my own head-cannon but I think it explains things as they have been revealed so far very well. If nothing else it is a fun side story to explore. There are interesting videos on YouTube and other media on other sites if anyone wants to learn more about them.

Urf

my head canon is just that they fired off impressive looking skills at the end, not really fighting

AonixGhostlyQ

Well in the novel, with the hostages they did try to negosiate before letting ain do his thing and all the enemy demi humans did was kill a kid and bring another one they had already lined up

41253_Null_MMD

I may have missed it in an earlier video, but what is it Neila keeps calling Demi?

41253_Null_MMD

This movie would have been 100x more enjoyable if Remedios had been turned into a pile of ash in the first 10 minutes. She is without a doubt the most worthless pile of shit in this movie. Hell, in this entire series.

Ade Irawan

Cmon neia..I mean neila just try ple ple pleiades look how cute my nabe 🥰
