In case its never said after. Hilma and most others that were captured were fed to Kyohaku (The big Cockroach king from when the workers came to nazarick) They were then healed and eaten, then healed and eaten, over and over again to instill fear and compliance. Edit: Also carrot and the stick Refers to beating someone or something with a stick and the carrot being a treat or reward. So in practice its to get someone or something into submission (Like the Kingdom and the Empire), and or to get someone or something to appreciate the carrot more after getting the stick. (Like Hilma)

Crawlingchaos03

Oh Phily, Phil...P... You fool!? Anyways, back to the chaos that's about to begin. Thanks Neila, I didn't have to sleep tonight haha, but for realza gonna crash out and catch up later on. Peace out

Ketanak

carrot and stick is a reference to how you educate a donkey to listen. You punish and reward actions until it understands the only option is carrots. It works for animals, babies and you and chattos i guess

Kurato Wakiru

to expand on this a little bit more, the cockroach eat them from inside out, and they go in through their mouth. So @ 16:36, they talk about cleansing her mouth after having cockroach crawls in it, not the other kind of c*ck, this ain't hentai XD.

Dethrox

So you telling me.. everytime they said Theocracy they meant Holy Kingdom ?? :D wow.. just wow..

Dethrox

God.. i hate this king..so stupid.. just like 99% of his nobles..

Cons

I'm pretty sure the Slane Theocracy is what they're talking about when they say Theocracy not the Holy Kingdom. Weird that they're using the same word here. I guess technically they're both theocracies?

Woodstock179

Haha seeing you getting so into it was so cool! And brought me joy. Due to how they skipped the Holy Kingdom arc its super common for everyone to get confused here ( especially with them still calling it Theocracy by mistake) instead of getting into the story.not you though. 😎👍^_^

Woodstock179

Yes basicly because there was not any depiction of the Holy kindom arc at this time no mention of it in the anime till this season season so the sub and eng dub team mis translate Holy Kindom into Theocracy thinking they were the same kingdom for all season4. But to be clear any characters we see plotting in the anime ARE from the Slane Theocracy. All the aid and "Demi planing" in season 4 is for Holy Kingdome.

carbonfiberRS

Yo what is this pose......I believe that is the pose female baboons assume to attract male baboons for mating, but I'm not sure that was Hilma's intention 😂

Dethrox

yeah i meant season 4 only.. cause even when i watched it myself (before the movie) i was like.. what are they talking about.. :D since when are they ''allies'' with n.1 enemy of nazarick ?? (since they were the ones that controlled Shalltear) make no sense.. xD the mistranslation is awful

The Force

Oh boy, sitting down with a nice bowl of rice and fixings, a nice cuppa milk and I'm excited to just binge this finale! EDIT Moved Rant on Philip to a comment below. Instead replacing with praise and information: Zanac isn't well presented in the show but he's actually considered a genius nearly on par with Renner, but as a second son he's not allowed to inherit the throne except through exceptional circumstance. Prior to the events he is working with Marquis Raeven to controlling both major political factions and together they were preventing the Kingdom from falling into civil war while also moving to position Zanac to take the throne instead of his brother who was a militaristic meathead and nobility pawn. Even after Raeven retreats to his domain the decline of the king and loss of the crown prince are capitalized on by Zanac to keep the factions in check with the support of Renner. Ultimately he wanted the throne but this was because he wanted to further improve his Kingdom, including iirc a permanent peace treaty with the Empire, increased trade, and the ousting of criminal organizations and political terrorists threatening civil war to force the crown to act in favor of nobles over commoners. Basically while Zanac is a conniving, manipulative, deceitful fuck his reasons are all pretty noble and he encourages the perception because it makes his opponents in the political sphere more wary and thus more controllable. The anime only here at the end really starts to show that more noble and true Zanac as the pressure of the Sorcerer Kingdom forces it to the front.

The Force

Yep as others said all through Season 4 almost everytime we referred to the "Theocracy" especially with regards to Demiurge and his plans it was actually the Holy Kingdom, two separate entities xD

The Force

Rant on Philip moved from main comment to here feel free to ignore: Philip pisses me off so much cause while he's smart enough to immediately recognize the problem with the Sorcerous Kingdom flooding cheap produce into their lands, as it destroys the market for his own people, he's focused entirely on the "value" of his crops and thus the profit he's making and not the other problems a surge like this causes. Those being primarily: - Profit loss of any of the farmers as the cost to procure the seed for their current crop will be greater than the value they can sell it at. - Subsequent deficits causing reduced tax availability, dilapidation of property, and future crop shortages as they can't afford new seed - Crop shortages can lead to starvation or dependency on external sources increasing influence of other groups in his land and with his people. - Increased crime and banditry as people try to make ends meet in desperation. Just to name a few things but like I said above, he's focused on the profit and reputation of himself and not the future wellbeing and stability of his territory as a whole. On top of that guy has a half decent basic idea but then completely overplays how he handles it. For instance cash crops actually are a very useful part of a small territory's trade and handled right can greatly increase the overall wealth of the area, but he wants to switch EVERYONE over to it AND he's clearly just trying to get the most valuable cash crop instead of the best one for his land based on the "they tell me it might not grow well in this climate" comment. And with the above cheap produce problem his solution is to ROB THE FUCKING SORCERER KINGDOM?! Albeit he was drunk then he STILL WENT THROUGH WITH IT. Oh my gaaaaawd xD

Carrot and stick is more or less a philosophy of training animals. The carrot (or treat) is given when the animal behaves in a way that you agree with. The stick is given when the animal behaves in a way that goes against what you want (beat the animal into the path you want). Example of the Carrot: You get on a new horse, and it doesn't throw or buck you off but, instead does exactly what you want it too so, it gets a treat or gets to run free. Example of the Stick: You get a new horse, and try to ride it but, it bucks and throws you off so, you instead mistreat it by hitting, or locking it up for an extended period of time. One is a positive feedback loop that makes the horse loyal too you, and want to do what you want it too by getting a treat. (the more difficult but rewarding effort because the horse is more likely to always do what you want it to do) The other is a negative feedback loop that makes the horse do what you want for fear of being abused. (the easier but, more risky as it could lead the horse to not behave and instead become violent)

HellToYou

Btw the most important part of this episode is how at the end the king asked to forgive his "subordinate" by taking on the blame himself, referring back to earlier in the episode when Ainz said a superior should take responsibility for their subordinates to protect them, and not to force the responsibility on them, which is exactly what the king did. Also let's stop insulting Zanac when he's literally the best human of the whole anime lol

Kirby745i

I don't think it was ever covered, but the "Faceless" that also put their seal on the document the prince read to the court is Neia Baraja from the movie (she's still self-conscious about her "scary eyes"). As the movie showed at the end, Neia has a huge following of those who believe in Ainz.

Kirby745i

The king is doing his very best to preserve his kingdom's independence, the balance of power between the internal Noble and Royal factions, and his citizens' morale, while also acknowledging the crime the noble committed, which is basically a war declaration to the Sorcerer Kingdom. The king is willing to sacrifice himself, knowing Prince Zanac can take his place. By offering himself, he avoids looking like a coward willing to sacrifice one of his citizens (even though Philip deserves it). The king is trying to balance the powers between the internal Noble and Royal factions. He is in a really tight spot. While I don't think Albedo will accept it, it would have been a solution that would have protected the kingdom's independence, its internal stability between the factions, and the citizens' morale. I feel so bad for the guy.
