Nigredo was the guilds i think first attempt at a horror inspired floor guardian for Nararick. They skip this and did it much earlier in the light novel but to get to Nigredo you have to offer her a porcelain doll. This is because Nigredo has a serious maternal problem. Off the top of my head the lore she had was, She had a kid, lost the kid in a horrible accident or the child was still born, This sent her into a crazed frenzy of wanting a child. This being said when Ainz goes down to her she would attack him if not given a doll to calm her down first. Also fun fact the area she guards is the Frozen Prison.

Ketanak

Ainz, would you please elaborate on what you consider "large"? I mean in S1E3 he said what the human consider super OP angel to be mid mob xD

Ketanak

About the kids: they are the orphans of the previous war/massacre. Teaching them how to fight was useful to replace the soldiers lost (and guarantee them a job), and now it's even more useful to give them a slight chance at survival while they flee and face the harsh world.

Pharos Dusklight

“There is any guild that will be stronger than Nazarick” - probably, Ains is not the strongest character in Nazarick, there is other that even Ains fears inside Nazarick and when a character like that is in the history is because something will happen at one point that will probably overwhelm even Ains

EndgameThor16

the white haired vtuber you mentioned is amalee/monarch and she actually voiced the white lizard crush lulu in the dub

Crawlingchaos03

Aye, this is going to be the craziest battle ever!!! A mech vs undead! The red guy did kill off two of the warrior skellies.

Sage Bastien

"i don't like reading lihght novel" GUYS NEILA HATE READING US!!! Kappa

Summerguy

I think Neila became a dog girl furry in this episode

Jol♣️

I knew Neila would change her mind really quickly aboug liking Lylinette 😆

Woodstock179

Ains "all as planned " [internal monolog-WTF is a Gundam doing here???]

The Force

It was also as Brain mentioned a means to pass on their sword styles. Training children in swordsmanship and martial combat has been a thing through out history as a means of passing on culture and technique through generations as well as prepare the next generation to protect itself, the next generation, and their elders who once protected them.

The Force

Nigredo is also loosely inspired appearance wise by a famous Yokai (japanese spirit) iirc, the scissor woman who asks if you think she's pretty and then kills you if you say no, or disfigures you to match her if you say yes

The Force

Sadly Overlord was only really popular amongst it's audience when it started airing. It took till Ssn 3 to really get popular hell I never expected it to even get a second season. Then Ssn 3 had the infamous "oh right we're the VILLAINS villains" scene PLUS the monster animation in the ssn ending that turned a lot of people off so it dropped off quite a bit. Also yes Nigredo and Pestonya are two of the only "good" aligned characters in Nazarick with Sebas being unaligned and basically a blank slate but leaning towards good cause he models his creator who was a protector/hero archetype. Nigredo is... debatable due to some stuff others have explained, but her creator was a huge fan of Gap Moe so while Albedo is beautiful on the outside but disgusting internally (remember she was originally a "huge bitch" before Ainz changed that to loving him) Nigredo is ugly on the outside but beautiful on the inside being mostly kind and good excludin, again, a few specific elements that served her horror boss design xD

Neah

Yes Nigredo, Albedo and the youngest sister ( :0, only spoiler since anime skiped her ) are all characters with a certain theme. Nigredo is the personification of all the horror movies and stories that tabula knows. Albedo is a perfect beauty on the outside and a total bith on the inside (retcon done by Ainz), so gap moe. And the youngest sister (which was skipped in the anime, she got introduced in vol 10 with a few lines and that was it. This part of Season 4 is vol. 14). She is the strongest entity in Nazarick and when said strongest that means strongest, Ainz has 0 chances against her.

SleepyOldBear

The transition from the 24/26 to 12/13 episode format is truly great shame.

SleepyOldBear

Was commenting on when you mentioned that this season only had 12 episodes. It used to be more common that series had 24 or 26 episodes, but that has gone out of fashion and has been replaced with 12 or 13 episode formats.

Virtuous_Wanderer

Ainz when that mech showed up probably: *Surprised pikachu*

SilverSpade12

No spoilers. There's 2 major arcs after this season. The movie was one of them but it was so squished down, I could see them making it into a season to flesh it out more. So there is more content to adapt. But the last novel was released in 2022. It seems like the author wants to release vol 17 and 18 close together. He gave an New Year's update on Twitter that he was almost finished with 17.

Koda Atlas

"Anti-Gooner Protection"? yeah, neila would need that one, wouldn't she.
