You absolutely have to watch Megumin spin-off after season 3 :D there is a TON of backstory about megumin that tells you not just about her but Yunyun aswell and other characters :)

The animation shift is a bit jarring at first, especially when coming straight from season 1, but the more loose/goofy off model style really lends to the comedic moments and, as you pointed out, it does have times where it returns to a style closer to season 1. 6:43 Not sure if this was a jab at Kazuma's overall luck (based on the events that he finds himself in), or if you forgot his luck stat is the highest of all his stats and becomes second only to a certain persons... Absolutely love Konosuba and your reactions to it, 10/10. Such an excellent choice for a comedy anime, well done to those who recommended it :D

This is probably the biggest episode that highlights the fact that the anime and LN's changed ages ruins the joke. Again, in the original web novel, Megumin is 17, and an adult. She looks like a child because (as this episode reveals) she grew up in poverty, and was malnourished her whole life. Her physical growth was stunted because of that. That's why she gets so offended at Kazuma treating her like a child, and insinuating that he could get in trouble for being found in a compromising position with her - because, despite her appearance, she's an adult. Some of this applies to Yunyun, as well. She's the same age as Megumin, meaning she's 17 in the web novel, and 14 in the anime. And this episode deliberately makes a joke about her appearance in contrast with Megumin's. She's not supposed to be a way-too-developed 14-year-old, with Megumin being closer to a typical 14-year-old in contrast. She's an ordinary-looing 17-year-old, with Megumin being underdeveloped due to her past.

Also, Yunyun doesn't have friends. As she was saying, she has "friends" that get her to pay for everything, by telling her "we're friends, right?"

The "Friends" that Yunyun mentioned are real people from the academy, but you probably miss read the sub, it said "There were Funifura-san and Dodonko-san, who would always say, We're friends, right? and I would treat them to lunch" that means they took advantage of Yunyun.

Megumin and Darkness both have their moments with Kazuma and both have feelings for him so I understand saying either would make a good couple with him. But Aqua? Kazuma reminds us how unattracted to her he is every time he can. As other comments have said, they are the real siblings in this. I haven't read the whole thing so I can't confirm this personally but, from what I understand, Megumin is the one he canonically ends up with. Wouldn't call this a spoiler since it won't happen until the end of the series which is like season 7 so like another 15-20 years at best.
